rod, i agree with coaching and i have said with a better coach last year hawks beat chicago. hawks would never do t but jerry sloan is intrested in coaching again. dantoni dont know if hawks would look to him as well. sloan would be a better bet. more disciplined. dantoni is too much like pet carroll

another thing about the hawks that is somewhat depressing is the lack of young propects on thr team for thr futur. other than teague and maybe ivan johnson if hawks can afford him, where is the futuree?jj is past prime, horford and smith who knows. smith could be gone after next season.

LOL. while it is funny, can’t say I disagree. Some of these guys don’t understand the difference between a reguale season game, and a playoff series. Not only are our players overmatched, our coach is overmatched against all the other coaches except for Van Gundy.

The Knicks are figthing for their lives in the 8th spot. Not really worried about them right now. Their losing streak will come. If the Hawks take care of business over next 5 (favorable) games then they should be in prime position to challenge the Magic for the 3rd playoff spot.

303,

Its not just ATL. When Jeremy Lin hit the game winner for the Knicks in Toronto, the Toronto fans went crazy. You would think they were playing in NY.

In Detroit, Kobe hit a 3 at the buzzer to go to OT, and the Palace went crazy. Keep in mind that the Pistons actually beat the Lakers to win a ring some years ago.

It happens in alot of other arenas. But because we live in ATL and watch Hawks games, we feel like it’s only in ATL where you can find bandwagon fans. It’s not.

Great point..cause when I saw the Braves play in Tampa a few years ago, you would have thought you were at an indoor Turner Field. It was about as bad as when the Steelers played (and got beat by) the Falcons at the Dome some years ago and it was terrible towels everywhere that went home quiet.

Teague is still young but so is his position in the NBA. In the grand scheme of things, he may be mediocre at point. Not to say Jeff is below avg. just that the position has step up the level of talent. You gotta remember Devin Harris was considered on of the best a few years back now he would make my top 30 rankings. Just thinking about a guy like Dragic that is balling stashed behind Lowry.

Kemba and Teagues numbers are eerily similar. I consider Kemba like most a combo guard at best. I’ma do a breakdown of the top 30 point guards and see where and would rank Teague.

Cheerios or Shredded Wheat?

Whether fans cheer or boo is irrelevant to a player showcasing some fundamental basketball skills. Fans PAY to see a competitive, spirited and winning performance.

The game we lost in Denver is a perfect example of this. We weren’t mad because the Hawks lost, because they played great on the road.

When players make smart plays, the fans will cheer-io.
______________

If the Hawks players were cereal, what would you eat?
____________

Josh Smith – Grape Nuts
Joe Johnson – Captain Krunch
Ivan Johnson – Cocoa Puffs
Al Horford – Corn Flakes
Kirk Hinrich – Special K
Jeff Teague – Rice Krispies
Marvin Williams – Kix
ZaZa Pachuila – Fruit Loops
Tracy McGrady – Frosted Flakes
Jason Collins – Trix
Willie Green – kashi (go lean)
Janero Pargo – Lucky Charms
Jerry Stackhouse – Old Fashioned Quaker Oats
Vladimir Radmonivich – Shredded Wheat

Shoulda traded Horford + Marvo for KG’s crazy ass. All these people talking about youth…KG’s healthy Hall of Famer and Horford’s uncoordinated and awkward. Always rehabbing and always has knee or ankle injuiries come playoffss.

Horford better do something BIG-TIME come playoffs.

Jason got “Trix” because he is a one-trix pony (see Dwight).
Marvin got “Kix” because he can go Kix-Rocks.
TMac got Frosted Flakes for his gray hair and flaky comments to the media. Joe got “Captain Krunch” because his iso-joe in the 4th (so, why go away from him in the 4th?) Do you really want Teague and Zaza taking that shot?

Teague got “Rice Krispies” because, when he is On – he is Popping! Josh got “Grape Nuts” because, when he goes Ape – he drives us nuts. Horford got “Corn Flakes” because, he plays bland. Zaza got “Fruit Loops” because he is a goon and, will loop you. Willie Green got “Kashi” (go lean) because he hurt, so he leaning on furniture right now.

Hey we got our butts whipped last night, plain and simple. Ye we got injuries, so what! That is no excuse to make bad plays. Everybody got injuries. Shot selection and making the right pass, and, letting your PG do his job has nothing to do with injuries. Last night was a very winnable game.

Leave Teague alone! Let him holla if he wants to! That was not taunting Ray, that was emotional exuberance and feeling good about yourself and your abiltiy! Bad call refs!!!

Here’s one I didn’t know of:

Kaboom! – General Mills (1969 – present: limited distribution). I think Sautee might eat these. LOL

Here’s another one for Marvin’s game:
Krumbles – Kellog’s (1913 – 1973 [approx])

Grape Nuts – Post Cereals
Freakies – Raslton (1972 – 1976)

Here’s the link to view and pick your favorite player’s game described on a cereal box:

Trivia:
The (years) reps the year on market.

We can all thank this guy for our milk-mates:

Granula – First manufactured breakfast cereal invented by James Caleb Jackson in 1863.

Granula works for Ivan Johnson! Monster Mash on the Hawks. Here’s one for Mike Bibby:

Grins & Smiles & Giggles & Laughs – Ralston (discontinued).
That’s what Mike bought to the locker room and Woodson allowed this? Yes he did, Bibby kept the young guys loose and they played with fun-ness. But like most games … They end and become discontinued. I liked Mike though, a nice and fun guy. Joe said, “Mike Bibby was the best team mate I ever had. I will really miss him.”

Don’t hate the PLAYER – Hate the/(his) game. LOL

“And, I don’t buy the arguement that it’s the ASG. We live in a sh#t sports town. Any debate about that (and I have defended Atlanta fans many times) ended with the Boston Garden South fiasco last night.”

You must not have watched the regular season Heat-Celtics or Suns-Celtics games last year when the arena was half full of Boston fans chanting “Let’s Go Celtics” there too. The Celtics and Lakers have a ton of bandwagon fans, and all warm weather cities have a) a lot of transplants and b) a lot of bandwagoners. There’s nothing special about Atlanta in that regard, except that Atlanta has had a longer run of pro sports futility than most other warm weather cities.

Hawks should waive Collins or Diamper. and signed JJ Hickson. Who I believe is from GA. With 20 something games remaining, his prorated vet min contract shouldn’t be too expensive. The Hawks are already in the luxury tax land, so they may as well pay tax on a guy who’s worth it….

I’d definitely rather have Lawson. Depending on the system, I might rather have Lin. The others are either no better than Teague now, no better than Teague will probably be in a couple of years (Conley), or too injury prone (Curry).
