Hawks’ Johnson back from elbow surgery

Hawks guard Joe Johnson will return to the lineup two weeks ahead of schedule after having right elbow surgery. Th efour-time All-Star will start Friday night against Charlotte at Philips Arena.

“The therapy just went great, the swelling’s gone down,” Johnson said. “We’ve just been shooting (with) no pain. It’s just feeling great, so I just didn’t feel like it was necessary to wait another two weeks and leave the guys hanging out there like that when I can really get out there and give ‘em everything I got.”

Johnson had surgery to remove a loose body from his elbow at the beginning of December. He had been expected to be out four to six weeks. His return was so unexpected that coach Larry Drew thought trainer Wally Blase was kidding when he told Drew that Johnson could go Friday.

The Hawks went 5-4 in his absence but have lost three of the last four.

The return comes at a fortuitous time. Guard Jamal Crawford will miss his second consecutive game with a back injury.

Pretty Boy!

Josh wanna’ be a jump shooter now, his wife making his game soft, or he’s getting way too much slam dunkin’ at home?

Drew asked, “What do they do the night before games?” Better put a camera in Josh’s closet. LOL!

We definitely Josh to be that ole’ “rim rattler again!”

Dell Curry “Dude Your’e getting a Dell” Curry visiting Bob Rathbun while Nique over there with Bobcats Announcer.

I guess Nique sharing his NIMBERS and Heat-Checks with the Bobcats!

I was hoping Bob would ask Dell about his son Stephen Curry, would love to hear a Proud Father’s comments there.

It was great to see L.D. finally show some trust and confidence in Al to play through some minor foul trouble. His decision to trust him really paid off. I don’t think that some people realize how important Horford’s presence on the court is. In the words of Charles Barkley, I feel that Al is “the engine that stirs the drink”.

Game has been ugly so far… I’m seriously wondering whats up with LD’s insisting on playing Mo although Mo has been terrible. Is JC2 in a suit smh…. I was just saying how I wish Josh would go back to dunking like he once did and stop all this finesse lay up bull. Dude wanted to be known as more than a dunker and has dang near stopped throwing down those monster dunks. Well at least its Blake Griffin to watch . Dude has about 4 highlight dunks tonight in the first half.

By the way, with all the criticism of Joe Johnson and his contract, he is a true professional. He played with his elbow injury without complaining for a while until he couldn’t take it, and he got back out onto that court as soon as possible to help his team out. Great to have him back.
