Warriors at Atlanta Hawks: Game thread

  • Joe Johnson (knee) is in the starting lineup. Larry Drew said he will monitor how Joe feels to determine how much he will play. “I know with tendinitis the best thing for it is rest,” Drew said. “Hopefully these days off will benefit him.”
  • Drew said he doesn’t ever plan to make Joe a healthy scratch for the sake of giving him days off: “At this stage of the season, I don’t think it will be a case of giving him days to rest. If we do anything, we will cut his minutes down. Since the season is still in full bloom, we just have to grind it out with the way the season is. What we are cutting back on is the practice. Those are the recovery days now.”
  • Vladimir Radmanovic (ill) is out. “He’s had some problems with his stomach,” Drew said. “He missed shootaround, came to the arena to warm up and it started bothering him again. So we went ahead and just sent him home.”
  • Zaza Pachulia (calf) is active.
  • Erick Dampier’s second 10-day contract expired so the Hawks have to sign him for the rest of the season to keep him. They have yet to do so but said they expect to complete a deal tomorrow. Dampier is at the arena tonight.
  • No word on if Al Horford (chest) was cleared to begin rehab.
  • Jason Collins (elbow) said he’s scheduled to begin rehab Friday.
  • Stephen Curry (foot) is out for the Warriors.

Joe looked horrendous that entire first half. Hopefully he’s just off, and this isn’t because he tried to come back early from injury.

Yes it is that serious bigdave. Josh thinks he’s Jordan or Pippen, when he needs to be Rodman.

McGuire 11 boards, Joe 1 board.

Lee 7 boards, Josh 3 boards.

Both of them need to step it up.

Joe is terrible keeps taking long jumpers Coach shouldve benched him for T-Mac or Hinrich he’s played terrible thus far! But let Teague do half of what Joe Johnson has done and would never see the court again!

Things I learn from Hawks game commercials: Josh is the Hawks’ version of LeBron, Teague is the Hawks’ version of Jeremy Lin, and hummus will bring about world peace and interracial harmony.

LD has stepped outside of his gifts taking a HC position…He should stick to assistant coaching….

But Wade Phillips has done that for many years among others…..So you cant blame him?….

Making a quick run to Subway and switching to the POR-DEN game to see if Jamal is starting again at point guard. Hawks are frustrating.

There ain’t enough good head coaches to staff 30 NBA teams or 32 NFL teams, which is why you have LDs and Wade Phillipses head coaching teams. Problem is, Atlanta teams always seem to end up with the LDs and never with the Popoviches (Bobby Cox being the one glaring exception).

Hey, Joe Johnson does have 1 rebound so far. Only 1 more to beat his last 4 game average of 1.5
Man, I am on the edge of my seat to see if he can get 3. 1for 8 from the field. Yeah, it’s his knee.

Cavs all over the Knicks in MSG at halftime. Lin is still putting up numbers though, good for my fantasy team.

i honestly think the hawks would be better served starting
kirk joe marvin josh al. let kirk be the dribble driver and penetrate and get us into an offensive flow early then at 6 min sub teague for marv and let jeff attack the opposing 2nd unit. sub willie and Tmac accordingly and ivan/damp get some relief mins for the bigs.
i think with teague starting we tend to play a my turn to shoot style and we get little ball movement and become stagment.letting teague come off the bench will really benefit us with offensive continuity.

Is this the same Hawks team that came out to practice “rejuvenated” and “energized” from their much needed, long overdue rest during the All-Star Break that was going to solve all problems? Maaaan take that on somewhere….get some of these bums out of Hawks Jerseys
