Man I can't wait to die and go to hell. Atleast in hell there will be no southern conservative christians tellin me whats wrong and right, who to hate, what religion to follow(there are many other religions, but of course they will all be in hell with me because they weren't born into or exposed to christianity.hehe), and that i need to base my life off a book that was written by people(not GOD)thousands of years ago(And re-written many times). Hell is sounding nicer everyday!

“The bit about being a failure and “looking for someone to blame” is rather hackneyed; I mean old stuff. Let’s see, retired in my 40s (52 now), net worth well into seven figures, still have all my hair and still its natural brown with very little gray; great body and I might catch a cold once every three years. But please, if it makes you feel better to believe I get around with a walker and slobber on myself all day, be my guest!” - Tim

While I am impressed that a 52 year-old could be such an expert on what constituted “proper society” 60 years ago, I’m underwhelmed by his “hackneyed” strategy of “deny, deflect, defend.” For one to opine that people of other races receive undeserved opportunities while actively (or passively) profiting from the heritage and legacy of slavery, would be laughable if it weren’t so sad. When dissecting societal ills, I suppose it can be expected that such a person would prefer to theorize around his own timeline of convenience. The post-civil rights era is more forgiving than, say, Jim Crow, or better yet, the grand old antebellum epoch. It is ever more interesting that such a person would cite “morals, character, life stability, etc.” in describing a quality person of another race; yet, exert his own societal appeal by extolling his net worth, hair color, and physique. How Aryan. If I decry the double standard, might such a person accuse me of “nit picking?” Ultimately, such people seem to have a hard time getting past their own assumptions of self-importance, i.e. accepting that the average random stranger doesn’t need to believe anything about them personally in order to feel better. What they fail to recognize is that, in the larger schematic of a progressively dynamic social order, they are inconsequential at best. Congratulations, Tim, (the collective) You are the inspiration for these columns and discussions. Now, while your confidence is soaring, go and tackle your allegorical sumo wrestler; lesser quality people than you do the analogous all the time.

Common, Your posts were not censored by me but by our automatic filter. If that is where they ended up, I would have freed them up and allowed them to post. So, if they are not on the site even now, they did not make it to us.

Tim,

I agree that the monitor should STOP CENSORING POSTS!!!... if the post are hate-filled then ppl WILL refute them and/or not even bother wasting their time on responding to that person whose views display a fundamental ignorance. My posts equating the legal legitimacy of gay marriage to the legal equivalence of polygamy were also censored. I did not say anything hateful to any group and they were still censored. I think it shows a fundamental lack of intellectual fortitude by deleting things that fall in line with freedom of speech, though I know that freedom is guaranteed on a private internet forum.

Timothy,

To be honest I had to step back and laugh at myself for even dedicating one minute of my day responding to some anonymous individual's ignorant ranting concerning race. Maybe if I go down the list of the things you have taught us, you too will see how absurd it is to respond to you:

According to Tim, blacks...
...are responsible for the mortgage meltdown
...should be prejudiced based on black-sounding names when applying for jobs
..., despite the aforementioned, get opportunities they don't deserve in the work place
...blacks lie on their resumes MUCH more than whites do which justifies the second point
...were better off 60 years ago than they are now
...of quality are over 50 (Obama is an anomaly)

Furthermore Tim, it may be disconcerting to you to see an abridged version of what you write but I can assure you that, contrary to your claim, I did not change the meaning of what you wrote.

You wrote "..many [blacks] get “opportunities” that they don’t deserve, which lowers standards, and creates a simmering resentment amongst others..."

to which I replied "...Tim, while I do believe you are absolutely 100% correct that ppl such as yourself have been both harboring (& fomenting) resentment..."

Timothy, your views are your own so own them. If you don't like it then change you views, don't expect ppl to change their view of you.

"Maybe Tim or one of his good old boys from back in the day can break it down for me little dumb me– that is if they can get a furlough from the nursing home. Most people like Tim are frozen in time– pining away for the good old days, regretting all they don’t have and didn’t become, and looking for someone to blame. I’ll do Tim the favor of not responding to whatever nonsense he spews next. I wouldn’t want to entice him to stay up past his bedtime."

"Tim, while I do believe you are absolutely 100% correct that ppl such as yourself have been both harboring (& fomenting) resentment,"

You can try and change what I write into what you want it to say if you like. I personally haven't been affected too much by these destructive policies; not professionally anyway. All of us (you too) are affected to some degree. Anyone living in the City of Atl or Fulton in general (or Dekalb or Clayton) can tell you that.

" I know that black ppl in the grand scheme of society in America are NOT getting all these undeserved opportunities at work. Tim did u know that if you have a black sounding name you are FAR LESS LIKELY to get a call back with your resume- this even when you are QUALIFIED AND MORE EDUCATED THAN PPL WHO HAVE WHITE SOUNDING NAMES. Tim, since you are so passionate about fairness will we see u standing up for the deserving black ppl who everyday have a tough time just getting a job by virtue of their name????"

So, why would corporate America feel this way when they see DeShawn, Plaxico, or Darontaroneous on a resume? As far as those stellar credentials you speak of, it is an unfortunate fact that blacks routinely lie on their resumes. Some whites do too of course, but blacks have that market cornered. This has been a BIG problem for years, with employers having a bit of hirer's remorse you might say.

"Tim, if you have deep seated resentment against blacks that’s fine, but why don’t you just say so unapologetically? Why the need to masquerade your clearly hateful viewpoints .."

This is the usual stock response. Again, you can try to change what I say into what you want me to say, but it doesn't change facts. Addressing facts might be a fine idea for people like you, then again, problem solving doesn't seem to be a specialty there. Keep in mind also that Maureen does censor posts she deems over the top. A comment I made about Obama's daddy impregnating the woman and then abandoning the family was censored, as I said it in a non-sugar-coated fashion. Don't get me wrong about Obama though, I backed him over McCain.
