Atlanta Hawks at Lakers: Game thread
Los Angeles–It’s the usual starters for the Hawks. Steve Blake (ribs) is active for the Lakers.
- Jason Collins (elbow) has joined the team here but Larry Drew said it’s doubtful he will play on the trip. That means there’s a pretty good chance Erick Dampier will stick around for a second 10-day contract.
- Collins said the elbow is feeling a lot better and has a checkup with his doctor tomorrow. He’s eager to play. “Especially a game like tonight,” he said.
- Kirk Hinrich said he “feels great” physically and sounds as if he’s ready for more minutes: “I’m just staying patient.”
Hawks players gathered around Josh Smith’s IPad to watch Knicks underdog sensation Jeremy Lin hit a game-winning 3 at Toronto.

Can we get a number on everyone else’s 3-point attempts besides VladRad?
Josh starts with 10 and 4 about eight minutes in. With five minutes left he’s got 13 and 6. Wonder what happened…
JJ, typically passive against a marquee team, not even motivated enough to score 13 to get to a career milestone.
And, most importantly, when we’re getting dominated by the softer Gasol on the inside, Ivan doesn’t see the court to kick his $h!t in. Did he give LD a mean look on the plane?

Jeremy Lin didn’t learn how to play basketball just last week – coaches with bad judgment were holding him back before then. Well, Larry Drew is holding back the whole Hawks team – they have talent that is not being utilized effectively because they have an IDIOT for a coach. It’s a crying shame…

Turn out the LIGHTS………………the party is over. Next beat down will be in Phoenix tomorrow night. By the time the Hawks drag into Phoenix……………they will get blown out there. Will LD tip his hat after the game in his press conference? Why can’t this town pro teams ……….get good coaching? Look how Mark Jackson got Golden State playing! Was he interviewed for this JOB?

And if Drew is sending the right message, the players don’t seem to be buying ino or reacting to it.
Drew has always been incompetent on offense, horrible on substitutions, and idiotic on match-ups. I don’t even know why we even watch this team. They will not make it past the second round with this coach. He is truly worthless.

Thought that some of you interested in what’s in the HAWKS rearview mirror might like to know that JORDAN CRAWFORD schooled JAMAL CRAWFORD tonight in PORTLAND.
JORDAN plus 24 in 30 minutes while JAMAL was minus 26 in 23 minutes.
Off the bench, JORDAN went 9-16 [1-4 3pt]. 2-2, 21 pts, 2 rebounds, 4 dimes, 3 steals, 1 PF, 3 TO.

At least the Falcons have an owner who is willing to spend the money. They hire two new coordinators this year. I think they will do great in 2012-2013.

You don’t have to be Phil Jackson to see that LD is a horrible coach…he sucks at x’s and o’s and he sucks at managing his personnel. He doesn’t know how to make in game adjustments and it shows with his rotations. Tracy should be playing the ” point forward ” position..and should see more minutes with the starters …Josh and Joe don’t trust Teague which is why they continue to dominate the ball. LD puts together the weirdest combinations out on the floor that absolutely do not work ! Josh is already a crybaby..but its LD who brings out the worst in him because he lets him shoot continuously and then benches him without any coaching critique what’s so ever….Mgmt is no better because they are going to blame every loss on the fact that the team is doing well considering they lost Horford….Really ? I didn’t know Horford was a franchise type of player ? they keep using the excuse of not having Horford like he’s play is on the level of a Derek Rose or Dwight Howard…gimme a freaking break….this team has lost games because the coach doesn’t have a clue on how to maximize the talent on this roster as a collective and he lacks head coaching experience when it comes to managing personalities like a Josh Smith (erractic, selfish) Joe ( no passion..fight…change up in his game..)

When we play good defensive teams we cant score. Should have kept Jamal. Since we did not, we need to sign JR Smith or make a trade. If not we are done. BENCH MARVIN WILLIAMS. GIVE JOE A REDBULL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME. TELL JOSH HE IS NOT LARRY BIRD.

The problem with the Hawks is horrible ownership, which leads to horrible management, which leads to horrible coaches and drafting (in the past decade), which leads to undisciplined play on offense, which leads to zero trades because nobody wants to play here, which leads to another five years of useless Hawks basketball.
