So, how many wins are people predicting for this season. I’m guessing 42-44, and that’s being generous. It’s depressing, but it is what it is.

Oh yeah, I forgot.
Since the Bibby/Kirk trade: Hawks are 3-2 when Teague plays 20+ minutes, 3-8 when he doesn’t. 4-3 when Teague starts, 2-7 when he doesn’t. 2-1 with the Teague/Kirk starting back court, 4-10 without it.

The difference between being exposed in the regular season and postseason would be?
With Woody, we won 50+ games, we had high hopes, and we got whopped in the playoffs. Basically, we were led on. We were fooled. We got rocked and caught a reality check in the playoffs.
With Drew, we know who we are before playoff time even comes. Winning more games just covers up what this team really is. A mediocore team that nobody’s really banking on to do much in the playoffs.
Bottom line, neither one of these coaches would get us anywhere inn the playoffs. Win all the regular season games you want with Woody. What does it lead to? Back to back 2nd round exits, and not even close to winning a game in back to back seasons. With Drew, it’s basically just a “save the bullstuff” approach. We know what kind of team this is, no need to lead Hawks fans on all the way to the playoffs before we show our true colors.

Isn’t it refreshing to see a coach like Doug Collins coach his guys the right way? Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young coming off the bench attacking. Doug kept telling them even when they were down to keep attacking and playing defense. Even with not much of a big to protect their rim they kept hustling and alas the results are a win!!
Why not us? Where was the bench tonight? Hinrich played almost the whole game and looked hurt at one point before the half. Josh and Marvin played hard all for not.
You need guys to play to develop a rotation, maybe Teague or Wilkins.
Please fire this fool, he couldn’t coach in my kid’s basketball league!!

Sorry to say coach Drew is nit a good coach he reminds me of my grandfather deciding if he should go fishing or looking for a place to spit out his tobacco. Josh Smith just doesn’t understand that he isn’t a jump shooter he is still trying to show other players in the league that he is a superstar!! Marvin Williams is a bust everyone should know that just from the show “hawks Live” that comes on every few days and they always spotlight him, the guys not a bonafide NBA player. Just think they got beat by two home grown guys from Ga. They won’t get out of the first round, one because they are not a good team they play soft, they shoot to many jump shots and they never have any one around the basket to rebound, and the owners are almost in the poor house they don’t have enough money to get a high caliber center (this is what they need). Jeff Teague looks like a deer caught in headlights he needs to get a real job along with the rest of the team except Al horfords and Jamal, they are the only two good looking player on the court. And who told Zaza he was a basketball player this group is out of excuses no matter what happens down the road.

Lol only going 7 deep, with Zaza and Jamal off the bench, if I was on the bench I would’ve laughed my ass off at LD. You going to try and matchup with a deep Sixers squad with a 7 man rotation, oh buddy your gone after the season is over.

I’ll agree on the Hawks and Knicks, but no one really knows what the Heat can do in the post-season yet. At any rate, the Heat are still far better than the Hawks and Knicks, even if the Heat are way overrated.

Once again, we are left wanting more from our $124 mil man.
One of the things I didnt like about LD last night was once again, he basically put all the blame on the players, and say Xs and Os dont have anything to do with it.
Well, tonight, I think LD deserves alot of the blame. He determines the rotation (playing 7 men), he is the one who played Jamal at PG etc.

Smooves defense is what it is..
He is a great weak side/help defense shot blocker.
But only when he is playing other non athletic PF’s..His position is @the small forward and if he keeps going down low and driving to the hoop he’ll be living at the free throw line and will be getting 20pts/10+rebounds/maybe 5 assists(because of his ability to find the open man when he is down low) and hella blocks(if we get a real center that can back him up and vice versa)..
But he will only come to grips with those numbers and only,when a coach puts him at the small forward position and he comes to grips that he is not a Tracy McGrady or King James..
Would i keep Smoove next year?
If i can get a coach in here that he would respect,also get him to adjust his game like woody did last year and would not put up with his crap then yea,i would.(that is asking a lot)
If im looking for someone on the cheap like the ASG did for a coach then naw,i would trade him.
Lets not get it twisted..He is a talented player,but,he is immature with his game..

Can we forfit our playoff spot, and pick up a lottery pick in the draft. LD is done, Capt. Kirk didnt give it a full year b4 he turned in to Bibby, the big three suck as a unit, individually, and club leaders. I can’t wait for this team to be sold!!!

sometimes i wonder what our players would look like if they hadn’t developed such bad habits early in their careers. the talent or potential that was never maximized by structure or defined roles.

@ Sautee, my point is the Hawks should have known what they had in Jordan Crawford and not given him away for nothing. If you are going to make a trade you should do it for 2 reason, win now by filling your needs or build for the future. No way the hawks should have traded Jordan Crawford. Hinrich is not the player to put them over the top for a championship, but you will lose Jamal Crawford to free agency and Jordan Crawford would have been a very good replacement.

Jamal continues to get big minutes although he isn’t doing anything on both sides of the floor. Cant score and being abused defensively. Your leading scorer from last night didn’t even play. And why was Marvin on the bench? He finally has a good game going and is replaced by a ice cold Jamal. Just a terrible job of coaching once again by LD.

Correction:
It is his decisions that he makes on the court such as the ill advised jump shots,not attacking the basket,not hustling back on defense when he thinks he got foul on a shot,etc…
He is a pro and has been playing this game most of his life.He should know his own game now.He should know his weaknesses and what he can and can not do. He should be his own coach,but make the right decisions.

@ ryan the Hawks don’t need another guard they need a legit center. They actually need at least 2 more good big men for a little depth.
