Who's missing from this picture? (slamdunkcentral.com)
ESPN.com reported there was a free-agent summit in Miami over the weekend involving LeBron, D-Wade and Bosh.
Other reports say the meeting didn’t happen and others that say it couldn’t have happened because James was in New York and Wade was in Las Vegas and Chicago over the weekend.
Now I’m watching ESPN respond to those reports by saying that the three players did too meet in Miami!
All of this comes after Stephen A. Smith reported that James and Bosh would join Wade in Miami.
It’s all very confusing. But if there was a meeting in some city somewhere, and if James and Bosh really are considering headed to Miami to play with D-Wade (it seems to be a real possibility), the one thing missing from all of this is Joe Johnson.
Remember, Wade had said J.J. would be included in the summit and now it turns out he wasn’t invited (if in fact there was a meeting). What that would mean for J.J. is that he’s not included in this free agent master plan orchestrated by LeBron and Wade.
What it means for the Hawks is if those three guys really do end up on the same team, that would leave more teams with top-tier cap space than there are top-tier free agents. If the Hawks really are hoping to avoid offering J.J. the Bird max salary of about $119 million, and there has been some resistance to doing so, then this is not the scenario they’d want to see (and that’s not even considering what it would mean for the balance of power in the Eastern Conference).
Of course, all of this is assuming there really was a meeting, and the Big Three free agents really would play for the same team. It’s not even Thursday yet and it’s hard to know what’s true.

JJ did not deserve to be invited to the summit. He is in a talent class coniserably lower the the three players in attendance. Hope he leaves Atlanta

Truth-serum,
You may answer this or not, but it WILL be here on the blog for all to see.
You said this:
“I will talk with who i feel has we grounded positions. Why dont your argue your points of view rather than attacking personalities. Attack arguments.
I have NOT attacked you or your “personalities” other than to comment that when you curse, or say demeaning things about others, it diminishes you in ways you fail to understand. That is NOT an attack, but sage advice from someone who learned the hard way. And it’s intended for ANY blogger who chooses to act that way.
You wanted me to attack arguments, and that’s JUST what I did and have done. I attacked your argument about the bogus Shaq story. And you ran away like a coward.
I attacked your misuse of stats on Bradley’s blog.
And you ran away like a coward.
I attacked your premise of Darryl Dawkins as a type of “ideal” center (because of his 6.1 rebounds per game).
You ran away like a coward.
I attacked your argument that the coaches “conspired” to put Horford on the All-Star team, so we wouldn’t go after a center.
Did you stick around to discuss it?
No you ran away like a coward.
I could go on for days, but it’s useless. But I find a great deal of irony in you, of all posters here, talking about “arguing points of view instead of attacking personalities” when “attacking personalities” is all you seem to do.
Or did I miss the part where you actually DISCUSSED any of the things above?
No, I didn’t miss it. You ran away like a coward. And of course, if you answer it’ll just be “Saltee, you don’t have a grounded position”, or some such BS.
It’s very obvious that you enjoy stirring up the blog. I’m ok with that. I just wish you’d practice what you now preach, that is:
“Argue a point of view instead of attacking personalities”
I’ll be watching, T-s to see if you can man up and stick by your own advice.
Otherwise I’ll keep sticking it down your throat.
Have a nice day!

“and go ask Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing etc if they would trade $15 – $20 mil for a ring.”
I wouldnt. a bird in the hand bets 2 in the bush. The thought is that the ring puts you in the Hall plus increases your tour/signing/after retirement market value.
If youve ever compete on a high level before O’Brien you may agree that there are some visions and experience that play themselves out over and over again in your soul . Some are great where you excelled and others you keep wishing you had done something different. The visions never go away but are forever etched in your heart. You may know what Im talking about…
A lot of fighters fight on after the millions and millions because of what its like to know a championship, or be a champion in your soul. In a word priceless.
Sugar Shane Mosley has enough money, Floyd Mayweather has enough, so did Ali, Foreman, Sugar Ray and more. some guys do it for the experience and pride.

You guys must be crazy. Joe absolutely doesn’t belong in the LJ, DW, CB class. Bosh might be a little overrated but Joe is not in his class. Bosh has played his entire career in Toronto without serious help of any kind. Their GM did an awful job of surrounding him with complementary players. There’s a reason teams are crazy about him this summer. They saw what he did by himself in Toronto and what he can be with talent around him, like what he did on Team USA. There’s a reason the Lakers, Phil Jackson, Riley, and so on badly want him. Joe is nothing more than a complementary star who is going to fall off big. We give him a max deal and you can say goodbye to a conference final while he’s around.

God didn’t always deliver pies and cakes.
He also expressed disgust and wrath for the people of Sodom & Gomora -sp., As well as,
the fools in the days of Noah. God has little to no tolerance for ignorance, but he is patient with us, because he knows how small our brains are!
So, no believe God is asleep just because he is Love. He also, Hates – what is bad!
And what you said to Grand-Daddy, “Go FCK yourself?” Is not only disrespectful,
It is demoralizing, asinine, unnecessary, hostile, vile, disgusting, wrong and will
NOT be tolerated.
So yes, you can mount the back of an ASS (donkey), and go straight to HELL (a common grave for mankind).
Oh yeah! Its in the Bible, when children disrespected their parents? They were taken outside the
City and stoned to death. You kids are really LUCKY you weren’t born back then!
Now, leave us all alone and go find someone who actually LOVES you and see if you
Can’t rustle yourself up a HUG!
Regardless of what alias you use, a fool is as a fool does. There is no hiding place small enough for you to hide!
That’s is actually what THE TRUH means. It means you can’t HIDE in darkness!
The light will always reveal THE TRUTH. OK Serum, you can stand up straight now &

You write well and have a very good mix. I always read you. You do (for the most parts ) address issues and make keen observations. I do recall seeing you attack personalities and much as premises. I never see you misconstrue or distort what people say to serve your own purposes.
Now, lets be men and get back on subject about where in the hell this next season is going to take us.

I dont know how much will be spent. I would imagine that if thats all the signing we are going to do we wont be any better next season than this. If fact some teams may over take us. My hope would be that we find a way to put a top 7 center in the middle who can play DEFENSE and get us a starting guard who can distribute and shoot with out a lot of turnovers, capable of running an offense.
I suspect that there may be some trades with Marvin teague horford and josh being dangled to get the missing pieces. It would be nice if they all could stay, but I just dont think we saved that much money with the Woodson part II the sequel called Drew.
I guess well just have to watch how it pans out.

SAUTEE/DRMARYB-Allow me to join in on some of the fun. TRUTH SERUM claimed averaging 9.9RPG was an average accomplishment, while averaging 1.12BPG and 14.2PPG is unacceptable for a center. He also said Horford plays no DEF, and can’t compete against the so called true or legitimate centers in the league.
Well, I definitely consider Orlando’s DHoward a true or legitimate center, as well as the NBA’s most dominant center. Yet, in the 1st rd playoff series against Charlotte, starting center TRatliff(3.6PPG, 3.2RPG & 1.2BPG)and backup centers TChandler(6.5PPG, 6.3RPG & 1.1BPG) and NMohammed(7.9PPG, 5.0RPG & .7BPG) held DHoward to 8.5PPG and 10.2RPG, which was 10PPG and 3RPG under his seasonal average.
TRUTH SERUM-Based on these results, would you honestly be stupid enough to say all of these centers were capable of holding their own against DHoward? And would you suggest we sign one of them to replace AHorford as the starting center of the Atlanta Hawks? IF YOUR ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS IS YES, THEN ONCE AGAIN YOU DEMONSTRATE YOUR EXTREMELY HIGH LEVEL OF BASKETBALL INCOMPETENCE AND TOTAL LACK OF CREDITABILITY.

It’s funny how WOODY LOVERS insist on saying LDrew is nothing more than another version of MWoodson, and that we made a mistake in hiring him instead of rehiring Woodson. Well, if LDrew is truly just another version of MWoodson, then hiring him instead of rehiring Woodson allowed the ASG to hold onto what Woodson brought to the table, while saving the team a million or so dollars in the process.
It looks too me like the ASG made a brilliant move, and I don’t know what you WOODY LOVERS have to complain about. It would seem you’d be pleased to have another version of the HC you’ve grown to love, albeit an unnatural man crush kind of love for some of you.

Truth-Serum, what are we……in class?? Post a link? Nah, I’ll pass. I don’t have to make this up and I seriously doubt that there would be any links to support this because it was severely downplayed in the media except for a couple of outlets here and there. In fact, Amare was consistently on Joe’s a$$ about Joe’s lack of defense and Joe got fed up with it. I said that their relationship was ONE of the reasons Joe wanted to leave Phoenix. Being the fourth option and wanting to come here and become a star was the other, more important reason.

N.Dpoop, wasnt saying that YI would change the fortune of this team… But however at a poultry 4 mill a year a 7footta with an actual skill set would not hurt this team considering the situation… Or maybe you were more than impressed with the great exploits of Jason Collins and Randolph Morris…. LMAO that Mario West was very impressive coming off the bench!!!

Nobody is saying that AL isnt a serviceable center, but the point that most people try to make is that he would be a better asset to the team in his more natural power forward position

All other teams can only offer him around five years and $92 million.
