The Hawks need Childress.. It is just too bad that everyone fell in love with Smith years ago, and kind did not give Childress a chance past 2005. Childress can run the floor and defend his man better than anyone on The Hawks roster (and Woodson is a defense-first type of coach). Plus, he just doesn't throw the ball away in crucial situations.

The Hawks are getting bigger and slower.. Veterans seem to become bigger, and slower, and these new additions won't help in that department. Hawks aren't jumping as high as they used too.. They are missing easy dunks, and lay-ups.. Chills gave them easy scores on finishes most of the time he was here. He was the 5th pick in the draft, and he did not take The World by storm in his rookie season, but The Hawks need what he provides: Speed, man-to-man defense, endurance, and finishing ability. He is the only "true Small Forward on this roster". I just see a great amount of Power Forwards on this roster who cannot run, and defend these athletic SFs and SGs in the NBA.

This is not the fast team that nearly ran The Celtics off the court two years ago..

Plus, The Hawks always seem tired, exhausted, and sluggish on the road! Chilldress seemed to retain his speed, focus, and intensity on the road.

This roster has enough scorers, they need
They just need to stop Childress's plane, and re-sign him.

The Hawks need speed and man-to-man defense to make it to The Eastern Conference Finals (past Lebron, The Celtics, and The Magic).

an someone please explain why the Lakers are 16 mill over the cap (32 mill in luxury taxes) before resigning Lamar (if they do) and so many teams are UNDER the cap? Why are these multi-millionaire/BILLIONAIRE owners scared to go into the luxury tax? 10 or 20 mill for these guys should be chump change. You’d assume an ownership group of 19 guys (ASG) would spend major bucks to get some major FA’s here.

Kurt Thomas is no worse than any other veteran big out there. The fact that he has played with the Spurs for 2 seasons (or so) and had the trust of Popovich speaks volumes of his ability to still play.

I don't want Mikki Moore. The guy has the thinnest-looking arms I have ever seen

"BTW: Anyone else heard the rumor that Detroit is pushing hard to trade Rip Hamilton (plus draft picks) for Joe Johnson?"

Dumars is smoking that good sh*t if he thinks he's getting a player of Joe's caliber in return for Rip. He has painted himself into a corner by signing Gordon -- at this point he has no choice but to move Rip, and I'm sure teams know this.
