Greetings, all
Hope you’re well. I commend your loyalty if you’re spending a Sunday afternoon with this team (which, if you’re reading this, I presume you are).
A few notes, and on to the game.
1) Your team’s lineup: Al Horford, Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Kirk Hinrich, Joe Johnson. Larry Drew said he went with the lineup to match up with Detroit’s size in the backcourt.
2) Drew: “We’ve got to bring a physical style to the way we play. We can’t be a soft team.” I’ll leave it to you to connect the dots. Jeff Schultz is here for a column, and I gather his column will do that for you.
3) I asked Drew Saturday about the possibility of starting blog fave Damien Wilkins. “At this point, I won’t rule out anything. I do love what he brings to the table. His competitiveness, particularly on the guy that he’s defending. He’s one of our best defenders. But he plays with a physical style and I like that and we need that early in the game.”
I’m going to guess that addressing the possibility of Wilkins starting with “I won’t rule out anything” isn’t exactly an endorsement of it becoming a reality.
4) Hopefully you read my story about the Hawks’ leaders not being the types to confront and police one another.
5) Enjoy the game.

2 ill advised jumpers from Josh.. though the 2nd not as bad, even though he had a lane to drive.

Hawks were 2-1 with the Teague/Hinrich starting back court. They won against one quality opponent (Blazers), blew out one not so quality opponent (Bucks), and lost to one quality opponent (Nuggets). Teague didn’t play all that well against the Nuggets, and ever since then he’s out of the rotation.
This team really p-sses me off.

Rick Sund saved LD from himself when it came to Bibby and Mo Evans. He should have done the same when it came to Jamal.

“he did not have good games on offense, but played well on defense”
True. And maybe just as important, even when he didn’t have good games scoring, it’s not like he killed the overall ability of the offense to score. When Jamal plays the point, if he’s not hitting his jumpers, the ball never goes inside and never rotates so the entire offensive flow stops.

They won’t even be competitive with the Bulls if Jamal plays point guard. Just like the last game against the Bulls.

Smoove is the best back to the basket scorer this team has.

How many times do we need to bash Mr. Woodson, before he is really gone? Does his evil spirit linger in the rafters and scare people at games and in this case the recesses of Clyde and his little cohort, JeJe?
Does this guy have night sweats and little wet nightmares, from fear that The Boogie Man is lurking under the frame of his twin sized “race car” bed? Because, the rest of the “whole wide world” knows that
Mr. Woodson will NEVER be fired by The ASKG! That is mathematically – Impossible.
Is it because Mr. Woodson’s contract expired and was not extended, rendering him not FIRED and somehow his entrance to the next life is still pending and not complete? Perhaps Clyde and his little parrot should just go out back and end it now. How can they live a quality life from here on out?

Breaking News! Ta Dah!
Mr. Woodson is gone bye-bye. He is not walking through that door. You can say another little prayer, this time ask God to help you accept these simple truths, so that you can get on with your life and stop bothering the rest of the blog who have all moved on. It is not cute, insightful nor appreciated to have to keep scrolling past the tape recorders. Hopefully your rewind and re-play button will break or you will upgrade to a CD player. Unless you are Autistic? You can stop banging your little head against that brick wall.

Actually it was an eight man rotation, although Damien only got a little over four minutes. Not much of a positive vibe given the competition, but a win is better than a loss at this point.

im not sure what Jamal is giving you where you cant find 18 mins a game for Jeff.. i can see if he’s shooting the ball well, but he’s not right now. what LD says about Jeff does not equate to how he’s handling the young guard.

that 3 mins doesnt compute to much of an impact on the game. didnt count it. there are 2 impact guys on the bench in Jeff and Damien who coach refuses to use..
u asked him to pressure the ball full court.. pick up the tempo, he did those things.. how do you show approval for his efforts. DNP’s.
Damien goes all out, and doesnt hurt you @ all.. 3 mins.
