Hawks-Cavaliers game thread

Greetings, all-

Hope you’re well. About to head to the court. The lineup: Kirk Hinrich, Marvin Williams, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Jason Collins. Interesting collection. We’ll see how it shakes out.

Gotta run. Will chime in.

Sixers lost again today. Once the Hawks clinch the 5th seed, I hope LD will give the starters some rest (Josh and his knee, Al and his ankle, JJ and his thumb are the 3 that come to mind).

I wonder what the reasoning is to start the big lineup? Al Horford can handle the Cavs centers, and he is going to start Marvin Williams at SG? That makes no sense to me. And to play Josh at SF is only inviting him to start jacking up jumpers again.

I would have gone with Teague, Kirk, Marvin, Josh and Al.

Hollins is no threat offensively so I dont understand the big lineup.

Maybe Drew wants to get Jason some starts before the play offs?
IDK why Teague is not starting.
Marvin starting @ the SG? IDK about that either.

We shall see how quick a substitution is made.

The Hawks are 2-1 with Teague/Kirk starting. Their single largest margin of victory since the trade came with Teague in the lineup.

it’s a curious lineup to me also. i asked Drew if he’d considered starting either teague or crawford, but he said “I want to keep it as close to normal as possible,” it meaning the rotation. he also said “I know i started jeff right after the trade, but i did have joe in as well,” meaning, i guess, that he’d only feel comfortable starting teague alongside johnson.

I guess against The Cavs, you could theoretically start the entire bench.
So, does it really matter. May as well tinker – I guess.

Does his teammates even know he is playing the point after rebounding? Or, was it that ill-advised 3 he launched? IDK?

It is beginning to look like Teague’s few good games post-All Star break were a bit of fluke.

Last night he played average defense at best and his offense and decision making was suspect. Thus far, tonight it looks like more of the same from Teague.

The only 2 Hawks players with – ratings are teague and Jamal.

I dont know why, but Jamal and Teague are not a good match…

Re: Tonight’s lineup: This is not the first time LD has used this lineup. I kind of like it. It causes all kinds of match up problems. (Not saying I want to see this lineup used regularly, but it is an interesting lineup with some advantages.)
