Atlanta Hawks at Hornets: Game thread
Jeff Teague will start at point guard for the Hawks tonight against the Hornets. Teague said he felt “fine” despite the sprained ankle that limited him during Friday’s win against Pistons.
“Jeff is a go,” coach Larry Drew said before the game. “He was moving around on it pretty good yesterday. He hasn’t mentioned that it is bothering him to the point that we have to limit him. We’ll keep an eye on him. Right now, he is a full go.”
Drew said he would split reserve minutes between Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo.
“He has been playing really well for us,” Drew said of Pargo. “That’s why we got him.”
Hinrich, who played 31 minutes against the Pistons after Teague left late in the third quarter, said he is working to regain form as quickly as possible.
“I want to get my game back,” Hinrich said. “I feel rusty and I just want to help any way I can right now and get my rhythm back.”
* Austin Barker, a 17-year-old high school student from Mississippi scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this week, was the guest of Hawks trainer Wally Blase Sunday.
Barker, who is at Tulane Children’s Hospital, attended the game with his father and two friends. He received a hat signed by the Hawks.
The non-profit organization Sunshine Kids brought Baker’s situation to Blase’s attention. Blase worked with the Hornets to organize the outing.

24 point lead to end the quarter, their biggest of the game. They went on a 14-2 run over the last 3 minutes. Great to see them step on an opponent’s throat and not let up, for a change.

I thought you were crazy when you said the Hawks would go 18-4 after the first one-third [1/3] of the season [22 games]. Three losses that come to mind that the Hawks should have won were @Philly, @Chicago [on NBA TV] and vs. Miami [on TNT]. Instead of being 14-6, the Hawks could be 17-3 right now and if the Hawks [team] win tonight, [the team would be] 18-3.

This is revenge for that those spankings the Hornets put on us last year. I was in the building in NO last year when CP3 relentlessly burnt Jamal Crawford….The only Hawk Fan jawing it with the Hornets Fans. Its a whole other ball game now partly because CP3 is long gone but JT0 is the new leader of the floor.

Blu Ray, on a serious note, did you hear about my classmate Master Corporal sandy Rogers? She was gunned down next to the house I grew up in yesterday morning, in Aiken, SC. That house in the crime scene photo is mine and is in a very nice neighborhood. The suspect was arrested @ 1130AM in Batesburg, SC. sandy was hit two times in the vest and ince in the head @ 730AM.
The per, Joshua Tremaine jones, 26 years old, also shot his 21 year old live in girlfriend, pregnant that same morning in the head while asleep. She filed an assault complaint on him last month. Just awful for us, Sandy was a very close friend. The whole town of Aiken is devastated all day today and yesterday.
Did you hear about this, google that later? This is the second officer killed this month in my home town of population 30K – just crazy and scary stuff. We dont feel safe without law enforcement there, everybody is scared now.
