Atlanta Hawks at Hornets: Game thread

Jeff Teague will start at point guard for the Hawks tonight against the Hornets. Teague said he felt “fine” despite the sprained ankle that limited him during Friday’s win against Pistons.

“Jeff is a go,” coach Larry Drew said before the game. “He was moving around on it pretty good yesterday. He hasn’t mentioned that it is bothering him to the point that we have to limit him. We’ll keep an eye on him. Right now, he is a full go.”

Drew said he would split reserve minutes between Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo.

“He has been playing really well for us,” Drew said of Pargo. “That’s why we got him.”

Hinrich, who played 31 minutes against the Pistons after Teague left late in the third quarter, said he is working to regain form as quickly as possible.

“I want to get my game back,” Hinrich said. “I feel rusty and I just want to help any way I can right now and get my rhythm back.”

* Austin Barker, a 17-year-old high school student from Mississippi scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this week, was the guest of Hawks trainer Wally Blase Sunday.

Barker, who is at Tulane Children’s Hospital, attended the game with his father and two friends. He received a hat signed by the Hawks.

The non-profit organization Sunshine Kids brought Baker’s situation to Blase’s attention. Blase worked with the Hornets to organize the outing.

Coach brought in Hinrich with 4mins left in the 1st Quarter and guess what happened? We got slow and started walking the ball up court!

Thats on Larry not Teague..Hinrich kept the game close..Teague came back in with 9mins left in the 2nd Qtr and guess what? The pace picked up and so did the lead increase….C’mon man…..

Thats because Teague quit ball hoggin and let JJ do his thing. You are only proving my point. Teague is a third or fourth option. If he gives the ball to the stars we win this going away. When teague is hoggin he disrupts the flow. Most teams will let teague beat you rather than JJ or Josh.

Your math proves my point.

Would you trade rose for Dwight so why would you trade Teague for him at least Teague wants to be here and play for a winner unlike Orlando Brooklyn Dallas and the rest of his giant fantasies!!

@northcyde

It’s the contract we don’t like and it’s not his fault it’s ASG signing that long a$$ expensive contract. It’s not worse than Jon Contract Koncak but it’s pretty bad.

Joe Johnson #3 SG in the league easily (Kobe & Wade…gotta give them that respect).

The appropriate people to blame for Joe’s contract are Sund and the DASG. He is overpaid but that is not his fault. If he is going to be criticized, he should be criticized when he doesn’t play well, not for the amount of money he makes. Dude isn’t even the most overpaid #2 in Atlanta.
