I’m not in San Antonio and neither is Chris Vivlamore. Bob Rathbun is there and he says Kirk Hinrich will play.
Here is a place for you to discuss the game. I will post my two cents when it’s over.

“And the kind of boring team many Atlanta fans would never appreciate.”
Atlanta fans appreciate championships, and the Spurs have 4 to the Hawks’ 0.

9 assists from the starting unit (7 from one player) means that the guys who got the most minutes were either going iso and/or making shots that are not as easy as they needed to be against a good team. I wonder how many teams win road games with less than 10 assists from their starters and 10 combined boards from their starting PF and C?

Hawks aren’t a bad team. We just need a trade or two. There’s still time. If we keep beating the bad teams and buy Sund some time to make a move, we’ll be OK. The problem is that the February schedule is not in our favor.

I’m not sure how you say Teague disappeared in the 3rd quarter – He opened with a floater, missed a shot, went to the foul line and went 1-2, got 2 steals, and then came out for Kirk Hinrich with 3:39 left in the quarter. Now the rest of the team disappeared, but not Jeff.

ClassicHawks,
You mean we will win the ones that are .500 and below but most likely get blown out by the .500 over teams. Hawks better perform against the Pistons, they better blow them out.

OB, hawks been disappearing in 3rd and 4th quartes since the Woody days. That’s what they do. Teague was picking splinters outa’ his azz when this ISH started.
Remember Drew said he thought they had turned the corner on this habit last week? Team jump shot has that inbred from the core.

I don’t mind seeing Hinrich back…
I just don’t think Drew utilized him the proper way.
Pargo’s been playing well. I’d rather see Pargo chasing Parker around than Hinrich. Hinrich should’ve came in behind Joe.
Hinrich played pretty well offensively. Difficult task to ask of him to stay in front of Parker, especially coming off the long layoff.

I think it was a very poor decision to take away Pargo’s minutes tonight. I like Hinrich, but he’s not ready. And if Larry Drew even remotely considers trying to put Kirk back in the starting lineup at point guard, then he is really foolish. Teague is not only the better player, he’s also the better point guard. This team also needs some size and if it takes giving up one of the “core” to get it, then so be it.

Plain and simple, LD did everything not to play Teague last season. The he gives up 2 1st picks and Mo Evans for Kirk, he’s got to play him.

In other words, I don’t care for Willie Green all that much.
If it came down to minutes for Green vs. Pargo, I’d rather give em’ to Pargo. Green’s streaky, and he’s too trigger happy.

Partly yeah, seeing as how that team hit .250 and mostly won grind it out, low scoring games — not exactly the pinnacle of excitement for casual fans. But you can expand that to include legitimately contending for championships, which the Braves did throughout the 90s while drawing well.

Spurs bench have contributed 46 pts so far…..that’s a lil of an abnormality. Inserting Hinrich in the rotation with the bench has probably affected the chemistry because now guys have to figure out how to play with him and vice versa.
We need to wait til this team is 30 games into the season before we can seriously assess what this teams chances are in making the post season because the first 10 -20 games of the season is like an extended preseason regardless If the season is 66 or 82.
Mid – late February is when we’ll start to see who is fake and who is real.

New Orleans got themselves a steal in Gustavo Ayon. I would post potential trades for him, as he would be a quality big man to bring off the bench, but I doubt the Hornets let a solid young big man like him get away.

Last time the Hawks won in San Antonia, Nique was a Spur…1997!!!! So they have been having a off night for some time now in San Antonio & they all were non conference games…you would think they would want to end that streak at some point…of course there is always next year!!!

Some of you are so pathetically clueless. Blind optimism. We’ve gotten CRUSHED 3 out of the last 4 times we played good teams. What’s with the “it just wasnt our night; you cant win them all; lets just move on” attitude. We can hardly even compete with good teams. Dont you see a pattern here when we play playoff teams. If this isnt “our night” against a playoff team, then when the hell is it going to be???

10 rebounds from starting center and PF. 9 assists from all starters (7 from one player). 11 3-pointers allowed (at a super-efficient 48%). Yeah, that should result in a blowout loss. I would add only 10 FTAs, but the refs were awful.
