Atlanta Hawks at Nets: Game thread
Finally, it’s time for real basketball. The Hawks are the last team in the Eastern Conference to play their first game.
Jeff Teague (ankle) is in the starting lineup with Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams, Josh Smith and Al Horford. Kirk Hinrich (shoulder) and Donald Sloan are inactive.
Brook Lopez (foot) and Jordan Williams (dehydration) are out for the Nets. New Jersey won 90-84 at Washington last night.
The Hawks (and me) got here late because of awful traffic and rain. (Note: never trust the Google maps LaGuardia to Newark route that takes you through the city. Wish I’d known this 2 1/2 hours ago).

My question was lost in the mass amount of comments so I’ll try this again because not knowing is seriously killing me.
Why and/or how was T-Mac called for a delay of game (I believe it was in the late 3rd or early 4th quarter) ?
I wasn’t paying attention and they didn’t show a replay. Someone please tell me!

I’m not going to pooh-pooh a near 40 point win, don’t care how many caveats we can add to it. Take it and move on, it counts for a W just like all the rest…right?
I don’t see how you can say “appreciate the hawks for being a perennial playoff team every year” and then not enjoy a blowout win of a bad team.
Again, I say what happens when we lose a game like this or lose a big lead.
Still, tougher games to come. Nice to see we might have a deep bench. Depends on who performs in the regular rotation, and how deep that rotation can be. Hawks looking far more versatile off the bench tonight than I’ve ever seen.
We shall see.

Katie, It was a bad call. T-mac scored and watched the ball roll away instead of grabbing it and handing it to the official. It’s not his job to do that after he scores though. Just a bad call.
