my, I'm shocked at some of the comments here regarding our country, the founding of it, our founding fathers etc.

Jefferson's letter was regarding keeping the GOVERNMENT out of the churches, not the churches out of the government. The Treaty of Tripoli was rescinded. look it up. John Adams was a Christian.

Do some research into who prayed and had church services and where back then. Who prayed and had a Bible study prior to completing the writing of our constitution. You might want to find some history books published prior to about 1950 or so. Back before the progressives started deleting the truth about our country and founding fathers from the text.

As for the verses about praying in a closet - it does not mean we are to go into a closet to pray. While alone time with the Lord is a treasured time, that scripture was about those who would go out into the public areas praying loudly in an attempt to show others just how spiritual they were. (not) Their goal was to show off in front of others, not to honor the Lord. Christians DO pray in public, but for the correct reasons. If followers of Christ had gone into their closets (they had closets?) to pray quietly away from others, they would not have been martyred.

Rules of football:

1)Ask Jesus to help you knock the living sh** out of your opponent.
2)Ask Jesus for forgiveness for knocking the living sh** out of your opponent.
3)Repeat #1 & #2.

Poor spelling and grammar. Illogical arguments. Ignorance. Anti-Christ attitude. Hypocrisy. Wow.
It is quite evident that this is a government school blog.
Meanwhile, we free market educators (especially Christians) are the only ones truly practicing "separation of church and state." YET YOU DEMAND THAT I PAY to educate Jews, Hindus, Atheists, Satanists, Vegans, Buddhists, etc. Funny. My God provides education for my children AS WELL AS FOR THOSE WHO HATE HIM! Isn't He good?

DAVID...Of all the claptrap I have read in this blog...your statement..."Bet if the school caught fire & there were children trapped inside…….there would appeals for Devine intervention……even from big LIBs". is the most offensive - I am a bleeding heart, die-hard liberal and I truly object to the suggestion that I turn to no diety! My faith is deep and personal and important to me! While I may not try to shove it down someone's throat or judge others with it, I am still a Christian. (I also respect others' rights to not be)...I believe that Jesus is the ultimate liberal! Read his words, look at his friends and his actions and you might see where I'm coming from. This blog was about injecting faith into football (does God intervene in a game in which a bunch of kids run up and down a field smashing each up over a piece of pigskin?!) ...it is NOT a place for us to attack each others' faith (V for Vedetta,..or lack of it.

But I think the difference is, and the "outrage" is that a government-run public school, an agency of the government, should not allow one group of students, i.e. citizens, to have more rights because the majority agrees with the group, while the minority has to remain silent because, well, they are the minority. If the offended do send their kids to a private christian based school, that's fine, they probably value the education over the religious teachings. But I can understand your view that they are being hypocrtitical
