The voters have had their say, and soon we’ll find out the results of today’s election. Polls closed at 7 p.m.
What’s the outcome of the historic T-SPLOST initiative — the penny sales tax referendum on transportation issues in metro Atlanta? Voters also decided on representatives for this fall’s legislative races.

…but don’t you see? TSPLOST was a regional initiative for a reason. It won’t help for a county to have express lanes, improved roads, etc if they stop at the county line. You actually give a rather compelling reason to have voted “Yes” for tsplost.

To the TSPLOST supporters here – How do you feel about being lied to so often from the Untie Atlanta group citing polls that it would win?

I find it funny that the State of Georgia’s available drinking water supply, which last time I checked is the most critical need for a population, is the number one issue threatening present and future growth yet we are all worked up about TSPLOST. Georgia’s transportation system is one of the best and best maintained in the Country. It is not perfect and can be improved, but will not be the reason the Region experiences a decline in the next ten years.

Kris,
I totally agree. If you want something then pay a user fee for it. They need to put their money where their big entitled mouths are.

@Centrist…It has not even occurred to me that I was lied to by anyone. I only have deep disappointment in my hometown/state and its bleak future.

Vince,
I like your spirit, but you were mislead on this one. I will stick with the other 75% who saw through the smoke and mirrors.

Want to encourage more economic growth, do away with the income tax like all our surrounding states. We would all get a hell of a lot more out of that than what the TSPLOST lobby was promising.

Thomas B @ 10:15 pm: I suggest moving to New York City. They have world-class transit systems and the sales tax in the NYC is only 8.875%, less than the 9.5% sales tax Atlanta would have had if the TSPLOT had passed.

I guess the Inside the Perimeter (ITP) vote is finally being tallied. It takes more time when ballots have to be stuffed, and the slower dead vote counted.
