Atlanta Hawks vs. Magic: Game Thread
Vivlamore back from NYC. Here is your quick game thread for tonight’s game against the Magic.
The news today is that Kirk Hinrich will start in the backcourt with Jeff Teague with Joe Johnson out.
Here is coach Larry Drew’s thoughts on the move:
“From a matchup standpoint, we like the matchups,” Drew said. “We play a little faster. Just to tweak it. See how both Jeff and Kirk play with one another. We’ve been wanting to experiment with that anyway. They’ve been out on the floor before so we will put them out there as starters and see if they can generate anything.”
The move allows Drew to use Willie Green off the bench, where he has provided a spark this season. Green started for Marvin Williams Monday in Chicago and for Johnson in New York Wednesday.
“Willie has been doing a really good job the last couple of weeks,” Drew said. “He’s done a really good job coming off the bench with his ability to score. Moving him back to the bench gives us that punch again.”
I’m a little behind after traveling this morning so take it away folks.

The “magic” act is over, the real Hawks have emerged yet again. No effort, no heart, no energy to start the 2nd half, Josh reverts to lazily hoisting long jumpers, teague wimps off the floor, ZaZa kicks the ball around and misses shots like a buffoon, Kirk airballs one and then gets beat on defense some more, pargo finally goes cold, and Vlad just stands around and occassionally commits a turnover just to get in on the action. Hawks outscored 25-11 as usual.

FIRE LARRY DREW IMMEDIATELY!!!! I mean how can we keep a coach around who constantly loses by 15,20, and 30 points a game, and when he is not getting blownout by 30 points, he is blowing 17 point leads at home in a SINGLE QUARTER!!! Do I really need to say anymore. Even if the Hawks hang on to win a game they were ahead by 17 points at halftime at home, the fact still remains that Larry Drew is the WORST coach in the league, and the Hawks will have failed to crack 83 points in 4 straight games…
