Greetings, all-
Ken here. Sorry for the late start. A few notes, nothing earth-shattering.
1) Same lineup.
2) Larry Drew’s keys: Defend the 3, transition defense, defend the pick and roll, make Denver work on defense, move the ball side to side, good shot selection. Something tells me you’ve read that before.
3) An obvious matchup to watch is Jeff Teague-Ty Lawson. You may remember that they were drafted No. 18-19 in the 2009 draft.
4) Joe Johnson is still wearing a headband. Not a superstitious type, apparently, or at least someone with an interest in being sanitary, he broke out a fresh Air Jordan headband for the Nuggets.

uhhh what happened to teague and hinrich???? did we not just trade 2 first round picks (jordan crawford), bibby and mo for hinrich?!?! He was nowhere to be seen!!! smh… what a terribly run team.
isn’t common sense to try something different if what we were doing wasn’t working??? omg…

DMB, the only roundball Arthur has interest in is soccer. He wants an open air stadium to fill year round.
The Hawks? Apparently, Blank isn’t seeing a huge profit model that is the NBA.

JC at point for the whole 4th quarter?? at what point did LD realize that JC was not doing well at point? JC is a shooter. he makes his own shots. he creates his own shots. he isn’t looking to pass, he is looking to shoot, thats why he is a SHOOTING GUARD not a POINT GUARD. teague and hinrich couldn’t have don much worse…

ATL is doomed to be incompetent in basketball until the day the ASG, Sund, and Drew leaves for better leaders. until that day we will be in basketball purgatory.

So is this yet another game where we can safely say “we would have won last year”, considering our past home record AND history of beating the Nuggets at home?

Granddad you make as much sense as your friend drmaryb.your probably young enough to be my son as I’m 71. When I use the word hate it don’t mean anything on this stupid blog but when I see decisions made that are so stupid & hurt the hawks I get disgusted. I am use to watching the old celts & Knicks the way the hawks play ball is not good but there are teams in the NBA which play the game right. When you see people on the professional level such as woody & ld coach worse than a person who didn’t know basketball that is really sad.

Who knows why we got hinrich. maybe to “shake up the core” as drew said. we have a very capable point in teague but, i guess he isn’t as good as we all think. obviously drew must see something e don’t.

Missed the game but seems as though more of the same backsliding by L.D.
Remember this summer when people were begging for Dwayne Casey, T. Thibodeau, Avery Johnson, or maybe even Lawrence Franks.
Team needs a coach, not a babysitter. Takes an extra year in Hawksville to realize what needs to be done.
Jamal Crawford should have been traded at the deadline. This is why Warriors gave him to Sund for practically nothing. Very talented, no defense and definitely not a team player.
And the frustration continues, until Friday night…..

You were in middle school last year.
You don’t speak as if your an older gentleman.
My coaching career is in the books.
What is your resume, besides watching a few
Celt v Knick games on espn classic?
You and I have never had a problem,
and you should not start with me now.
I’m much better watching out for you,

IDK you were 71, really? You are so enthusiastic and energetic in your comments, I thought you were 17 (no sarcasm). In that case, I sincerely apologize for any disrespect or foolishness on my part.
I really didn’t know. So, please accept my heart felt apology.
Too bad you can’t transfer some of that energy you have to my Hawks.
They have been playing very lethargic, yet they all want max-pay for less effort. Jamal has been sulking about his contract all Summer and season long, yet don’t show up to play the right way.
We just want the Hawks to win, so we can transfer some of that success to our own lives. We come here to get away from the real problems in life and root for something good! Tonight was not good.
I hope you accept my apologies. I was taught to respect my elders and to listen to them, even if I don’t agree, to be humble. I, Sir, was reared right and with excellence.

Well that’s the first time that Ty has not been in double figures in scoring since the last time Denver played ATL. Teague does a nice job on Ty, but Ty still had a good game with 10 assists and 3 steals.
And another 0 Turnover night for Teague. Yes, I know he was 1-7, but defense and running with no mistakes are what he brings to the table on a consistent basis right now.
And I say put Wilkens in the rotation more.
And if we go 7-7 the rest of the way, .500 ball, we finish with a worse record than the last 2 years, 53-29 and 47-35 vs. 46-36. 5th seed this year (maybe) vs. 3rd and 4th seed the last two seasons.
And we still gotta play Miami, Orlando, Boston, SA, Chicago, Philly @, @ Houston. Hope we go at least 7 – 7

Woody wasn’t the best, but he wasn’t terrible. Some of you throw the word terrible around to loosely. You don’t lead a team to 50 wins being a terrible coach. I wanted the man gone to but not because I thought he was terrible, I just thought he had taken the team as far as he could. Woody was a much better coach than LD. Its not even close. If that clown GM hadn’t taken Marvin Williams over the pg’s that were available, Woody would still be coaching the Hawks. By the way, I saw Woody at the SEC championship game a couple days ago. That might be the first time he’s been in public since his firing.

I agree 100% with section 303. Josh Smith repeatedly makes ignorant decisions that totally demoralize this team in crucial situations.
His verbal comments such as “I’m always going to have my say with the ref’s” and something to the effect of “the key to making jumpers is just to not think about it and just shoot it”, is proof that he isn’t even attempting to change in a productive way. Only becoming destructive.
He’s been in the league about 8 years now and still seems to believe that he can develop into a first ballot Hall of Famer by rounding out his game.
His greatest natural gift, which is blocks and help defense, has been totally abandoned in his deluded pursuit to turn into Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Who, by the way, were already shoe-in first ballot Hall of Famer after 2-3 seasons.
He has the talent to become a phenomenal role player. Off the charts. Like Rodman, etc. But his misguided ambition will not allow for it,
Can’t everyone just see the air go out of the team when he jacks stupid jumpers on crucial possessions or tries to play PG and makes a careless turnover? Can’t we feel it all through Phillips? And don’t all of us cringe when we see it on TV?
Isn’t it time we stop clinging to him because of such stupidity as highlight dunks? And finally just let go?

Syracuse Nationals lost to the Lakers in 1952.
—2nd—Quiz—answers—
* Harry Truman

* King George & Queen Elizabeth
[King George died & Queen Eliz took throne & has reigned since]
* Kansas [def St Johns]
* Winston Churchill
* Polio
* Sam Snead
* I Love Lucy, Ed Sullivan, Howdy Doody, Amos & Andy, & Dragnet

I know the Knicks had walt Frazier, Dave debussiere,Earl Monroe,Willis Reed, &Bill Bradley in their championship years. I went to the old garden to watch Harry the horse galletin & Carl Bruin. I watch the great Celtic teams in person bob cousey,the jones boys,bill sharman & the great bill Russell.I also watched greats like wilt,Elgin ,I also loved watching those hippies like Phil Jackson & bill Walton. I am sure I know a hell lot about NBA basketball than you. I know that the Brooklyn dodgers won the pennant in 1947,1952,1953′,won there first ws in 1955 with johnie podres.Gil hodges was my hero wore the number 14 & in 1955 the Mick,duke & Willie was the toast of ny. I know they played in the ws in 1916′ & 1920. I know that babe Ruth set a record of scoreless ws innings,for the red sox & in the 1920 ws was thebfirst grand slam home run & first triple play in a ws,I know that the lakers originate in minn & had players like George Milan ,pollard,mickleson & slater Martin. Do you know who Bobby wanzer,Clyde lovelette,dolph from syracuse. I certainly know I know a hell of a lot more than you what was happening in the 50& 60’s.

We are all hurting watching this mess of a team. Jordon Crawford trade was a terrible one but we did get Hilton Armstrong who will be a good player for us as soon as a coach with “COMMON SENSE” gets hired and Heinrich is a class player, always was and always will be. There are teams out there that will give up a draft choice and a good player for the dummie(smoove). ISO Joe needs a good coach, so does Marvin. Al is becoming one of them also, as they say “Association brings about Assimilation”. Quick fix, just fire LD as quickly as possible and ask Dominique to substitute until the season is over. He loves the Hawks and this mess is truly bothering him, I bet the “smoove” would either do what Nigue says or his ass would live at the end of the bench pouting like the cry baby he truly is. He’s not all that folks, it’s time to say by and good riddance. It’s a shame but this team who likes each other so much are cursing each other when they are home with loved ones. It’s no way any of them can appreciate the “smooves” stupidity and ISO’s POUNDING the ball.

Joe Never show up against .500 teams!!!! U scoring 30 against Miluakee dowsnt excite me. U can go off against the Bucks but dissappear when we need u to step up…Nuggets, lakers…..12 to 13 points a nite against these teams is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. His stat line needs to be awesome in steals, rebounds assists if he cant scare!! MY GOSH Lets stop harping on Teagues DEVELOPMENT And call out the real problems!!!!!!!!!
JOE, JC, MARVIN,.none of these guys are leaders. They are a major part in a young point guards development on the court. I never see them giving him advice or talking to him when he messes up. MARVIN…2nd round pick should have been waived years ago or sent down to the D-league. We could be paying someone 1% of his salary that will give those numbers.
JOE 120 MILLION JOHNSON didnt even dap up his teammates after the Bucks game. Just walked right off the floor. this is not the type of team I want to pay money to see! For some reason everyone thinks Josh is a small forward!!!!! NOT TRUE!!!! HE CANT DRIBBLE ONE ON ONE,, HE IS A STREAKY SHOOTER, CANT GUARD OTHER SMALL FOWARD AWAY FROM THE BASKET, MADE POOR DECISIONS CONSTANTLY IN THE OPEN COURT. I mean, is my assessment off here?????? This is mind blowing. Getting a center means that Josh is out of the picture because I cant take him another minute beyond the 3 pt line.
i aint even gonna start on ZAZA..always losing the ball or getting it blocked.
LEADERSHIP LEADERSHIP LEADERSHIP………..Get rid of everybody but Horford and Teague
