Vivlamore reporting.
MEMPHIS – The Hawks gave a dose of the third-quarter medicine they’ve had to swallow of late.
The Hawks erased an eight-point first-half deficit with one of their most impressive quarters of the season en route to a 93-83 victory over the Grizzles Saturday night at FedExForum. They outscored the Grizzlies, owners of the NBA’s top record, 32-13 coming out of intermission which included a 20-0 run. Lou Williams scored the final 11 points of the stretch, including three straight 3-pointers.
In their previous three games the Hawks blew late leads, holding on for two wins.
“At home we’ve been having trouble holding leads and giving them back,” said center Al Horford, who led the Hawks with his fifth straight double-double effort. “Tonight our focus was great.”
The Hawks (12-5) now have victories over all three Western Conference division leaders in the Grizzlies, Thunder and Clippers. They’ve won three straight and nine of their past 10 games.
Horford had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the win. Josh Smith scored a game-high 24 points with eight rebounds. Williams finished with 21 points, with 13 coming in the pivotal third quarter. Jeff Teague added 13 points to round out the double-digit scorers.
“I felt like I shot the ball well in our past game in Atlanta but I had four turnovers and no assists,” Williams said. “I really didn’t impact the game. I didn’t want to have another night like that. I got off to a slow start. I think I was 1-for-6 at halftime and it was looking like I was going to have another night where I didn’t impact the game. I just went out with a blaze.”
The Grizzlies (14-4) lost for only the second time at home and suffered their worst defeat of the season.
The Hawks trailed 47-41 at halftime and were down by as many as eight points in the second quarter. After an early imploring by coach Larry Drew to turn up their energy, the Hawks went on a 30-7 run, which included the 20-0 stretch.
In the decisive third quarter, the Hawks:
*Shot 60 percent from the field (12 of 20) while the Grizzlies shot 31.6 percent (6 of 19).
*Held a 13-7 rebound advantage.
*Had nine assists against two for the Grizzlies.
*Forced four turnovers, including three steals.
Horford said the key to the third quarter was Teague.
“He came in at halftime and you could tell that he was bothered by the way the first half went,” Horford said. “So he made an effort to play better and pick up the pace of the game and I think that was the difference.”
Teague said he focus was the run against the bigger Grizzlies.
“I just know that they are a really big team and we had to use our speed, athleticism, get up and down and cause havoc on the defensive end,” Teague said. “I challenged (Horford) and Zaza (Pachulia) and they responded. Zaza came out with the most energy and was banging on the boards.
“When we come out and play like that, we are a really good team. It starts with me. When I play with a lot of energy I think I play well. If I come out lackadaisical or sluggish it goes through the whole team. I put a lot of that on my shoulders. I thank Al for boosting me up.”
Pachulia’s effort won’t fully show in the boxscore. He had just one point, but he pulled down nine rebounds, fought for loose balls and defended Zach Randolph.
The Hawks led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter. The Grizzlies made a fourth-quarter run. Rudy Gay scored nine of his 17 points in the final period. The Grizzlies used a 9-0 lead to pull within five points, 75-69, but they get no closer.
“We did a really fine job, I thought, once we got a little bit of a lead we maintained our composure even when they made a couple of runs,” Drew said. “That’s just a huge, huge win for us – getting back on the road, having played last night, against a team that has the best record in the league.”
Next up, the Hawks travel to Miami to take on the Heat. The Hawks could make another statement of where they stand. They are not concerned with that.
“We are just playing,” Teague said. “We like staying under the radar. We are going to just keep playing and try to knock off everybody.”

This is what the NFL would call a signature win. People can’t just keep saying, “Well, they haven’t really played anyone.” They’ve played the, and beaten, the Grizzlies, the Clippers, and the Thunder,three teams expected to go deep into the playoffs this Spring. Atlanta now, I’m not talking Eastern conference finals for this team yet, but anyone that sleeps on them is making a huge mistake.

“If Hawks can beat Heat on Monday, they will own the 2nd best record in the East. Think about it. Early in the season, folks thought Hawks will be a lottery team.”
Not sure if folks on this blog remember me saying that the Hawks WILL be #2 in the East. They said I was drinking that Koolaid and smoking but I saw what this team could do with Horford FINALLY getting his hands on the ball and scoring w/o Joe pounding the ball while playing patty cake with Josh cause the ball NEVER went to Horford down low…well, well, well, look at here another dbl-dbl by him!! Both him and Josh are playing INCREDIBLE together with Teague, Lou, and Zaza all doing their part as well..YEP, im NOT afraid of Miami nor the Knicks..were coming to take that #1 spot, BABY!!

How do you figure, the Hawks are operating on the cheap.
They are currently in the middle of the League in $alary.
They are above the cap but have not crossed the lux tax line.
No the are not the LALakers, nor are they nowhere near the bottom;
Houston if I`m not mistaken.
yes, LD is working for a low-ball salary.

Major Observation !
1st half … Josh hung around outside.
2nd half … Josh went to the block and posted up.
This provided Two muho needed advantages:
(1) Josh is uber effective on the right block
(2) It created a double team,
therefore, our ‘`real`’ shooters were open outside

high sider it is hard to say these guys are going the cheap route at any position except coaching where ld is a huge bargain at victory per dollar. one cant even call out the owners for doing vet minimums where the league pays a portion of the salary. that was their ploy the last few years where they got the “coaches in the clubhouse” players en masse. it is also refreshing to watch as the bench comes in with a flourish and have some room to get better.

12-5. Hmmm…. Might the Hawks be a real story for Atlanta fans yearning for a winner? D Ferry obviously knows what he’s doing. This was supposed to be a team that might out score teams on occasion, but look who they’ve beaten and how. There is some serious D being played. J smoove and Al are possibly the best 3-4 combo in the East. One Laker implosion away from trading for Dwight (for a bunch of draft picks) and being a legit threat to topple the East! Here’s a little perspective for you [Jamal Crawford critics/haters]. Jamal Crawford, a Clippers’ non-starter, is currently averaging 17.9ppg. The Hawks currently have five players who average double figures in points per game. These [Hawks] players include the following:
Josh Smith – 17.0ppg
Al Horford – 16.6ppg
Lou Williams – 14.2ppg
Jeff Teague – 13.6ppg
Kyle Korver – 10.8ppg
Oh yeah, btw, Jamal Crawford also currently leads the NBA in FT % [0.950]. How’s that for an undisciplined, streaky, bad-shot taking chucker?

I wasn`t so much correcting,
as I was [maybe] pointing out a misperception.
When we unloaded Joe [same for Marv];
we had to take back equal $ in contracts.
The advantage for our Hawks was:
we recieved exp contracts instead of Joe`s albatross.
With Marv – we also recieved an exp contract.
Both deals give us flexibility next summer.
If I`m not mistaken;
we are paying out roughly the same as a yr ago.
As doc said;
we have an inexpensive coach – who`s doing a bang-up job.
The Hawks in past yrs – spent $;
the problems have been poor decisions
and in my opinion the Lack of a “Winning Culture”.

Message to the “Fire LD” and “Fire Woody” crowd. The Knicks and [the] Hawks are currently in first and third place in the Eastern Conference Standings, respectively, while the Lakers and [the] Blazers are currently in 11th and 12th place, respectively, in the Western Conference Standings which means both teams [Lakers and Blazers] wouldn’t make the playoffs if the regular season ended today [or tonight for that matter]. D’Antoni never coached the Hawks. Stotts barely coached the Hawks. Obviously this blog is going to talk about LD and Woody more than coaches who haven’t had anywhere near the same impact on this team.
I’ll say this, though — based on the first 17 games of this season, LD is a lot closer to being Coach of the Year than being fired.

I`m not sure what your getting at.
I have never said fire LD / at least I do not think I have.
This yr, I predicted his demise.
That is much different from calling for his dismissal.
Last yr I was LD`s advocate. (LD did an admirable job)
He also showed growth [as a coach] during the season.
Ask Rusty if you do not believe.
This yr I have been openly critical.
I think he has been deserving of any criticism he recieves from me.
Most of my expostulation has been:
handling of players, communication, consistency of message,
player rotation, favoritism, uneven guidelines,
lack of a clear philosophy, etc.
His X`s and O`s have always been fine with me.
Now Wdsn – that`s another story !
He was guilty of all the above;
PLUS;
he was weak on X`s and O`s.
Worse than all that;
he was not a teacher of the game of basketball.
AND;
the man is obtuse !
D`Antoni does not coach the Hawks;
and I was not a contributing member of the blog when Stotts was here.
I realize I`m not everyone – but that`l have to do – for me.
By the way;

I think DFerry has brought that mind-set.
If what you say is true:
” i also think that is what ld started last year

then DFerry certainly assisted LD, by making sure the

that Ferry has his back and all those criteria are organizational.
Therefore LD ain`t out on a limb by himself.

Woody in his last two years as the Hawks head coach won 100 games and 53 games in the final year of his [Hawks] contract. Then, he [Woody] takes over as the Knicks head coach last year and now currently has an overall record as Knicks head coach of 32 – 10; that’s a winning percentage of 0.762, But he [Woody] can’t coach and the “Filipino kid” [Coach Spoelstra] can [coach]? Might I remind you that the Heat have three future HOFers (LBJ, D-Wade, and Bosh) – now, four future HOFers if you include Ray Allen – with one future HOFer [LBJ] who is most likely to be acknowledged as the best all-around basketball player the game [of basketball] has ever witnessed when he [LBJ] retires. LBJ will make [almost] any [basketball] coach “look great.” In his last two seasons as the Cavs head coach, Mike Brown won 66 and 61 games, respectively. What is his [M. Brown's] employment status at the moment? BTW, how are the Cavs doin’ [right] now [without LBJ]?
FYI, Grandad, it’s [almost] always about race [and money].

“Jamal Crawford started off by scoring the first seven points as the Clippers went on a 17-4 run to lead 102-87 less than four minutes into the final quarter. He finished the period scoring 13 points for Los Angeles, and ended the game with 21. Crawford is leading the NBA in fourth-quarter scoring, averaging 7.9 points per game. Crawford also leads the league by having scored 20 or more points off the bench in 10 games this season, and the Clippers are 8-2 in those games. One more thing Crawford is excelling at this season is free throws. He made four in the game to extend his consecutive free throw number to 55. Crawford is shooting 94.7 percent this season, and has not missed from the stripe since Nov. 3.” – examiner.com

Horford is mr. consistency with his double-doubles, but Josh is the wild card. When he plays well, this team can be special.

I am just about ready to take back all I’ve said about LD. Not sure it wasn’t warranted before so maybe he has just mproved with experience. I know this, not a lot of teams looking forward to playing this Hawks bunch right now. Beating people on the boards, causing turnovers and running the floor really makes them a tough team. Lot of weapons and good balanced scoring
Josh is playing great right now. Knocking down shots, great passing, defense, rebounding. Al and Teague also making his team go with Lou, Devin, Deshawn kind of taking turns pushing us over the top. Go Hawks, sign LD to an extension.

i liked jc1 as much as the next guy and cheered him on. i also watched him refuse to play defense or put energy into it. clips in their market have more money to spend and he got some of it so good for jc1. he took some risk to get it as well, the american way and won so good for him. he doesnt bring as much value to present hawks. again i say; by having to move some he finally got it that he needed to work on his game, so again, cudos to him.

My concern playing Josh at the 3 would be foul trouble.. He does not have the quickness advantage anymore, in fact he would be at a disadvantage.His on ball defense is not his strong suit..
- SlimJr… last night Josh was a beast. Rudy Gay, who averages 19 ppg, scored 17, but only made 7-25. Actually Josh at SF appears not to be as quick, but certainly makes them pay on the other end, as he finished with a season’s best 24.

Great win by the team last night – very impressive. Love the numbers a healthy Horford is putting up now that he’s getting the ball consistently. That’s why he’s an All Star. Very impressed by the defensive tenacity the team has shown thus far as well. If they can maintain that, the sky’s the limit. Miami will be another litmus test, and I expect us to win it. They’re struggling a bit now, and we always seem to play well in Miami.

SLIM JR-You are exactly like a scratched record that repeats the same BS over and over again in a very annoying way. Surely you have enough intelligence to recognize or focus on something other than Al Horford. Are you really that sick? Only a very child like mentality can repeatedly get any sort of pleasure or satisfaction out of repeating the same theme over and over.
If your goal is to get on everyones nerves, and drawing as much attention to yourself as possible, then you’ve succeeded. Otherwise, you appear to be far to limited intellectually and basketball wise to engage anyone in intelligent discussions that involve anything other than bashing Al Horford. What’s really sad is you don’t seem to be intelligent or cognizant enough to realize you’ve long since become a broken record.

if LD goes into day one with a line up of Teague, Harris, Korver, … he will be fired within 2 weeks.
So… let’s hope that he does start that line up
Actually VaVa74, opening day against the Rockets, Harris and Korver started. So far this season, they are 2-1. I am sure we will see it a lot, and I doubt LD will get fired. Some on this blogs save he may be COY.

“I felt like I shot the ball well in our past game in Atlanta but I had four turnovers and no assists,” Williams said. “I really didn’t impact the game.”
This quote actually made me proud. Yes he shot 80% that game but his TOs and zero assists probably accounted for lost points thus allowing the opponent to capture momentum. There are multiple ways to impact a game without a pretty stat line.
If the Hawks keep this up Jsmoove is primed for his first all star appearance. He and Al just have to keep attacking while making most of their free throws and they will rep us in the all star game.

Keith – you were wrong then, you are wrong now. Josh played SF against one of the top SF in the league and held his own. He also had a great outside and inside game. If he can consistently play as he did last night – MAX DEAL. Yes, he did take clutch shots in the 4th quarter.

LOL at anyone judging this team after 1 game.
Hell LOL for anyone judging Boston and the Lakers even if their 0-3 or 0-2 this isn’t a 10 game season nor is 66 like last year it’s 82.
Honestly Early weak link for me right now is Tolliver he looked lost out there.
Jeff Teague and Devin Harris plus Lou Williams will work nicely. Josh and Al both probably need more time with the rest of the team to start building up that chemistry.
Right now I pick this team to be between 40-44 wins at a minimum and 46-48 at a max. I knew we would be taking a step back, but this pain is one I can endure because I know we have a brighter future.
Ray – truly a man of your word. You called it on Tolliver (well almost all of us did), you did not panic after the first game loss and actually saw potential in the team. The next time you play the lottery brother, let me know!

A great win last night. Crawford is one of the most creative players ever…..wherever he plays….
Woody wasn’t a very good coach in Atlanta…go back and watch all the times when adjustments obviously had to be made and were not…..The game where Kidd bumped him on the court…….the collapses in crucial games, the incredible inconsistency of the team. he should have been fired and will always and forever more should have been fired.
But as for the Knicks and what he has done there….I’m totally impressed.
Same for the Hawks. I listened to the Memphis announcers after the game…..the Hollins interview…..They were impressed with the Hawks as well, like actually giving this club some respect and wondering how they could beat us in the future. Hollins said the Hawks beat the Grizzlies in every aspect of the game…

I thank you for that, but I’ve said some things at times that were pretty bad. Like for awhile I’ve been on the LD being fired and what not, but I’m going to hold my tongue this time.

I did include all pro teams in my original post. Only reason I didn’t mention UGA and Tech is because the HAVE won championships–albeit decades ago. Can’t say the same for ATL’s pro teams (except the ‘95 Braves), who’ve played a combined 156 seasons with only that Braves title to show for it.
This year obviously shows promise, with both Hawks and Falcons playing exceptionally well, but we’ve been disappointed so many times before–most recently with the Braves again. To paraphrase Grandad, we MUST develop a “culture of winning,” and that will require overcoming nearly a half-century of futility.

Larry Drew Observing, Meeting With Maccabi’s David Blatt
Sep 12, 2012 11:14 PM EDT
Atlanta Hawks’ head coach Larry Drew went to Israel recently to meet with and observe Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach David Blatt.
“Larry respects the international game and is enjoying the opportunity to share ideas with David Blatt,” Danny Ferry wrote in a text message. “David is a heckuva coach and I know that Larry appreciates that David has been so open. I know Larry is enjoying the opportunity to closely watch [Maccabi's] program. It is a highly respected program.”
Blatt also coach the Russian team to the Bronze medal in the 2012 Olympics.

Great win last night, very impressed by the team. Have been playing well lately. Josh needs to keep taking it inside. The key with the Hawks playing better this year is that they are actually playing 5 against 5 offensively as opposed to 5 against 4 with Marvin Williams on the floor. Everyone on the floor is a threat. I have said that for the past 5 years. The team is still flawed, but I have confidence that Danny Ferry knows that and will work to correct it.

The whole concept of one player playing iso basketball was flawed even if you had a Kolby or Lebron on your team it was still no good. The whole iso joe thing brought the team down. Woody & then Drew holding on to the concept doomed the team. Ferry recognized this & quickly dealt with it, Josh,Al & JT have great ability & heart, I think Ferry also was aware of this. I still don’t think that much of LD foe his substitution patterns,his favorite players bullcrap & his stubborn ways.i really think that Ferry has big input with LD ’s coaching but what makes this team good is there is there need to be a real good team.

Maybe early, but I look at this team is trending in the right direction win or loss because we did two great things this offseason finally got a great GM, and unloaded two pieces that hindered us in the long run. One hindered us very badly and it wasn’t Joe Johnson as you might think.
He did hinder us, but only when it came to free agents signing on Marvin Williams hindered us badly because as we’re seeing in Utah he’s as bad as we thought he was originally.

Two things are finally happening or at least people are taking notice.
Josh Smith at SF was NOT a BAD IDEA that’s where he should be. Yeah I still get onto him about taking those shots, but SF is where he should be.
Zaza at Center gives us a greater chance to win. If we had a legit Center behind Zaza this wouldn’t be a issue maybe Danny Ferry will go out and get one through draft/trade.
If we do get D12 I do understand Zaza having to be benched, but I will say if we can avoid D12 and get another Capable C I’d be happy.

Trust me, I’m the last person you need to be trying to convince how bad Marvin William is. The fact remains that it is early in the season. I have no idea what trending in the right direction means. If we lose next week to the Wizards we will be trending in the wrong direction. Its a marathon not a sprint.

I love what joe did for team, however the guys grew up and joe no longer fit with the growth of the team. The hawks actually brought in three guys with great basketball iq’s, Harris, Stevenson, and korver. One can’t undermine the significance of veteran players who bring what’s needed to the table, sometimes it’s not about skill level, sometimes it’s knowledge and teaching. Guys like jc1 didn’t bring those attributes to the table and he can’t check anyone either.

Go back and find the blog / post where I “fact checked” myself.
I have already acknowledged that my 30 game prediction
was a mistake.
*please note – it was always a prediction and not a request.!?
My predilection had more to do with his method than his record.
However, a couple of weeks ago;
I came on the blog, hat in hand, and admitted I was wrong.
I continue to have reservations about LD;
although as I said many times a yr ago,
he continues to grow into the role of Head Coach.
He has many quirks and tendencies that I perceive as weaknesses,
which irritate the snot out of me.
Nonetheless, he is doing one fine job !
Final Thought:
If LD continues to lead the Hawks to Wins,
and as the Wins accumulate our team`s confidence grows accordingly,
all this leading to the Winning Culture of which I speak often,
then I`ll stand in line to nominate LD for C 0` t Y.

To jog your memory, you had disparaged those who praised the Bulldogs play in a close game. My question is this: In 1988, when ‘Nique scored 47 points in an epic Game 7 of the EC semis, the entire nation was praising him for playing so courageously in defeat. Did you praise ‘Nique’s great game, or did you just grumble that the Hawks lost?

Guys who can draw fouls at a high rate and convert at the FT line. Guys who can shoot the three ball better than Marv and Joe (To a lesser extent) ….and who cost less $$$

Actually, in regards to Marv and Devin, I’m sure Devin is playing a lot less minutes than Marv so take that back.

Grandad,
“…While Wdsn is a both contentious & contemptuous,
also feckless, dim, imperceptive, stolid, myopic, and a bully.” – Grandad @12:08am dated 12/10/2012
As Knicks head coach, Woodson is currently 33 – 11 [.0750] overall and [is] 19 – 1 [0.950] at MSG [Madison Square Garden]. I guess all those adjectives you used to describe Coach Woodson is working for him and the Knicks.
Would you use those same words/terms to describe “The General” aka Robert Montgomery “Bob” Knight? I’m sure you [Grandad] are aware [that] Woody played for “The General” at Indiana [University].

Festus Ezeli is not putting much of a dent in the box score even though he is starting for GSW in the absence of Bogut. However, he did have a game winning block against Bradley Beal. You can’t tell me a big, active body like that couldn’t help the Hawks more than a defensively challenged volume shooter. Jeff Taylor also has been called the best wing defender in the rookie class. Looks like we got the wrong player from Vandy.

Nice comparison Honesty. Obviously if ATL were playing Lou the same minutes Joe is playing for Brooklyn, he would have a higher scoring average. But for all the Joe haters, the fact remains this guy can guard both guard positions plus small forward. Lou’s PER looks good because it skews in favor of volume shooters and does not account for defensive impact.

I am most aware of the fact wdsn played for Coach Knight.
That was the foremost reason I wanted him hired as the Hawks coach
originnally.
Also I surely am aware of Knights characteristics that carried over.
Contentious, contemptuous, stolid, myopic, and a bully are five !
On the other hand; wdsn was born feckless, dim, and imperceptive.
Mule-headed, which I failed to mention and obtuse which I mentioned
the other day along with many, many times in years past …….
I`m quite certain these traits are hereditary, if not then environment
during his formative yrs.
Regardless of his current record – I am NOT a wdsn advocate !
I watched and admired wdsn as an IU player.
Also, to be honest, I have a couple of the above mentioned traits myself.
Mule-headed comes to mind quickly.
Contentious on occasion and I can be stolid as well [when I`m right].

Hawks have been the best team in Atlanta for five years now. Only Atlanta team to advance in the playoffs in that time (other than the Dream).

“R.f C.P.
You went to an AAU game expecting to see defense ?
Now that`s funny !”
So out of scouting report, coach and teammates the only thing you saw was AAU. I saw Dwight and Josh play defense in AAU games.

Grandad,
“I learned from being a go-to guy what I didn’t like,” Iguodala says. “Coaches tell you, ‘Get to the hole. Don’t settle for jump shots.’ So when I guard somebody, I want them to settle for jumpers—outside the paint but inside the three-point line—and then use my length to contest late.” [...]
“It makes no sense to me why so many good scorers can’t defend,” Iguodala says. “Like Lou Williams. He’s one of the toughest guys to guard in the league, but he can’t guard anybody. I don’t get that.”
Just in case you thought I was making stuff up. But I’m sure that you Grandad know much more than his teammates, his coach, and the scouting report. LOL.

“I think it was all taken out of context,” Young said Saturday before the Sixers played a crucial game against Orlando. “I think it was more of a joke than anything. We have always had inside jokes about Lou not playing defense. But we know what each and every person brings to the table. Dre probably said it, but it was taken out of context. Personally, when I heard it I knew he was playing, just because I know Dre.”
So the whole team has an inside joke about Lou Williams not playing defense in Philly, but because Grandad, Buddy Grizzard and Honesty think he plays better defense than Jamal Crawford, I’m supposed to take it as the gospel. OK.

BG – JJ sure held Ellis and Jenkins in check last night. After trading Marvin, we knew we needed a SF. Although there were no superstars out there, one guy is playing his a$$ off and will be a free agent again. He was a player whom I thought would be an impact player, but his entire career he has been a journey player. Finally, he is showing signs of the guy I thought he would be in college.

“@high-sider, to anyone who likes Jamal Crawford. I know he can score off the bench or whenever he is on the court. But if JC is a great assest why he has been on so MANY NBA teams?”
Same reason Robert Horry, Jason Kidd, Grant Hill and many others have played on MANY NBA teams. Unless you are a superstar, if you have a long career you will play for a number of teams.
————————————————————————————————————————–
Moses Malone – HOFer; NBA Finals MVP; played for nine different teams (two stints with PHI) and two professional leagues (NBA & ABA)
Shaquille O’Neal – future HOFer; 3-time NBA Finals MVP; played for six different teams
Chris Webber – (likely) future HOFer; 5-time All-Star; posted career averages of 20.7ppg, 9.8rpg and 4.2apg, 1993 -1994 NBA Rookie of the Year; played for five different teams (two stints with GSW)
Bob McAdoo – HOFer; 5-time All-Star; 1972 -1973 NBA Rookie of the Year; 1974 – 1975 NBA MVP; 2-time NBA champion; played for seven different teams
Chaucey Billups – 5-time All-Star; 2003 – 2004 NBA Finals MVP; has currently made 1,787 3pt. field goals (5th all-time); played for seven different teams (two stints with DEN)
Sam Cassell – one-time All-Star; 2003 -2004 All-NBA (2nd team); 3-time NBA champion; played for eight different teams
Dale Ellis – one-time All-Star; 1986 – 1987 NBA Most Improved Player; made 1,719 3pt, field goals (7th all-time); scored 19,004 points throughout his career; played for seven different teams (two stints with SEA)
As you can see, some “great assets” (players) have played for multiple teams throughout their careers. If you are talented, don’t be surprised if you are pursued (by others).

Lou Williams plays better defense than jamal.. that Denver turnover was because of Lou Williams playing defense which led to a Josh Smith dunk. What has CP3 Melo & Deron ever done to earn their max on teams w/ no playoffs, 1st & 2nd round playoffs knockouts.Josh w/ a new team has taken the New Jersey players further than Deron Wiliams did…Remember we took guys from a 22-44 team.We took the Nets “worst” players and gave them our “best” player & come out working really hard. That’s progress.How many 3’s do you hear Stevenson taking this year that he didn’t take in Jersey. Or Morrow playing D he didn’t do in Jersey

You know that you are having a good regular season when the Doubting Thomases keep suggesting that it is “too early” or “wait until the playoffs”.
While I doubt that we maintain this pace, I am enjoying this section of the rollercoaster ride. I find it far more fun and entertaining than what may happen at some point later in the season (e.g., a 3-4 game losing streak).
