Jeff Teague will start at point guard for the Hawks tonight against the Hornets. Teague said he felt “fine” despite the sprained ankle that limited him during Friday’s win against Pistons.
“Jeff is a go,” coach Larry Drew said before the game. “He was moving around on it pretty good yesterday. He hasn’t mentioned that it is bothering him to the point that we have to limit him. We’ll keep an eye on him. Right now, he is a full go.”
Drew said he would split reserve minutes between Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo.
“He has been playing really well for us,” Drew said of Pargo. “That’s why we got him.”
Hinrich, who played 31 minutes against the Pistons after Teague left late in the third quarter, said he is working to regain form as quickly as possible.
“I want to get my game back,” Hinrich said. “I feel rusty and I just want to help any way I can right now and get my rhythm back.”
* Austin Barker, a 17-year-old high school student from Mississippi scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this week, was the guest of Hawks trainer Wally Blase Sunday.
Barker, who is at Tulane Children’s Hospital, attended the game with his father and two friends. He received a hat signed by the Hawks.
The non-profit organization Sunshine Kids brought Baker’s situation to Blase’s attention. Blase worked with the Hornets to organize the outing.

So Chauncey Billups will determine if I win my first fantasy basketball week. Currently up 6 – 5. But only up by one three pointer in that category. And the guy I need to miss from three throughout the 2nd half, is Mr. Big Shot . . Chauncey Billups. And he’s already made 2 in the game.
(( sigh ))
Dude needs to tweak an ankle or something. A Jeff Teague like sprain that will only put him out the rest of the game, not out for the next game.

Yeah Rev!
I grew up on the intersection of: Church St. and Edgefield Vae. At Eustis Park. I was just floored when I saw our house on the crime scene photo. The officerks blood was actually on our lawn. A family member lives there now and heard the three shots.
The neighbor who called 911 thought there was drug activity going on with the BMW and another car there for so long and so early in the morn.
In actuality, the perp was probably re-grouping from just murdering his girl and unborn child in their sleep from Augusta. He probably thought the officer was investigating that murder, paranoid! All he had to do was say he was lost and GPSing his locale. She would have assisted him. But he opened fire unnecessarily.
There will be a huge march at the park tomorrow.
My father’s step brother has a small church on the corner of Hampton Ave and Perrin St., Rev George Burchalter, JR. Do you know of him? He’s been there for many years. Rev George Burchalter, Sr was my Grandfather who died when I was 9 years old. A lot of history for me there. Glad I left though. Thanks for the kind words. I’m devastated.

No need to compare Willie and Jamal. Both good at what they do. Difference is this year we actually have other good players on the 2nd team like TMac, Kirk, Pargo, Ivan. Need to upgrade the Collins slot though. Slower than Blair Rasmussen

Zaza had a much better game than the box score suggests. He did a nice job defending pick and rolls and caught most of the passes thrown to him in the paint. He may have had better numbers if he didn;t take the elbow smash in the first half. Bottom line, he has stepped up nicely and is growing into his new role.

Great win tonight, with JJ going 4-15 and Josh going 3-10!! Jeff with an awesome display of shooting. If he can keep knocking down his 3’s, we’re going to be a really tough team to stop. Everybody has to respect his ability to drive and his floater is deadly right now. The HAWKS almost shot has well from the 3 point line as they did from the free-throw line! (52% to 58%) That’s not good, Josh needs to get this corrected.
GO HAWKS!!

lol @ “his bricks equate to turnovers”. I guess every time a player misses a jumpshot it’s a turnover huh?
I see LBJ constantly jacking up jumpers (granted he’s LBJ) but still the principle applies. Take the magnifying glasses off for a second and look at Josh’ overall contributions when he’s on the floor. He posted a +19, he altered plenty of shots at the rim and blocked 4 of them.
Yall complain about the same thing every game but guess what…Josh will continue to shoot jumpers. He has a nice stroke…it’s not like he’s Joakim Noah out there. He’s the definition of streaky and when he’s on it’s deadly for defenses.

good to see effort keep up even well after the game was decided. guys seem to want to play it right. like seeing ivan get some burn. overall about an a- for this team thus far this season. looking forward to the next four at home. those games will tell us a little more about this team. still think .500 in february would be huge. march has 7 sets of back to backs of the total of 18 games. got to make hay while we can.

Per 36 minute numbers
Jamal: 6.5 FG on 18.1 shots ( 36% shooting ) . . add 2 extra points for the two 3 pointers he makes every 36 minutes . . and 4 points for the FTs = 19 points
If Willie Green took 18 shots every 36 minutes, these would be his numbers
8.1 made FGs for every 18 FG attempts . . plus add 2 points for the threes he would make during that span . . and 2 point for the FTs = 20 points
Willie > Jamal . . because Willie shoots and defends better.
Jamal only scores more than Willie, because he shoots more than Willie.
If Willie took

northcyde,
When you use ‘per 36 minute statistics’, you are trying to pro-rate or extrapolate a player’s production which can lead to a fallacy or falsehood. The ‘per 36 minute statistics’ do not take into account that a player’s efficiency and productivity may decline on the back end if he [or she] was to play a full 36 minutes in a game. Willie Green currently averages 15.7mpg [minutes per game]. If Willie Green were to play an additional 20.3mpg, who’s to say that his efficiency and productivity would not decline and vice-versa? If Willie Green is better than Jamal Crawford, why is Willie [Green] averaging 15.7mpg with the Hawks and Jamal [Crawford] used to average approximately 30+mpg with the Hawks?
