The Hawks (7-4) will go for their fifth consecutive win in tonight’s game against the Clippers (8-4) at Philips Arena. Los Angeles will be trying to avoid its third consecutive loss.
The Hawks will be without Devin Harris, who is dealing with an injured left big toe. Harris’ status is day to day. In addition, coach Larry Drew said they are monitoring DeShawn Stevenson, as they normally do when playing the second of back-to-back games.
Coach Larry Drew said the keys for the Hawks will be to:
The starting line up for the Hawks:
Zaza Pachulia 6.3 ppg
Al Horford 16.2 ppg
Kyle Korver 11.3 ppg
Josh Smith 15.0 ppg
Jeff Teague 13.3 ppg
Clippers (probable):
Caron Butler 9.2 ppg
Willie Green 6.0 ppg
Blake Griffin 17.4 ppg
DeAndre Jordan 10.8 ppg
Chris Paul 15.5 ppg
The Clippers defeated the Hawks 89-76 in their only other meeting earlier this year, but the Hawks have won three consecutive games against L.A. at Philips.

I thought before the season that Morrow and Korver would be somewhat redundant, but Morrow is really cut more from the Lou/Jamal cloth than Korver.
Hawks’ second unit is really rolling. Good to see against one of the best benches in the league. Jamal has been a non-factor so far.

On the Morrow three that was a beautiful job by Teague not just to find him but to then track back through the path of the defender trying to recover to him.

This run has been great but they need to get Al and/or Josh back in the game. Zaza has played great but it’s asking a lot for him to guard Griffin.

Yeah… good timeout. Lou and Teague are forcing the offense right now because we’re not getting anything inside. Time to bring Josh and Al back in to close the half. Take your winnings and get out with this second unit LD.

Just because you have a height advantage doesn’t mean you should be posting up. That is not Anthony Morrow’s game. Get Al involved.

“They are pretty similar across the board, main difference being that Asik is a significantly better rebounder.”
I think just as significant is that Mozgov is a 70% free throw shooter. Asik can be exploited down the stretch in close games.

Is it a coincidence that Lou has played one of his best games of the year playing at SG alongside Teague? Maybe, but he continues to show that he is best suited to play SG, not PG.

Hawks are showing why they should have added a 3rd true PG during the off season. Tegaue can’t play 48 minutes, Devin can’t stay healthy and Lou is shaky when having to play more than token minutes at the point.

4 Hawk possessions with Lou at PG after Teague exited — 2 turnovers, 1 trip to the line thanks to a foul in transition, and an and-one for Al off a sweet pass from Lou. Could have been much worse.
