I know you didn't see enough of rookie point guard Jeff Teague against Portland. Who wants to be their lunch money that he plays big minutes against Sacramento tonight?
SACRAMENTO – Before you finish your sentence complaining about Jeff Teague not playing against Portland and Joe Johnson playing too much, chew on one thing.
What if you are not alone? What if you’re not the only fan base whose general manager, coach, star player, sixth-man and last man on the roster drive you crazy?
What, you thought you cornered the market on being ticked off?
You are not.
Our good friend Nire passed along this message earlier today (or last night or whenever, being out west throws off my equilibrium, even after all these years of covering the league):
It’s always funny to me reading Blazers fan blogs and seeing how not alone Hawks fans are in our neuroses. Blazers fans have their own Mike Bibby (Andre Miller), JJ (Brandon Roy), Josh Smith (Travis Outlaw), Marvin Williams (Martell Webster), Teague (Jerryd Bayless), Al Horford (Greg Oden), and Zaza Pachulia (Joel Przybilla). They even talk about Nate McMillan almost exactly like we talk about Mike Woodson. Seriously, it’s uncanny. I just emailed Big Ray a series of blog posts from BlazersEdge where you could just substitute in the Hawks’ player’s names and it would be a typical comment section in your blog. My favorites:
“Brandon has dribblexia”
“Oden needs to be further integrated into the offense—immediately!”
“This team has needed a defensive-minded off guard — not a floor general (i.e., Miller), midget shooting guard (i.e, Bayless), or athletically challenged off guard (i.e., Steve Blake) — so Kevin Pritchard not trading for Kirk Hinrich midway through last season is inexcusable in my opinion.”
But why be like everybody else when you can move on? This is the time for a fresh start for your team and for you as fans. The Sacramento Kings await tonight at Arco Arena. They’re a new challenge, something else to focus on.
Win another game out here and then you can really start getting crazy about what could be in this first month of the season. Either way, I’m moving on tonight. No more griping about Mo Evans seeing limited minutes against the Trail Blazers after playing so well up until that game. I’m done taking shots at Marvin because he can’t seem to find his groove.
It’s time for a fresh start (tip off is at 10 p.m., don’t be late).

On defense it looks like there’s ALWAYS an opening…..either with someone on the perimeter..or more embarrassingly a RIDE OPEN paint.
We’ve had too many games both last year and the year before where it seemed like teams had the paint open the entire contest…..you mean to tell me we can’t have corrected this after all of this time??

Settle down people, we’re always down to the Bobcats in their place every year and we come back. Refs aren’t blowing the whistle for us right now but it will turn around. Raja Bell won’t stay hot all game. Once again, Josh gets no respect, he gets clobbered twice and no calls. He is not a good free throw shooter you stupid referees so players will foul him intentionally if need be, and they are fouling him. Give him a f..king call!!

I’d rather see Josh miss layups than to see Bibby and Marvin (as well as Joe) miss jumpers. At least that means he’s attacking, and trying to draw fouls.

Teague played 4 minutes in the first half. Will he go over or under for the second half?
And the Bobcats are +10 in rebounds.
I hope Woody’s half time speech is different from the half time speech when we played the Lakers…

Where is the intensity? These guys are sleep out there. Josh and his free throw shooting is terrible. Nique’s commentary is terrible. Where is the defense? I would say we have to come out with some fire in the 3rd quarter but this team is known to come out flat after halftime. I wonder if Teague sees any time in the second half or was that all for him for the night.

Switching defense = retarded. They get our big men out on the perimeter on a switch, take them to the lane off the dribble, our perimeter guys collapse to help, and they kick it back out to someone (usually Raja) wide open on the perimeter.
You don’t think Larry Brown had a gameplan coming in? Good grief!

Bobcats +11 in rebounding, that just can’t happen especially when you’re allowing the other team to shoot better than 50%.
I have been disappointed with the Hawks defense this season, but excused it away because they played some fairly good offensive teams, I thought, but the Bobcats are not such a team.
This seems like a game where Teague should get more time and Collins’ bulk might be of some use.

The bad thing with the switching defense is when Bibby is involved. He ends up on a taller guy, or Josh ends up on a guard. Either way, a mismatch for the other team.
And I hate when Joe just dribble dribble, shoot. Where is the ball movement?

Big Ray I didn’t say we’re losing becuz of Horford. Where the hell are u getting this? If we actually have a true center then then Horford can go to power forward. And since Marvin is sorry at reebounding I’m sure getting a true center will improve our rebounding.
