Roosevelt Williams was a product of Savannah State's 98 1# Defense NCAA D II. Redshirted and played two years at State until Steve Wilks left. He than transferred to Tuskeegee and went 3rd round to the Bears.

Tuskegee University alone has 2 starting DB's in then NFL Frank Walker (Baltimore Ravens) and Drayton Florence (Jacksonville Jaguars). Anthony Mitchell (Retired - Superbowl Champion) and Roosevelt Williams formerly of the Chicago Bears. All of these DB's went in a 4 year span of one another.

Our schools are doing well in the Pros, I think at least all teams but two had a player from an HBCU on its roster and total of at least 27 in the league. Donte' Curry Morris Brown Carolina Panthers, Carey Scott Kentucky State (no longer in league. Several Clark Atl. Panthers over the years (the late Chuck Evans). Tavaris Jackson, ALA. State All the names may not be marque but the good thing is the players are getting a good look and are doing well.

Just want to address Toni Reynolds question and I do not believe that they draft from JR College's at this time; It has to do with the rule that you cannot enter the draft until three (3) yrs after your High School graduating class has been out of High School.

they are as good as it gets, some are at the schools to hone the craft because D1s wouldn't give them a chance for varying reasons.

talent is talent. It doesn't matter where these kids went to college if they can play a team is going to check them out. Now lets not have this same discussion next year if there are no pro days at any of the HBCU's because that is just going to cheapen the accomplishments of these kids past and present.

They will do well. I'm happy they at least have the opportunity. Shannon Sharpe attended Savannah State, and he is a Hall of Fame TE. Big things can happen for these kids!
