Greetings, all
Hope you’re well. I commend your loyalty if you’re spending a Sunday afternoon with this team (which, if you’re reading this, I presume you are).
A few notes, and on to the game.
1) Your team’s lineup: Al Horford, Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Kirk Hinrich, Joe Johnson. Larry Drew said he went with the lineup to match up with Detroit’s size in the backcourt.
2) Drew: “We’ve got to bring a physical style to the way we play. We can’t be a soft team.” I’ll leave it to you to connect the dots. Jeff Schultz is here for a column, and I gather his column will do that for you.
3) I asked Drew Saturday about the possibility of starting blog fave Damien Wilkins. “At this point, I won’t rule out anything. I do love what he brings to the table. His competitiveness, particularly on the guy that he’s defending. He’s one of our best defenders. But he plays with a physical style and I like that and we need that early in the game.”
I’m going to guess that addressing the possibility of Wilkins starting with “I won’t rule out anything” isn’t exactly an endorsement of it becoming a reality.
4) Hopefully you read my story about the Hawks’ leaders not being the types to confront and police one another.
5) Enjoy the game.

I hate to be the one to be down on the Hawks, but the Kirk Hinrich trade was a mistake. it was NOT a mistake, however, to dump mike bibby. bibby has absolutely NOTHING LEFT IN THE TANK. Like Marvin Williams, Bibby was giving you absolutely nothing out on the court every night. To get Hinrich, though, we gave up much too much. We should have given up MARVIN WILLIAMS, and MIKE BIBBY to acquire Hinrich. That would have made more sense. We would still have the services of Jordan Crawford (FUTURE HALL OF FAMER) and Mo Evans (all-star reserve) by virtally unloading literally horse maneur (bibby and marvin) and getting back greatness (Hinrich). UNFORTUNATELY IT DIDNT WORK OUT THAT WAY.

I hear LD has settled on Heinrich, ISO Joe, that “smoove” thing, Al and Marvin as his starting lineup. Last evening we saw what that lineup was capable of against Chicago. It will be destroyed by Philly also. The jumpshooters will be at it again. If that “smoove” person hits a few baskets or have one of those infrequent nights where his jumper is falling(which is a fluke) it will inhibit other aspects of the game. All that kid thinks about is a highlight film. I was watching him late in the 3rd quarter when LD started subbing and it was there right on his face…Duuuhhh, what happened, I should have shot 20 more times, I only got 12 points(dummer then dirt look). If Teague does not start then LD is more dense then I thought. He’s a pitiful looking coach, not sure if he needs to think. Obviously he does not have a clue. The game should go like this, ISO Joe will POUND, Josh Smith will launch, Al will lose interest, Marvin will be lost and Heinrich will lose focus and the “SOFT’S” will lose another game, but, if we happen to win believe me, it was a total mistake on Phillies part.
