Sund didnt give him an extension for a reason…I don’t understand why ppl think that just because a team is winning, its cause their well-coached. This is what you get when we abandon WOODY BALL and play the uptempo, fastbreaking style of ball this team has been built to play. If the team is allowed to continue playing like this, we could definitely go 9-1 or 10-0 over the next 10 gms.

I could be wrong, but I think Sund wants to see how Woody does in the playoffs before he gives him an extension.
Especially since the Hawks have a deep team, there is no reason for them not to win 2-4 games in the second round of the playoffs…

I agree with the commentators that consistency is the only thing holding the Hawks back. They said the Hawks have a bunch of games against teams under .500 (I think 9 out of 14). Unfortunately for the Hawks, those are the teams who the Hawks struggle with.

I agree with the crew on ESPN. We cant be elite until we become consistent.
It feels really good to blow out a team like this and make you feel like you are “somebody”……only to come back the next game and let some other team have lay up drills while we take jumpers the entire game.
I dont understand why we do that but I hope it stops!!

I’m not saying the Hawks need to advance past the second round. I’m just saying they cant afford to be swept like they were last year, especially given their depth.
And to say the Hawks cannot compete with the big 3, didnt the Hawks win 3 games against the Celtics in the first round 2 seasons ago? And the Hawks have improved more than the Celtics since then (in my opinion).
If the Hawks win 2 or 3 games in the second round, I definitely think that will get Woody his 3 year extension.

Funny thing, Boston Celtics Blog page runs a story about the players and how much they like Woody and how successful the hawks are. I asked the question why is Boston so concerned?
If I were Woodson, Id walk after the year regardless. I would consider this insulting. Most of the pro analyst are asking the same question.
What is he waiting on?
Truly Id walk just on principle.

Too early to say how deep into the playoffs the Hawks will get. We’ve got talent. We’re 8-2 against teams with a winning record this season.
The 2 losses the Hawks have suffered against teams with winning records were at LA and at home to the Magic. Both of those teams have a clear size advantage over the Hawks.
Cleveland has Shaq, but he’s not the same dominant post threat that he once was. We’ll see how we matchup with them, but I honestly think we’re a much quicker team with better gaurds than the Cavs.
It’s all about the matchups, and the Hawks give many teams matchup problems. The only team in the EAST that I think the Hawks struggle to matchup with is the Magic.
