Knicks at Atlanta Hawks: Game thread
12:59 pm April 22, 2012, by Michael Cunningham
- Larry Drew initially said he would start Jason Collins at center but left open the possibility of changing the lineup if Tyson Chandler doesn’t play. It turns out Chandler will sit, Landry Fields starts and Amar’e Stoudemire is at center. Drew will counter with Josh Smith at center and Marvin Williams at power forward.
- Zaza Pachulia remains out and Drew said he’s still not sure if he will be available for the start of the playoffs: “I’m hoping so. He’s certainly doing better than, from my understanding, what they had anticipated. There is some progress with the injury and where he is with it.”
- Al Horford put his chances of being ready for the first round at 70 percent. Drew: “We are keeping our fingers crossed but we are not totally counting on him. We don’t want to have wishful thinking. When they told us about the surgery that the probability would be very slim so at that point made our mind up we would not get him back.”
- Drew said he anticipates Horford would play “not very many” minutes if he returns: “We would have to work him in gradually. I wouldn’t want to throw him right into the fire. I know his conditioning is not very good because he’s been off for so long. It would be a gradual process to get him back adjusted. It will really be how he feels. When you lay off for that long it’s tough to get your legs under you.”

Great point by Doris there.
If people would actually listen to her analysis, instead of harping on the fact that she is female, you’d see that she’s dead on the money.
Then Teague drives right to the hole
JJ pitching a perfect game today . . almost.

Jeje . . once again, you’re not listening to Doris. She said in the first half that Josh’s chirping at officials and perception of a bad attitude may have kept him out of the All-Star game, despite she feeling that he was more than worthy to be on the team.
Good shot Marvin . . . just didn;t go down.

Hawks gets no respect. The Knicks have been running over the Hawks all game and don’t get call for a charge. Teague was getting bump all the way to the rim and get call for an offensive foul…

Big Lou . . he was wide open. You’re not going to get a better look than what he got. Any good 3 point shooter in the league takes that shot if they’re that open. He’s had it going today, so I have no problem with that shot.
Now if he were 2 – 8 FG, that would’ve been a horrible shot. But he was 6 – 7 FG with 2 made threes before that miss.
No problem with that shot whatsoever.
As Nique would say . . that was a “heat check”

northcyde,
Wasn’t it you who said our entire bench is garbage and that Willie and Pargo and even Kirk should NEVER play?
*****************
If I said that . . you better find that post. I’ve mainly harped on Vlad and Collins all year. Pargo was struggling early, but has played great since. When Kirk was struggling with the 2nd unit, I said that Green should get his minutes. Since he’s been a starter, he’s played much better.
Marvin still has it going from deep.
Teague showing some grit today. I love that shoulder block foul.
