By the way I forgot to comment on this from a few blogs back. This is a great observation and I think there is no question that in the NBA’s efforts to build superstars, they have allowed Dwight Howard to get away with being a dirty player. If the guy commits 10 fouls in a game, he gets called for 5.
I don’t blame Al for recognizing what a dirty business the NBA is and getting out of the way. Think about it, this year’s team has two enforcers, Zaza and Ivan. No way this Hawks team should back down from anybody.

Not convinced that Stephenson will be here for the long haul, although I assume that Ferry might see in him a guy who can pass on some “championship knowledge” and maybe be the defensive specialist which is dusted, polished and rolled out of the closet for marquee match ups.

I have a gut feeling that JJ2 will be a great player in the NBA. Will reach All-Star level.
There is something intangible in him that makes me think that. I think it’s an amalgamation between his shooting mechanics (flawless), his confidence and his apparent work ethic.
It’s bound to work IMO.
