Hawks-Hornets

Greetings, all

I’m at the homestead for this one and will be watching on the television as you all will.

Some thoughts and on we go.

Why the Hawks win tonight

1) Marvin Williams has gotten himself in a groove and has an exploitable matchup against Peja Stojakovic.

2) The Hawks asserted themselves as the better team a week ago. Their fourth-quarter run from the last game may linger somewhere in the Hornets’ collective memory.

3) Joe Johnson and Josh Smith played below their capabilities Friday. Bibby’s numbers weren’t outstanding, either. It’s unlikely it happens two nights in a row.

Why they won’t

1) They’re just due. It’s the second game of a back-to-back with a flight in-between. The Hawks haven’t had back-to-backs in the streak except for the start. Further, the Hornets have been home all week and come into the game on a day of rest.

2) Houston took a lot out of the Hawks Friday night. The Rockets are a relentless bunch, as the final three minutes of the game revealed.

3) The Hornets have found something since losing to Portland and the Hawks to open the Jeff Bower era. They’ve beaten the Clippers and Suns since then. They took down 25 offensive rebounds against Phoenix.

Whatcha think?

I don’t see the hawks coming back to win this. It’s just not their night. They don’t have the energy after last night. At least they get to rest up for the Magic. Thats an important game.

Can we please attack the freakin’ rim!!!!!!!

Nothing but jumpers all night long. It’s so damn pathetic. JJ’s struggling. Crawford was feeling it. But nobody outside of him has done a thing. Horford + Smith just plain didn’t show up tonite. And that’s pretty sad because Smith’s minutes were limitted last night, so you’d think he’d be the one leading the charge.

We were down 7 at halftime.
Down 11 through 3.

Unbelievable.

I agree with you, Bone. They used up a lot of bullets last night. If they lose, I’d hope fans would be O.K. with it. Everyone stubs their toe.

TEAGUE WAKE UP. U ARENT PLAYING AGAINST JENNINGS OR DERRICK ROSE.

GROW A PAIR.

WE SHOULD FORFEIT THE SEASON AFTER THIS EFFORT TONIGHT. MO EVANS IS TRYING TO SCREW OVER WOODY FOR NOT PLAYING HIM. CRAWFORD WILL ONLY TAKE 15 FOOTERS

Hawks didn’t have a team in the summer league. I read every single tweet from Sekou and everyone else. Just never saw that NBA ready one. We shall see I suppose, my guess would be that he is not though. Hopefully he will be soon.

You dudes given in to early SMH!!! Hope I never get involved in a fight and have to depend on one of you guys! With that being said, New Orleans is due to crumble and that’s when the Hawks have to be in attack mode. Watch.

Teague is looking like Law as far as playing not to mess up. Preston made that great point earlier. You can see that the kid is scared to make a mistake in fear of being pulled. He even mentioned in an article earlier this week I think. He was saying how quick you can get pulled and etc. He has to shake it off and just play his game and not be rattled.

If Craw has a tiny player on him, shouldn’t he have the ball for most of every possession?

i’m not saying it’s going to happen, but i’d say they’ve got it in them to turn it on for the final 6:30 and steal another one. it’d probably have to be defensive stops leading to transition baskets.

Think it’s a wrap people. The Hawks just don’t seem to have the energy to get over the hump. They continue to cut it down to 6, but can’t get it any closer than that.
