Atlanta Hawks at Hornets: Game thread

Jeff Teague will start at point guard for the Hawks tonight against the Hornets. Teague said he felt “fine” despite the sprained ankle that limited him during Friday’s win against Pistons.

“Jeff is a go,” coach Larry Drew said before the game. “He was moving around on it pretty good yesterday. He hasn’t mentioned that it is bothering him to the point that we have to limit him. We’ll keep an eye on him. Right now, he is a full go.”

Drew said he would split reserve minutes between Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo.

“He has been playing really well for us,” Drew said of Pargo. “That’s why we got him.”

Hinrich, who played 31 minutes against the Pistons after Teague left late in the third quarter, said he is working to regain form as quickly as possible.

“I want to get my game back,” Hinrich said. “I feel rusty and I just want to help any way I can right now and get my rhythm back.”

* Austin Barker, a 17-year-old high school student from Mississippi scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this week, was the guest of Hawks trainer Wally Blase Sunday.

Barker, who is at Tulane Children’s Hospital, attended the game with his father and two friends. He received a hat signed by the Hawks.

The non-profit organization Sunshine Kids brought Baker’s situation to Blase’s attention. Blase worked with the Hornets to organize the outing.

OKC IS COOL BUT I DONT TRUST EM IN THE PLAYOFFS. THEY HAVE NOTHING NADA ZIP ZILCH IN THE MIDDLE OFFENSIVELY AND INTERIOR D AIN’T MUCH EITHER. EVERYTHING THEY DO IS FACE UP AND BEAT THEIR MAN OFF THE DRIBBLE. ANY TEAM WITH A DOMINANT LOW POST PRESENCE AND SOME DECENT SHOOTERS COULD KNOCK THE THUNDER OFF IN A 7 GAME SERIES.

“The Clippers are not well coached. They are beatable by a disciplined team.

OKC on the other hand is a legit title contender.”

BOTH TEAMS HAVE WEAK COACHES. BROOKS GOT EXPOSED BY CARLISLE SOMETHING SERIOUS IN LAST YEAR’S WEST FINALS. THE BEST COACHES IN THE WEST BY FAR ARE POP, KARL AND RICK AND ALL THREE HAVE LEGIT TEAMS WHEN HEALTHY THAT I MIGHT PICK IF THEY FACED OKC OR LAC IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Mr. Sund: We still need a big. Even if we get Hortford back we need more size.

On the ORL issues, If you want a GM who can gut a roster, you have to consider our very own BK. don’t let him control the draft though.
And let’s see what Ewing can do as an interim coach……I always thought he might be a good bench coach, but gets no consideration.

wow, ajc posts a stats article on the upcoming game in toronto. not good for hawks fans wanting something a little more insightful. not sure what is going on but seems the ajc has abandoned the hawks and its fan base on the internet anyway. not good.

MC? C-Viv? Guys?

Anyway, getting ready for the Raptors tonight….is Bargnani back?

The Hawks look to win four times on a five-game trip for the first time in more than 40 years when they face the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.

This is very doable…quite an accomplishment, no matter the level of competition.

A different scoring stat other than Joe scoring 20 or more, which we are 10-2in those games:

“Big games from Teague usually bode well for the Hawks, who are 11-1 when he scores at least 13 points and 4-5 when he doesn’t.”

Hawks have won 5 in a row over the Raptors and they are bad at 2-5 at home this year.

One other point, im sure most of you have never seen this name im using, Im not a troll, but im just acting like at troll. Its the Horford hater thats the troll. I dont think he gets it, We are sworn to defend Al, because he cant defend his self, (that self destructing muddeer fcker) neither can he defend the post. So you must understand Although it might seem like Im a troll, well this is actually a troll trap and Im a troll trapping Muddeer fcker.

Now back to my logic about how to best help Al keep a job.(did you see that mudder fcker self destruct? What the hell was he doing?)The best way to help Al keep a job is A)attach Josh. I know what you are thinking. Basketball Jones is a troll, and thats true, but attacking Josh will help because we have to get rid of somebody, Josh is the power forward and Al wants the position. I agree that he needs to be removed from the center spot cuz we cant have any more of that self destructing trick to avoid being traded chit from Al.So to make this work we need to convince the public that Josh is not working, then trade him, then put Al at the 4. I know its not going to be easy to convince the public but hey, do i look smart to you? Fck. Thats my point!

Also thats why Ive been talking with Bob Weiss about how to get this chit crackin. Bob and I have come up with a plan to spring OJ and put him and midcourt during the hawks next home game…. when Josh starts that fast brake chit me bob and OJ will be there…

I cant say too much because Hatter is watching.

Save the Whales!!

Save Al Horford!!

Bigman, I’ve heard of those leave of absence vacations companies are pushing to take vacation for 2 weeks without pay…..wonder if that is what we have here?
The policies of the AJC treat the Hawks like there’s no interest in the team in this city. What kind of operation are we dealing with here?

The AJC and ASKG have the same business model for success.

What we have here is: a failure to communicate. (in Bill Cosby’s voice). Oh well, besides DeRosen … the Raptors leave very little to talk about.

This game should be a cake walk, I surmise “The Replacements” could handle this game from start to finish and let zaza play 48 minutes to get some burn. Zaza has benefited the most from Horford going down and, has been fun to watch play.

Why does Atl. get no respect among the media “experts”, and I say that in jest. They are just 2 games out of the best record in the East? I hear Philly and Indiana as the dark horses.

DeRose-n (sic?) anyway … Can you see the similarity in DeRose-n’s name and DeRose’s game?

See what I did there?
