A vile school bus video goes viral and victim may get a well deserved vacation

The video of Greece, N.Y., middle schoolers verbally attacking an elderly bus monitor is disturbing and the language is abhorrent but condemnation of the kids has been instant and universal.  An Internet effort is under way to collect money to send monitor Karen Klein on vacation.

These kids in the video are oafs. I hope their parents aren’t and will make these kids own up to their repulsive behaviors. Do not listen to this video with kids in the room. It is disgusting.

Here is the video:

According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle:

Greece police and school officials have questioned some students believed to have taunted and harassed a Greece Central School District bus monitor. A video of an incident, which happened Monday, is making the rounds online. It has gone viral with more than 100,000 hits by Wednesday afternoon.

Greece Police Capt. Steve Chatterton said Greece Central School District officials contacted police Wednesday morning regarding the 10-minute-long video, which contains explicit language and was posted on YouTube. The video shows several middle school students verbally abusing a female bus monitor while riding a school bus.

he school district said the bus monitor is Karen Klein, who has worked for the district for 23 years. She was a bus driver for 20 years and a bus monitor for the past three years. Klein, a grandmother of eight who lives in Greece, said she learned of the video Wednesday morning via Facebook and watched it at the district’s bus garage.

“It was like ‘wow,’” she said. “I can’t believe it happened … It was just plain mean. Nobody should have to put up with that.”

Klein said she didn’t report Monday’s incident to her supervisor because the school year was nearly over. She also said she did not feel threatened and that the kids “weren’t always that bad.”

Klein said she didn’t want the students to face criminal charges, but would like to see them “grounded all summer, or maybe all year.”And, Klein said, she would love an apology.

Klein also said she is hearing impaired and didn’t hear all of the taunting until she watched the video. “I was trying to just ignore them, hoping they would go away and it doesn’t work,” Klein said. “Trust me, they didn’t go away.”

Dozens of people have sent friend requests and notes expressing sympathy and support, she said. She also received several bouquets of flowers from strangers who were moved by the images. District spokeswoman Laurel Heiden said the district has received numerous emails and phone calls from as far as Australia regarding the incident. District officials said they learned of the incident and video Wednesday morning, and that at least two other similar videos were previously posted online.

Make an example that will send message! Tell administrators to have some kahonies for a change. Our schools have become too tolerant
and schools today are filled with thousand and THOUSANDS of punks like the ones in the video. The human garbage disquised as students have no fear because they know administrators are all failed teachers who want to have meetings and donuts instead of doing the tough jobs that administrators did in the past.

My collegues at the Institute for the preservation of psuedo self esteem for bratts, punks and spoiled little bastards and I have deliberated this ultra sensitive issue; we have consumed the midnight oil, as it were, in the quest to achieve wisdom on the driving question du jour…WHAT’S BOTHERING LITTLE JOHNNY? While there are some old school dinasaures who insist that a simple back of the hand applied “lovingly” against the sewer of an orifice which dares to emit such vulgarities, we are all 99.9999% sure that we all think that the pc dictates, which have placed a stranglehold on discipline in the schools is sure to screw this Country bigtime. It becomes all too apparent, in viewing (ostensibly) 12 and 13 year olds who…in the first place…have absolutely no business being in possession of such toys…know of absolutely no bounds in minimumly-acceptable public behavior, and whose gd parents are probably of the very same school of DO WHATEVER GD PLEASES YOU, THAT…left unchecked, in the most-harsh means humanly possible, this gd crap will only get worse. And we all have the gods of political correctness to thank for the social atrocity.

She should have asked the bus driver to return to school, and each one of them should have received a referral for a consequence that same day. They should not have been allowed to touch and taunt her that way. If the administrator failed to act on her referral, then the bus monitor should have taken it further. No one should put up with that kind of abuse.

Everyone seems to be in consensious that the parents and the kids are bad; recommending incarceration, punishment etc. for the kids’ dispicable behavior. Well, has anyone ever thought that some people just shouldn’t have kids in the first place and if they do and they are this dysfunctional in raising them perhaps it’s time to arrest the parents and start a list of bad parents to be published just like the child molestor lists. In time, the embarrassment and consequences of turning out monsters into our society, will finally motivate parents and prospective parents to do better and try harder to discipline.

STOP FASCILITATING! STOP THIS BS THAT JOHNNY/JANE WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT! STOP THE PHILOSOPHY THAT NO CHILD CAN EVER FAIL!

I have news for you folks, the harsh reality in life it that the only way we learn is through failure and the pain that results. Humans need limits set for them whether adults or children and until we go back to the days when discipline was harsh and the consequences put fear into people, we will never solve this dilemma. In fact, look for it to continue and to get worse exponentially.
