Greetings, all-
Hope you’re well. About to head to the court. The lineup: Kirk Hinrich, Marvin Williams, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Jason Collins. Interesting collection. We’ll see how it shakes out.
Gotta run. Will chime in.

Luke Harangody makes Smoove’s shot selection look great by comparison. He looks like he’s patterned his game after Scalabrine.

northcyde,
I love how Josh is rebounding, passing, and defending. 2 assists away from a triple double. The only negative is he is 0-8 on jumpers outside of 12 feet.
Good game by Marvin. I think he enjoys playing Cleveland because there is no LeBron anymore. I dont think its because he is at the 2.
Meanwhile, Jamal is 2-8 in 25 minutes.

marvin at the 2 is not that out of the ordinary he played there when joe first game n was starting at the point … then they used to have him guard the point at the top of the key alot

Cavs announcers can’t talk about nobody. If they play “hard”?
What has that gotten them? They sound like a left behind girlfriend.

Ray . . but this is the wrong game to be nit-picking about Josh’s rebounding. The dude has almost 1/2 of our rebounds. He’s DOMINATING the boards. Just because he didn’t execute one box out, doesn’t diminish what he’s done in this game.
I know he doesn’t box out all of the time, but he’s dominating the boards tonight. And the onus does go on Horford and Collins as well. And they don’t seal off their man on every play either.
Tonight is not the night to be talking about Smith’s rebounding, unless he doesn’t do it down the stretch.
Marvin looking great tonight.

Marvin hasn’t exactly been devoid of his usual clumsiness in this game, but he’s more than made up for it with aggression and physicality.
26 dimes on 32 made baskets for the Hawks in this game. Ball movement has been fantastic.

I like that guy Samardo Samuels. He’ll never be a star, but he can be a good physical presence off the bench for a good team.

It’s called a team game for something, MW and AH picking up JS with the jumpers, JS picking up them for assists and rebounds.
This is called complimenting each other, look it up sometimes.

Hinrich trapped on the sideline, which makes the sideline a 3rd defender and no team mate comes to get the ball? No help?

2nd,Marvins play should not be a suprise to none of us.Remember when joe was out a couple of years ago and Marvin was called upon to be a scorer and he was averaging dang near 30ppg?? Well joe is out again and he is called upon to score..
3rd,i do not get why Jamaal is eating up some of Damiens time either? And i bet “mr.heatcheck” doesn’t know either, lol

Marvin is doing some serious ballin’ in this game. I’ll take over for his “grandma” tonight and say that he deserves some credit for his performance tonight. His shots have come in the flow of the offense, he’s been aggressive going to the basket, and has done a nice job of mixing up his game by attacking both inside and outside. Really nice game for Marvin tonight. This doesn’t justify his sub-par performances throughout the season, but it’s definitely a great time to step up with Joe out of the lineup. Marvin, Al, and Josh have carried us on both ends of the floor tonight.

And I like the fact that they keep going to Marvin, even though that possession resulted in a turnover.
And DSGB . . like I said . . there’s no reason why Marvin can’t be efficient even with JJ playing. He gets less attention and more wide open shots with JJ on the floor.

Too bad more Hawks couldn’t convert. Smith looks like he’ll miss his triple-double.
But I’ll take 17 rebounds from him every night of the week.
