Vivlamore reporting.
The Hawks will go with a smaller starting unit against the Nuggets. Jeff Teague, Devin Harris, DeShawn Stevenson, Josh Smith and Al Horford will get the starting assignment against the bigger five from the Nuggets.
“Sometimes you’ve got to roll the dice,” Hawks coach Larry Drew said of his lineup decision. “I’m really going on feel with this. Instead of always adjusting to the other team, sometimes it’s good to go with your guy and see if they adjust to you or see if it works. With the lineup that we are going with I do like the fact that we are a lot faster. We do give up size. At some point in the game that lineup is going to change and we’ll get bigger. I really going with feel on this.
“Some things that I really like about the smaller lineup is the fact that again, particularly at home, we’ll be able to get up and down much better. I would anticipate more pick-and-roll basketball with both Devin and Jeff.”
Also, John Jenkins did make it back from his D-League assignment and will be available.
“It was really fun to go out there and see the ball go in a few times,” Jenkins said. “… There is definitely some talent down there. There are a lot of guys fighting for spots to come up here, so they want to impress people. I knew me being a call-down there would be pressure on me, with those guys trying to go at me. I had to match their intensity and go at them, too.”

Just was has D Stevenson done on defense that’s so special that it covers up for his horrific offense compared to Morrow?? Im convinced the perfect coach for this squad would be Don Nelson.

Can’t believe there are still people saying Drew is the reason Teague had a chance. Drew had no choice but to play Teague heavy minutes in the Bulls playoff servies because of Hinrich’s injury. If Hinrich did not get injured Teague would still be a bench warmer.
If anything we should be giving Hinrich credit for giving Teague the opportunity.

You are much like Rush Limbaugh and Republicans in general.
They spout this and that about thus and so,
without any grasp of nuance.
According to John Boehner there is only one way to fix the economy.
-His Way-
Now;
about winnin` and losin` …
I detest the soccer mom concept of not keeping score;
of eliminating dodge ball from schools,
No winners, No Losers, worryin` about everbody`s self concept !
I`m with you on that.
However, we`re talking `bout two completely seperate things here.
That fb game Sat nite was a classic.
` Twas a shame either team had to lose.
But;
I`ll also say this;
“It was The National Championshipo Game”
as far as i`m concerned.
Listen up Rod;
I`ve competed [as a Coach] in almost 1,900 athletic contests,
in five different sports, two genders.
I`ve served as an Ath Director as well.
Don`t lecture me on competition !
Yes – there is Nuance.
The clock ran out on my Dawgs
as they spent themselves on a worthy cause.

Whining about rebounding one min …….
rollin` the dice with a small line-up the next.
The native Americans would say:

LD and Urban Meyer cut from the same cloth.

Losing confidence in this coach. I do not remember any team in recent memory who had different starting line-ups as frequently as this guy. I believe you should always start the same 5, then make adjustments if they are not working. We all need routine to maximize our productivity…

Lou and Zaza were fantastic in that half. Teague needs to step it up. He is getting used by Lawson on both ends of the floor. Morrow should play more. Hawks were having a hard time knocking down outside jumpers and spacing the floor well at times in that half.
Jon Barry seems unusually curmudgeonly today, and this play by play guy is pretty bad. Magic Johnson is just brutal on that studio show. If they just had Jalen Rose, Bill Simmons, and Wilbon, it wouldn’t be that bad, but Magic is like the Joe Johnson of that crew — when they throw it to him, he just kills any flow they had going.

This Hawks team is really dependent on the 3 to score consistently, so with Korver out it’s nice to see Stevenson knocking them down. Ivan has played well in spurts at SF on D this season, but he has struggled a little on that end in this game. The Nuggets’ perimeter players are a little too quick for him to guard consistently. Zaza did have a big 2nd quarter while Mozgov was in, but he wasn’t the reason he had 11. Z was the beneficiary of some amazing ball movement and in the second quarter scored on Mozgov via a shooting foul which earned Zaza one FT and an and one. Also in this second quarter Mozgov grabbed 5 rebounds (2 OR, 3 DR) against Zaza before he was replaced by Brewer for the rest of the half.

2) With Al Horford as the leading scorer (and Josh right behind him by half a point).
3) With the leading scorer at less than 17 ppg.
4) And LD at the helm.

Mozgov is a big defensive liability. His D is mediocre at best. He scored all the easy points due to Denver’s guards giving him ball and he was standing alone under basket. His two PF’s in the last minutes cost game for Denver. Mozgov has no his own game whatsoever, he is a spectator mostly…

Big defensive liability? Eh. Foul prone? Yes.
Zaza got easy points just like Mozgov, guards found him IN THE PAINT and put him in a position where he had the highest chance to score either by dunking it, laying it up, or getting fouled. The 4th PF on Mozgov came on a play where Josh got the ball to bounce literally in his hands if I’m Denver I’m not mad at my guy trying to foul a 50% FT shooter with the game close. His 5th PF was Lou Williams coming full speed at him and Lou being as crafty as he is gave Mozgov no choice but to foul those were fouls ANY big man would commit.

Very good win tonight, the guys actually brought it on the boards! Nice work by Horford and Zaza, and really good defense for Stevenson and Lou. Teague really got worked by Lawson, but I think Ty got tired at the end which help cause those turnovers. The HAWKS have really taken advantage of being at home and playing several weaker teams over the last few weeks. Once they play some tougher teams I think their record will weaken some, but they’re definitely a 7-8 seed at the least right now.

A trap game tonight perhaps and on ESPN? Hmmmmm
Rod from College Park dropping step back 3’s like free throws!!!! Bang!
too funny, slimj rod had to change his tune when he found out shaq had more blocks than d12 during that time span
that while he ws doing soft statistics, when he was trying to extrapolate the career numbers of shaq with obvious down side to a youthful short number of years of d12 being in the league. then it became about rebounds. dont know if shaq might have done better in stats to have started out in the nba rather than at lsu. different times for sure.
shaq was the man, period, on both sides of the ball, never complained and did his job. only kareem was better in my book. kareem would have made d12 look like melting butter.
d12 is a wimp. josh smith has twice the guts and balls of d12, just saying. josh isnt talking about next year, d12 is because more is expected of him and it is going south on him. he doesnt like accountability nor being the man. he is in chris bosh’s league. it would be karma if his peak is under svg. as sheed yells loudly, “ball dont lie”.

nobody wants Pau Gasol.
You people are really getting on everybody’s nerves with that nonsense.
Gasol has the same listless demeanor as Joe Johnson with a comparable horrible contract and he’s not athletic and on the wrong side of 30. He has no physical or mental toughness. Why would we give up cap flexibility to sign that fool???
We are not trading JSmoove or Al Big Dog Horford for no Pau Gasol so zip it. That combo scares teams trust me.
