Jeff Teague will start at point guard for the Hawks tonight against the Hornets. Teague said he felt “fine” despite the sprained ankle that limited him during Friday’s win against Pistons.
“Jeff is a go,” coach Larry Drew said before the game. “He was moving around on it pretty good yesterday. He hasn’t mentioned that it is bothering him to the point that we have to limit him. We’ll keep an eye on him. Right now, he is a full go.”
Drew said he would split reserve minutes between Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo.
“He has been playing really well for us,” Drew said of Pargo. “That’s why we got him.”
Hinrich, who played 31 minutes against the Pistons after Teague left late in the third quarter, said he is working to regain form as quickly as possible.
“I want to get my game back,” Hinrich said. “I feel rusty and I just want to help any way I can right now and get my rhythm back.”
* Austin Barker, a 17-year-old high school student from Mississippi scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this week, was the guest of Hawks trainer Wally Blase Sunday.
Barker, who is at Tulane Children’s Hospital, attended the game with his father and two friends. He received a hat signed by the Hawks.
The non-profit organization Sunshine Kids brought Baker’s situation to Blase’s attention. Blase worked with the Hornets to organize the outing.

Wow! What is 6′10″ + 40″ I’m too lazy to figure that one. All that explosiveness and he had micor-fracture surgery too?
Jamal Mashburn and Penny Hardaway were the first to have that procedure and they were finished because the technology was so new, they didn’t know how to rehabilitate the athlete patient.
Doc said, once they got the rehab protocol down, the come back rate is 100% except for: Gregg Oden. I have no idea what his problem is? One knee and then the other, I think he has that aging disease. Oden looked like he was 85 years old on draft night.

heh heh, just saw a few other notes. i was going to ask about oden and say i have suspected the premature aging illness and saw you had already covered. i remember that year when folks were trashing someone for saying he would always have problems because he had one leg shorter than the other about 3 inches or so. the guy was absolutely correct.
posture makes a huge difference in longevity for the athlete and anyone for that matter. that is what i see and i am sure dmb as well and try to encourage for folks to correct for health. they dont believe me for the most part. the ones that get better, follow the docs suggestions, others just blame the messenger.
so slimj, sit up at that computer dude, take a few healthy breaths too and dont get caught in too many “head” issues, especially with trolls.

It’s a shame that ATL is the newest hip-hop capital of the world, but Toronto has a much better opening intro than anything the Hawks have ever come up with.
