Hey, folks-
Kudos to those of you smart enough to figure out that I meant to ask for the Hawks of the decade about to end, not the one that ended 10 years ago. But, thanks to those who answered it. Maybe we’ll try Hawks of the 2000’s next week for real.
I’m trying to eat, do my game notes and study up on the game right now, so this will be brief. For what it’s worth, the Wolves aren’t as abysmal as they were at the start of the season. They started 1-15, but are 4-8 in their last 12 and 2-2 in their last four. Don’t know what you know about them, but coach Kurt Rambis is installing the triangle offense made famous by Phil Jackson in Chicago and Los Angeles. It obviously doesn’t work quite as well when Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan aren’t part of the triangle.
Obviously, players to watch are Al Jefferson, Kevin Love and Jonny Flynn, a rookie point guard whom Mike Woodson gave some props to.
Enjoy the game.
I’ll blog tomorrow from the plane to Denver, assuming the weather lets me get on it.

Seeing Jamaal hit these shots makes me even more pissed at Woody for inexplicably not playing him down the stretch and for most of the OT against the bulls the other night.

Hawks getting the wrong end of the calls here. Wolves just running into people and getting calls while Hawks can’t buy any. We need the FBI to investigate the NBA!
Only Jamal is keeping us in this game right now.

That’s a head-scratcher STILL. But really, I think it wasn’t Woody’s fault. Al Horford is not a real center, therefore we can attribute all losses to him.

Ray, I understand that Al is all we got. I appreciate the effort. Im just hoping that we can get Sund to make a move. I think we can when it all if we get a center. Im not blaming Al just making the point that is where we are weak.
Thank goodness for our guards!

Honestly the Hawks would be blowing the TWolves out by about 40 right now if it wasn’t for all the foul calls. Love can set all the records he wants as long as the Hawks come out with the win.

Joe Mama,
Two things real quick:
1) Kevin Love had 19 rebounds against the Lakers earlier this year. So unless he hits 20 tonight, he has TIED the record, not set it tonight. By the way, you might want to send Kobe and his crew (Artest, Bynum, Gasol, etc) a nasty-gram telling them how bad they suck for letting a scrub get 19 rebounds on them, even though they won the game.
2) Do you think we’ll meet Kevin Love in the playoffs?

Okay team. I have the answer now. Based on the fact that Al Jefferson had 17 and 10, and Kevin Love had 15 and 19 against the Hawks, we can geometrically predict the results of the playoffs for the Hawks.
Okay, here goes. If the Hawks get into the second round of the playoffs against Cleveland or Orlando, Al Horford has to average 35 points and 22 rebounds a game to win the series. It won’t matter if Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby, and Jamal Crawford all shoot less than 30% for the series. It won’t matter if Josh Smith gets thrown out of each game. It won’t matter if Woody calls 296 ISO plays in a row and refuses to play any more than a 6 man rotation. That just means that Al Horford has to average 5 more points and 7 more rebounds per game.
Now..if Al gets a regular dose of accelerated growth hormone twice a day for the next two months…he might grow another 2 inches. At this point, we can dispense with all of the prior mathetmatical, hypothetical and hypocritical analysis. They will suddenly become irrelevant on the strength of 2 inches. Isn’t math great?
Anyway, that’s the deal. If we lose in the playoffs, Al is the fall guy. Send Woody that memo, along with a promise of a 5 year extension and a box of marshamallow Santas, and a fresh fruitcake. He’ll be glad to see it.
Get it? Got it? Good!

Joe Mama,
You said awhile back that if Horford got to 15 and 10 that he’d be ok with you.
His last 5 games: 14.8 pts, 10.2 rebounds.
And yet you keep amping up your dissatisfaction with Al. Even when he’s playing at a rate YOU said you’d be ok with. Did you change your mind?
And were you just giving lip service to “enjoying the season”??????

lol ray. Is Teague back in the dog house? How did RandyMo play more although he was terrible all night. We got a big game against Denver hopefully they wont have tired legs.
And seriously just how many names does this one guy have on here? Ive seen about 4. Regardless of the name they type the same crap over and over. Its amazing how good this team is without this legit center they keep saying we need. People this is not NBA 2K or NBA Live. You cant just create dominating centers.

JSmoove has to stay out of foul trouble. The refs have paid a lot of attention to him since he was thrown out! Wonder what he said! What I wish he said was “Good call”! But not Josh! He’s the bad cop! Horford’s the good one(lol)! Don’t be mean Big Ray! Don’t be mean!
