Pretty cool that Blazers owner Paul Allen sits in a seat right behind the goal.

For a team known for their offensive stars the Knicks offense is just AWFUL, I can barely watch this game…

Big Play RaY!
Do yawl remember Ray Buchannan of the Falcons? On Every touch down he got beat on, Big Play Ray would vehemently protest. He did back flips to sway the official referees. Yes, Mr. Buchannan was guilty of the “Thou dost’ protest too much” – syndrome.
Here’s my point: If, we can get Marvin hungry, and he becomes that nasty beast who gives you 15 & 8 every night? Marvin would be Udonis Haslem with a 3 point shot.
Too bad Marvin doesn’t protest a little more.

Cancer?
Based on my sources, looks like Andrew Bynum is allegedly immature and has entitlement issues. He parks in handi-capped spaces to Speed up his shopping time and shows late for meetings.
Look for the article to be released tomorrow in tHe LA Times. Somewhere in that live report, I heard the term “cancer” used in describing Mr. Bynum. Hmmm … Is there a story here?

I will be at the game 2morrow. Meet me at the Jack Daniels.
I’m ready to see how the team stacks up against some real talent. NJ is garbage this year.

Who’s afraid of the big bad Knicks… big bad Knicks… big bad Knicks…
So Chandler was their missing piece??
I see it as a reason for Amar’e and ‘Melo coasting on D even more and there is no rim protector in the world which can erase ALL the mistakes of bad perimeter D… not even the genetically built son of Manute Bol, Mark Eaton and Dwight Howard.

Let’s hope the vets on the bench remind the starters that NJ will come in pissed off about that rout at home. They aren’t good….but they do have pride. That and the comments from TMac will also give them a reason to want us. Tonight’s game could be a trap for us if we don’t put our boot on their neck from the get go.

I thought that was a great report MC. If the Teague,J.Smith, and bench can take scoring pressure off JJ & Al every night then Hawks can be very good.

Big time rumor in Orlando, on Dewight being trading to the Hawks with Horford being the center piece. The discussion came from a report from AJC in Atlanta had grab some attention in Orlando.

There’s no rumor in Orlando. There’s just a troll with a hundred names trying his best to stir the waters, LOL.
Funny that with a hundred names, he still has to highjack Ken’s and Big Dog’s. But he’d love for you all to play along.

right here bro, the great joba dn all the new contributors to the blog make it hard to keep up but i answered you the other day. was there to see your wiz the other night with my girls as well. two big bigs are nice with mckee filling out “bad”, walls looking good, young had a hot night, singleton has a motor and jc2 way over estimating himself but the hawks really took it to them. i like the way the defense is playing out of the chute and approach the hawks of early 2009 in the way they are defending. i love it when they play like that, taking space and all the air around the other guys so they cant breathe. that is the way to do it. it takes athleticism, quickness, conditioning and desire.
be well my friend.
love ya dmb.

S.L.B You are losing credability on this blog. Lopez is soft? Well i guess you’re entitled to your opinion but…. Check the mans stats the past couple of years 20pts/7reb/2/blocks per 35minutes is pretty good IMO. The last few years Lopez has destroyed our frontline -Zaza/Jumpshot/Smoove I saw those games when we had no answer for the guy. The guy is a top teir C in this league -the only C’s i put in front of him are DH12,Bynum, possibly NeNe/MGasol
Stop with the trades man -we are’nt going after Bogut/Leur…….
Also DH12 wants to go to a winner and we would have to give up to much for him. JJ Horford ZaZa 1st round pick may get The GM’s attention but I dont see him coming home.

DMB, that entertainment report on Bynum is gold. No way Orlando takes on that problem, and if Bynum is doing that stuff playing with Kobe, his pattern will continue elsewhere. And he is being paid already.
I wonder what the Lakers are thinking with him out and they are still winning.
Vava, JC1 with 22/5 on the unbeaten Blazers…..14 of those in the 4th.
NJ coming in tonight should be good for the Hawks tonight….duplicate the last effort and it will be an early night for the starters. The Nets have few options to get better anytime soon.

The Nets are coming into ATL on the 2nd night of a back to back. They used a lot energy trying to comeback against the Magic last night. Hopefully, the Hawks can put them away early and restup for the Rockets on tomorrow.

The Hawks will make it to the eastern conference finals. They can beat every team in the east except the Heat. The only reason they can’t beat the Heat is because the Heat are hungrier.

It isnt all true either, Hawks did gague about acquire D12 until the Magic stop all talks but those talk would probably be coming back up very soon, since they dont want to lose D12 for nothing, like what happen to Shaq.
Atlanta will be in those talks when it started back up and might have a slight lead. But if I was Otis Smith and the Magic front office, I find a way to ship him out as soon as possible, then you can get a better value in the trade market, plus this circus can stop and they can move on with their lives.

Geemack, you are right. Miami believes they’re better. If, however, someone can get inside MW’s head and get him fired up, he could put pressure on LeBron enough to make it interesting. 5 on 5, I like the Hawks’ chances against Miami, especially later in the year with Kirk back, assuming no one else gets hurt. Right now, Miami obviously has the edge. Marvin’s the key….scary, huh

Maybe instead of fixating on D12, the Hawks should look at acquiring Deron Williams. It looks like he is in “sleep-walk” mode these days. I know that he is from Dallas and Cuban has created space (and all but sacrificed tis season) to bring in someone like Deron, but if he would sign an extension, I’d snap him up in a heartbeat. I think he is more of a leader than Howard or some of the other guys that bloggers fantasize about acquiring. At some point, this team needs a definitive leader to take the next step (and no, I don’t think Stack is that guy).

Nets are a mess because their roster is awful (even with Brook Lopez). They will never get Dwight with that current trade package (or possibly, ever). Deron is leaving for Dallas after the season unless he is traded somewhere.

LOL. I posted that on the Orlando Sentinel blog with a link to MC’s piece earlier this week. I tried to start the rumor last year before the playoffs and got a few people really riled on the Magic blog. I forgot to check and see how people were reacting to the post from earlier this week.

I believe that the reason LD has even considered putting Josh at the 3 was because of what we haven’t been getting from Marvin. I always thought that it was up to Marvin to publish the ‘LeBron’ rules and be the key defender on him back in the Cleveland days.
Going forward, now in order to compete with Miami:
- Joe has to handle DWade ( tall order )
- Marvin still has to figure how to neutralize LeBron
- Al and Josh have to outplay Bosh/Haslem
- Teague has to hold his own against Chalmers.
Looking at that, I don’t think there is enough to beat them with any regularity.
Now Sund is going to have to go out and find us a Collins type player to help with the Heat. I remember how Damien did an adequate job last year on LeBron. Our bench doesn’t have that guy.

“-Teague has to hold his own against Chalmers.”
Teague has to do far more than “hold his own” against Chalmers. He has to destroy him on the court because we have unfavorable matchups at pretty much all positions

KevinM, my memory could be deceiving me, but I remember that Marvin did a very good job on LeBron in the preseason game last year. Maybe Lebron was dailing it in since it was preseason or maybe Marvin’s back was not hurting that early into the year, but I do have a recollection of being impressed that Marvin could be a defensive stopper against Lebron.

Astro, someone who goes into sleep-walking mode because his team is weak is NOT A GOOD LEADER.
People everywhere love to think about scenarios which would blow the roster to get just one player when there is not guarantee that this “magic player” will bring any wins.
How did it pan out for Deron in Utah, with a GREAT coach and a pretty decent supporting cast?
And what about Howard? Yes, they went to the finals, but last year, with a very decent supporting cast they fell against us.
Neither Deron, nor Paul, nor Howard guarantee a ring if you have to ditch too much talent.
Heck, just look at MIA, with 2 superstars, 1 star and garbage and the result was that they did not win last year.
So, breaking up the roster in a dramatic fashion to get Howard would guarantee us ZERO.
With this I am not saying that we should not consider all options, all the time, but we have to be realistic about the feasibility and the balance of all deals.
