Vivlamore reporting.
The Hawks will go with a smaller starting unit against the Nuggets. Jeff Teague, Devin Harris, DeShawn Stevenson, Josh Smith and Al Horford will get the starting assignment against the bigger five from the Nuggets.
“Sometimes you’ve got to roll the dice,” Hawks coach Larry Drew said of his lineup decision. “I’m really going on feel with this. Instead of always adjusting to the other team, sometimes it’s good to go with your guy and see if they adjust to you or see if it works. With the lineup that we are going with I do like the fact that we are a lot faster. We do give up size. At some point in the game that lineup is going to change and we’ll get bigger. I really going with feel on this.
“Some things that I really like about the smaller lineup is the fact that again, particularly at home, we’ll be able to get up and down much better. I would anticipate more pick-and-roll basketball with both Devin and Jeff.”
Also, John Jenkins did make it back from his D-League assignment and will be available.
“It was really fun to go out there and see the ball go in a few times,” Jenkins said. “… There is definitely some talent down there. There are a lot of guys fighting for spots to come up here, so they want to impress people. I knew me being a call-down there would be pressure on me, with those guys trying to go at me. I had to match their intensity and go at them, too.”

No, it did not pay off at all! He allowed too many points for Horford and others…

Drew went to a different direction. He did not choose to play Zaza but instead made team quicker. Now this paid off as one can see…

Horford scored on McGee just as much as Mozgov, Al just had an amazing night offensively and couldn’t be contained.
On another note…
Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes
Nicolas Batum says yesterday he had dinner w/former #Blazers Greg Oden. Batum says he looks good & is planning a return to NBA next season.
Would never sign the guy to a long-term contract but he’d be interesting to look at as an option.

Guess we should have Lou guard Iguodala every time.

Keith, Horford is better than Josh. Trade Smoove for Pau. AL & Pau equal biggest, strongest, best frontcourt in all of basketball.

Teague’s defense has reached Mike Bibby proportions. I saw old ass Andre Miller blow by him like he wasn’t there. -18 in 29 minutes… ouch.

Very good win tonight, the guys actually brought it on the boards! Nice work by Horford and Zaza, and really good defense for Stevenson and Lou. Teague really got worked by Lawson, but I think Ty got tired at the end which help cause those turnovers. The HAWKS have really taken advantage of being at home and playing several weaker teams over the last few weeks. Once they play some tougher teams I think their record will weaken some, but they’re definitely a 7-8 seed at the least right now.
GO HAWKS!

Did you ever see Mozgov driving towards basket and attacking the rim? I did not.

A trap game tonight perhaps and on ESPN? Hmmmmm
Rod from College Park dropping step back 3’s like free throws!!!! Bang!
too funny, slimj rod had to change his tune when he found out shaq had more blocks than d12 during that time span
that while he ws doing soft statistics, when he was trying to extrapolate the career numbers of shaq with obvious down side to a youthful short number of years of d12 being in the league. then it became about rebounds. dont know if shaq might have done better in stats to have started out in the nba rather than at lsu. different times for sure.
shaq was the man, period, on both sides of the ball, never complained and did his job. only kareem was better in my book. kareem would have made d12 look like melting butter.
d12 is a wimp. josh smith has twice the guts and balls of d12, just saying. josh isnt talking about next year, d12 is because more is expected of him and it is going south on him. he doesnt like accountability nor being the man. he is in chris bosh’s league. it would be karma if his peak is under svg. as sheed yells loudly, “ball dont lie”.
nice win by the guys. in co and was able to listen to the first half on nugget radio, interesting and our hawks get some cred here. also funny to hear pro laker guy, magic, saying that hawks need gasol.

nobody wants Pau Gasol.
You people are really getting on everybody’s nerves with that nonsense.
Gasol has the same listless demeanor as Joe Johnson with a comparable horrible contract and he’s not athletic and on the wrong side of 30. He has no physical or mental toughness. Why would we give up cap flexibility to sign that fool???
We are not trading JSmoove or Al Big Dog Horford for no Pau Gasol so zip it. That combo scares teams trust me.
