Nathan Deal claims victory

Republican Nathan Deal claimed victory Tuesday night in Buckhead. He said he had spoken with Democrat Roy Barnes on the phone before making his speech at about 11:45 p.m.

“Georgia has placed its faith in the Republican party and we are not going to let them down,” said Deal to cheers.

Late Tuesday, Deal led Barnes with about 53 percent of the vote. Barnes had 43 percent, Libertarian John Monds about 4 percent.

As the returns rolled in Tuesday night, Republicans were confident they would win all statewide offices.

“This is not an election,” said GOP chairwoman Sue Everhart. “This is a restraining order against Barack Obama.”

In other statewide races, all GOP candidates had at least 54 percent of the vote. U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson was declared an early winner with more than 60 percent of the vote against Democratic challenger Michael Thurmond.

“It looks like our numbers are continuing to rise, and we can win without a runoff,” Deal said as he entered the Grand Hyatt ballroom early Tuesday evening in Atlanta. “”If we can split the numbers of independents, I think we’re going to come out on top.”

“I think we have an excellent chance of sweeping the entire slate,” Deal told reporters. “I’m convinced they’d all do a great job for the offices they’re running for.”

A sweep of Constitutional offices would transform how business gets done in Georgia, he said. “Having a team that I can depend on, a team that can work cooperatively, that’s something we haven’t had in this state,” Deal said. “Having a team that is all on the same page is good for the state. We all know we have challenges in this state, and we have to work together to solve them.”

Jobs and the economy would be the main focus, and something that each office could help others with, Deal said.

“There are all these pieces to the puzzle, and when they fit, that’s good for our state,” Deal said.

He acknowledged that he was tired from campaigning.

“I’m glad this part of it is over,” Deal said. “Now, it’s like when your wife is in labor. There’s nothing else I can do. It’s in the voters’ hands.”

Barnes, who conceded shortly after Deal made his speech, knew he faced an uphill battle in what promised to be a Republican year.

“It is hard for a Democrat to get elected anywhere,” he said early Tuesday night, and then referenced Christine O’Donnell in the Delaware U.S. Senate race. “The witch apparently got beat. Apparently you have to be a witch to be off the far end if you’re a Republican.”

If you voted for Deal then I NEVER EVER want to hear you complain about “character” or ethics again. You voted for this guy despite countless scandals and ethics violations. This is one of the saddest days in Georgia history.

Monopolies are unhealthy in business and in politics. When you live in a one party state, you don’t really have a choice. We will now have a crooked man as Governor. He will either be insolvent or in jail in the coming months (I guess either way, Hall County gets their own the Governor).

the only reason Barnes was thrown out for no name Sonny was b/c Barnes did the right thing and changed the state flag. If he hadn’t done it, Atlanta would be missing out on all sorts of conferences, sport tournaments and other economically positive events that had banned the state because of the flag.

I’m personally tired of dishonest people in office which is why I think Barnes should be put back in office

Seems to me that both sides want to destroy America. Anyone with a brain must either come to that conclusion or, and this is a better conclusion to come to, realize that the vast majority of people that run for public office do so for reasons other than trying to better the lives of the citizens they hope to represent.

All you right wing and left wing nut-jobs are fools. Open your eyes. See what the Republicans did from 1994 to 2006. See what the Democrats have done from 2006 to 2010. The difference is where they want to put the money. Both parties like big government. Hell, I don’t have a problem with big government as long as it is working for the people and not special interests. That’s a hell of a qualification though, isn’t it?

Those that are so much against Obama, why don’t you just say it is because he is black and you don’t want him leading you! That has been your cry for more than two years. Regardless what he does, the republicans will so NO! Just like that dumb Nancy Reagan did years ago, and that didn’t work. Do you really think what Obama has done in the last two years will be undone by those jerks! Hell no!!! The average American has benefitted from Obama and his policies and that is more than 75% of the electorate. Obama has not raised any taxes, nor imposed gun contol, issues that Republicans always use as a rallying cry. Again only because he is Black are most who are opposed to him are making so much noise! Now, what are the republicans really going to do to make things better? Nothing. Look at ASS backward Georgia for the last eight years. No progress. No lower taxes! Actually they have gone up! Tag fees! Business licenses! Unemployment in the state! And we here in Georgia is about to put a republican thug in office! Just like the British said in ‘04, how can so Many Americans be so dumb! I pray that Obama use his veto pen every opportunity he has over the next two years! And for Georgia! Watch where we end up at! And then what???????

2010 and 2009 Budget Deficit:
CBO estimates that the federal budget deficit was slightly less than $1.3 trillion in fiscal year 2010 and $125 billion less than the shortfall recorded in 2009. The 2010 deficit was equal to 8.9 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), CBO estimates The 2010 deficit was the second-highest shortfall—and 2009 the highest—since 1945, relative to the size of the economy.

2008 and 2007 Budget Deficit:
US Budget Deficit: 2008 Doubles 2007
The Congressional Budget Office projects the federal deficit for fiscal 2008 (which ends September 30) at $407 billion for fiscal 2008, more than double last year’s figure. Next year’s deficit is currently projected at $438 billion — that’s before taking into account Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. As the Wall Street Journal notes, the problem is spending, which is expected to hit 21.5% of GDP next year.

What ever happened to the CONSERVATE WING of the Democrat Party that stood up for the rights of workers and the middle class? That believed in family values, patriotism, and the love of our country?

The Democrat party has been hijacked by the failed misbelievers in SOCIALISM AND COMMUNISM…which is why I will NEVER SUPPORT a political party that is willing to sellout all the freedoms we as Americans enjoy in a FREE-MARKET SOCIETY, for more GOVERNMENT INTRUSION AND CONTROL of our lives, our property, and our incomes.

If I came to any of you and asked you if I could be in charge of your financial portfolio and you knew upfront there were some serious questions about my finances and other ethical issues would you allow me to take it and be in charge of it? This man can’t control his own finances and the hatred for a president that happens to not be white is crazy when you think about the possibility that you all are willing to go with a ethically challenged insensitive hate filled crook that wants nothing but to be able to give himself and his buddies favors.

Dems nor the president are perfect but you can’t have an environment where no one wants to stand up and honor us as Americans, black or white, and say we need to work together. I haven’t heard one republican say that they will work on both sides of the aisle because we the people deserve it. Dems have the same responsibility and they aren’t living up to their end either. Seriously? Bush and Perdue are both awful and have driven our state and country into the ground. How can you blame a president in office for such a short period of time when the last president ruined our economy? Deal is a crook and you “conservative” repubs are clueless if you think he has values, morals or ethics. What a joke. My ballot had libertarians, Dems and repubs on it, but Deal wasn’t even considered!

Anyone elected president would be in the same boat today. What they walked into was awful and the worst economic crisis to happen in a long, long time. Wouldn’t be any better with Mcain. Bush had 8 years and look what he left. I am not a huge Obama fan either just as I am not a huge Barnes fan. That being said Barnes clearly has a better track record than Deal. One thing I know people hate for race to be mentioned. “Those blacks always whine but it’s not about race it’s about socialism”. The point is clear the word “n-gg-r” has been replaced with other buzz words that strike fear/anger into (white)peoples hearts. The simple fact no one, including myself, thought we would see a black man President of the United States. Now that has happened it is the living nightmare of some whites.

We have had corrupt policticians in BOTH parties and while people moaned and complained I have never seen the level of disrespect this President has received. While I do not agree with some of his policies, I respect the fact he is the President and is owed a certain amount of respect. I can remember when people called you un-American for not agreeing with some of President Bush’s war policies. Where was all of this outrage when the prior presidents were sending our jobs overseas and factories were closing left and right. Have you called to make a hotel reservation lately? Good luck getting someone who speaks fluent English. I say it’s too late to “take your country back”. It was sold about 10 years ago.

Obama Mamma or whomever you are, My paystub has the same taxes withheld from Bush II. Small business and their issues: If Bush II’s wealthy tax cuts weren’t there then small businesses could receive a larger tax break to free up money to hire more people. Jobless rate: Need I remind you that this started with a lie about Saddam Hussien and Iraq and it backfired. See our greedy government thought that they could somehow blame SH for 911 and that would give us the excuse to invade Iraq and as a result put a stranglehold on the Mid-East oil haven. Why do you think all of sudden Iran has looked the U.S. in the face and said, “Here I am, come get some if you want it bad enough”? We spent billions in a country where we had no business at all. We could have used that money and blew every mountain up in Afganistan and Pakistan until the coward rat would have been dead or the governments of these country would have said No Mas, here he is.

As for your smart comment about assuming I’m employed: I am and my work everyday involves using your tax dollars and mine to take care of men and women who are brave and honrable. I don’t know about you but I don’t live by greed so my tax dollars are worth them and more including you as a human being.

THAT’S SUBSTANCE. WHERE’S YOURS?

Barnes was an unadulterated failure. As Sonny Perdue said, “I wouldn’t think you’d hire a guy you fired just a few years ago.” He did nothing to create jobs, as he claims. He was the beneficiary of being Governor when companies were falling over themselves to move to Georgia. He made it more difficult than it should have been. He announced Daimler-Chrsyler moving to Savannah when they said they weren’t ready to. He was an embarrassment.

Not surprised, Georgia is always about a decade behind the national trend. Let the Republicans have all the levers, then they have to take all the blame. When a church deacon told me that if you voted Democrat you were immoral, that told me all I needed to know. People are just now conditioned to vote Republican. For many years it was Democrat. What this means for the state is really not much of a change. No real ethics law, a continued attack on public schools, and more cronyism. Happy Days

What a shame. All of you have forgotten what it took to help Atlanta grow proudly since the Civil War. Years of Democratics leading this state. Roy, in his last term in office stood up for what Atlanta could be after the Olympics – a winner. Instead, you got a bunch of babies in Lawrenceville upset about spending money on the outer perimeter – what have we seen since? Roy had not 1 but 2 resevoirs teed up – what do you have now Atlanta? – NO WATER – unless you pay Buford and Gainesville – Gwinnett and Hall County – a WATER tax ( want to know what is really behind Nathan Deal running for Governor?), a change to the flag – what a bunch of morons for ignoring how critical that was to venues and continued prosperity for this fine state – and teachers crying about change in the classroom – while Gwinnett county gets paid 1 MILLION for having the best school system in the entire USA ..fundamentally a continuum of what Roy started- and yes appropriately succeeded from the rule of the state of GA – due to no progress, only beauracracy since his exit. Remember that Hope Scholarship? Watch our younger families start to hurt and our fine universities start to fail as the administration that you elected seizes that pile of money – for emergency funding for state operations. In Roys term, an inland port was being discussed. Watch the complaining in 2012 and 2013 as the opening of the Panama Canal moves closer to reality. Think we have enough traffic now? Try the busiest port on the East Coast in Savannah. Try the busiest cargo airport in the country – stalled due to inability to land the largest cargo planes. Try third and fourth place in passenger travel as we can not land the largest Airbus A350 planes – unless we wipe out a city. We have the chairperson for the Federal Rail Association right here in GA. Did we get any High Speed Rail Money? not a cent. You voters out there, you deserve what you get. Make your bets 4 years from now, you will all be crying that Charlotte, Birmingham, Huntsville, Chatanooga are the best places to live in the Southeast region. Roy stood for economic growth and that means jobs. Atlanta will become a poor city that leads to a devastated regional economy and in 4 years it will be blaah blaah blaah…what we might have become. Georgia … where voters made the difference in 2010. Try Houston for a great model of how not to run a city.
Personally I moved here from somewhere else, all kids have taken advantage of Hope so I can say Thanks Atlanta, it was good while it lasted. Call me at my new Charlotte – the true Jewel of the South address.

Barnes was never ‘fired’ — he was ousted by a pack of pitchfork-toting redneck neanderthal ‘flaggers’ who believed Perdue who restore the Confederate Battle Flag to the Georgia flag. Perdue manipulated these sincere but ignorant people to get elected — leading them to believe he would allow Georgia to vote to restore the old flag. He never had any intention of doing such (and with reason, because the old racist confederate flag has no place in modern GA), but used these people to just to get into office. So, to say Georgians ‘fired’ Roy Barnes is incorrect — it’s more like Sonny Perdue got the job by falsifying his application…

You don’t see it being popular in liberal states like MA and NJ, where they actually give more in Fed taxes than they would ever see return back into their states.

The fact is, if you truly want to cut the Fed budget in a serious manner…you better be prepared to cut our severely slashed state budget by around 33% more unless you plan on finding other methods of raising state revenue.

Excuse me, Trey, but who pays for the military?! Last time I checked, it is not a private corporation. I never chose to pay for military spending — yet I accept it. I just happen to believe that my tax dollars should go to funding things that are more tangible in my life and in the lives of my family and neighbors (such as universal health care) as opposed to wars in the middle east that have no impact on my life, and the utility of which are highly questionable.

Trey, let me get this straight … you are a retired member of the armed services and you are disrespecting everything the president represents???????? And DO NOT play the race card with me – I am just wondering why all the idiot rednecks in this state – and around this country – feel free to decimate our president. I am very proud of him – with the exception that he is not aggressive enough. I recall when an anti bush person appeared at a rally, speech, or whatever, they were forecefully removed from the event. Obama lets them come and speak their mind. Far more class in my mind.

J. Amis, no stuff that it is not a private corporation. However, you are paying those to do a service that you would not do, yourself. However, I rather pay taxes for the military to keep the nation secured than for health care of those who don’t get off their lazy asses.

Nancy, did I say I was retired? I haven’t disrespected everything the president represents, however I do not like the majority of the stuff he represents. In fact, I am a third party supporter. You think I am “disrespecting” the president, you should hear the stuff an ex-Marine I know from Vietnam says about him, or many people I have met when in the service. To call anyone ignorant or redneck for not supporting Obama is classless in my mind. You say people who questioned Bush got kicked out of his speeches, what about the man who was tasered when questioning John Kerry or the guy thrown out for questioning Clinton about the Bohemian Group?

We probably agree on more than you think. I think if more people informed themselves on issues instead of listening to pundits (e.g. Limbaugh, Hannity, Olberman) we would find that we share more in common than we think. Most of us want our children to suceed, a job with fair wages, decent healthcare, good schools, affordable higher education, affordable housing, and a peaceful world to name a few. We just disagree on how we get there.

How is invading other countries keeping us secure? Keeping the country secure is defending the homeland — nothing more. Not invading Iraq, Afganistan, etc.

Frankly, I’m not content paying my taxes for others to do a job I never asked them to do (kind of like those homeless window-washers who come and wash your windshield and then expect payment). I never asked anyone to invade Iraq and run up billions of dollars in debt. I’d much rather see that money go to fund public universal health care, rather than wasting money on wars and simultaneously seeing my hard earned money (in addition to taxes) go to make health insurance companies rich (in the form of health insurance premiums).

And talk about people who can’t get a job — most of our military is made up of poor high school dropouts who can’t get a job anywhere else…

Trey

November 2nd, 2010
10:27 pm

J. Amis, I am not talking about invading other countries. We have to have a military to protect OUR country. J. Amis, if that’s what you believe that’s fine, but if we didn’t have a military we wouldn’t last a second in this world. If you don’t want to see your “hard earned money” going into insurance compaines, then don’t have health insurance. Your problem is not that you don’t want health care, your problem is that you want others to foot your health care bill. Why don’t you complain about welfare.

Also, no our military is not mostly made up of poor, high school drop outs who can not get a job anywhere else. In fact, the military pretty much takes nothing less than a high school diploma anymore, in some cases G.E.D. Get some knowledge on the subject before making asinine comments.

I don’t want others to ‘foot the bill’ for my health care. I just want the tax dollars I already pay to pay for health care for me and other US citizens — rather than funding unnecessary, expensive wars! I’m not opposed to having a military to DEFEND the country — but don’t try to convince me that the whole Iraq invasion had anything to do with defending the country!

OK, I was out of line in saying ‘high school dropouts’ — but it is a fact that most enlisted recruits are from poor or disadvantaged backgrounds. It’s not rich kids dieing for the interests of the rich corporations, it’s poor kids…

Trey

November 2nd, 2010

Trey

Yes, you were way out of line for saying that, J.Amis. I don’t want to pay taxes for health care because I don’t want to pay for those sitting on their asses just taking advantage of the system.

If you applied the same logic to national defense, Trey, then everyone who does not serve in the military would be ’sitting on their asses taking advantage of the system’. If you feel that way, then fine. But to be consistent with your views, military service should be REQUIRED of EVERY citizen — women included!

Philly

November 2nd, 2010
10:44 pm

I don’t think there are as many people just sitting around abusing the system as you think. People want to work there are just no jobs to be had. We need to make something again in this country and put people back to work. No offense, but it’s very frustrating calling a help desk and not understand the person on the other line. Why can’t the people right here in our country do these jobs.

Trey

November 2nd, 2010
10:44 pm

J. Amis, I am consistant with my views. You missed the point, as I am not talking about those who do not serve in the military are sitting on their ass. I am talking about those who collect a welfare check, have kids they can not support and don’t even attempt to find any kind of job.

I don’t completely agree that people should be required to serve in the military, because we are a Democratic/Republic and it should be an all volunteer force. However, if we were to bring a draft back, I do believe that women should be required to sign up for the Selective service program.

Trey

November 2nd, 2010
10:46 pm

Philly, no you are right, not everyone milks the system, but there are many that do and I don’t want to support them. I think supporting others should be left for volunteer work. I also hate jobs getting shipped over seas, but it’s obvious neither the Republicans nor Democrats will change that, because it is cheaper for corporations.

J. Amis

November 2nd, 2010

I wish to distinguish, Trey, between welfare and publicly funded public goods. Welfare is another debate that I’ll leave aside for the moment. I’m talking about publicly funded goods that benefit all citizens — such as social security, medicare and, yes, national defense. Universal health care is not ‘welfare’ — it’s a public good just like medicare and social security. If you’re against medicare and social security, then fine — I respect that opinion (even if I don’t share it). But to illustrate how illogical many people are, I’ll quote a sign I saw at an anti-Obamacare rally: ‘keep you dirty government hands out of my medicare!’ — in seeing that I really didn’t know whether to laugh or cry!

nancy

I support liberitarians (prefix, liberal) but I also know the military is supposed to support the COMMANDER IN CHIEF. Part of the job description. By the way – when folks were drafted during the vietnam war, all the rich kids got out – and I know this first hand. Again, Trey, thanks for your service, but your anti democratic rhetoric says you support the very people that hold their own bank accounts in higher regard than the poor and middle class in this country. They could not care less about us. And that includes CROOK DEAL. Democratic means democracy. You sound intelligent so I guess you know what it means.

Some way or another, we need to get this country straightened out. Maybe we should start on the bottom and work up…start at the roots – the state governments. I do believe there are more votes for the opposite party when people are not happy with the party leading the country. This was our chance to speak up – let our voices be heard. That is our right as Americans. We do still have that right. Thank God. If everyone would just work together for a common goal. Caucasian, Native American, African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, or whatever…I hope you all exercised your right as an American and voted. The voices are being heard. There is no other choice than to support and encourage those who will take office. All Americans should take an active role in our state and federal government. Start now… Send voice messages, letters, emails, etc on your views and wishes. Those elected are here to represent you. Don’t just complain…get involved and do something about our country. Get it back to the founding roots establish by our forefathers. Do something about it!!

Hey Frustrated,

We were voting for GOVERNOR of Georgia, not the President of the USA! Last I checked there was no liberal Democratic Party governing Georgia, so if you’re voting to spite Obama, that makes no sense – hope you like all those rate hikes for GA Power and AGL, because Republicans (like the Republican Public Service Commissioner) LOVE to hand out giant freebies to their corporate friends at the cost of regular people. And hope you like rich greedy banks that can get away with murder, because now that we have a bankrupt governor who’s desperate to cut a deal with them and get out debt, they’ll get whatever they want.

(I’m so confused – during 2008 Repubs kept saying Obama had no experience, but then Deal comes in with the experience GOING PERSONALLY BANKRUPT, and with an obviously bad business sense, and that’s ok to run an entire state?)

To Frank @ 8:40: What the heck kind of argument is that? How does comparing Bill Clinton’s or Barney Franks’s supposed “ethics” violations (actually, Clinton’s was just a personal moral failing – ask Larry Craig, he’ll tell you what that is) to the ACTUAL ethics violations of Deal himself reflect poorly on Barnes?? What kind of twisted Orwellian logic is that? Oh, right, the same third-grade logic that mocked John Kerry for his ACTUAL service in Vietnam while W went AWOL!!

Yep, congratulations, GA. This ‘elite’ is heading back to New England, where MA has 8% unemployment (unlike 10+% in GA), better schools, and higher paying employment. Enjoy all those low-paying service jobs, y’all! I guess you can continue to reward people who only aim to take advantage of you without the help of people who can actually form a coherent argument.

When I challenged him on that I found out he thought all of our Presidents have been stupid, with the exception of Bill Clinton! But one point which was interesting is when I asked him about graduation rates in GA. He said its a cultural thing, most southernors do not value education as much as other parts of the US. Thank God. A conservative movement is sweeping across the nation, and the first thing we do is to bind that idiot we have stuck in the White House with no way to succeed. Great job Deal. Glad to have you as our great state’s 82nd Governor. You and all of the other newly elected Republlcans can now go and take down this liberal idiocy we have going on in Washington. Time for an end to liberalism

The Democrats made their bed when they nominated Barnes…don’t act surprised that he was soundly rejected by Georgians. His pompous, arrogant single term was enough. I only hope this attempt to win statewide office is the last we will be forced to endure. A little Roy Barnes goes a long way and we had enough eight years ago!

OK Deal ,you won, the Georgia voters ,have proven, you REALLY can’t fix stupid ! NOW we expect hundreds of new jobs, SAT scores, above 2000; and no crime, we expect this within your first 90 days in office, the SAME standard you TEAPUBLICANS held the President to ! Hit the ground running ..Georgia you have chosen your own poison, NO WHINING for the next FOUR YEARS will be allowed !

GTPhenom, you all love to label liberals as “socialists” or “communists” (or whatever other big words you all love to use that you don’t really understand the definition of) yet you call for an “end to liberalism”? So everyone must agree with you and all the other conservatives? Isn’t that “communist”? You all only want big government when it suits you and your beliefs.

If you were impressed with how much graft Nathan Deal got away with because of his Congressional influence, just wait until you see what this crook does with the Governors office.

Barnes was a successful Governor, especially when you look at the mess this state is in after 8 years of Purdue.

Remember when people in other states actually wanted to move here? Remember when this was a state that was growing economically? Eight years was a long time ago indeed….I guess you forgot what it was like when this state was on the upswing.

So what? We will have low taxes for businesses but when we don’t have any water and our infrastructure is crumbling, traffic doesn’t get any better and there are no alternatives to sitting in traffic will businesses bother relocating here? Will more jobs be created?

Let’s face it, we know all of you rural Georgians hate Atlanta, but the metro area carries this state. Most jobs and businesses are in the Atlanta area and so is the job growth. If Atlanta has no water, terrible traffic, and no upgrades to its infrastructure how the hell are we suppose to improve the states economy? Because businesses and high paying jobs aren’t coming to rural Georgia.

This state has bled red, with Purdue, Isakson, & Chambliss for quite some time now. Yet, it’s “Obama’s fault” our unemployment % skyrockets above the national average? I don’t think so. If all of these great ideas for job creation hasn’t happened in the previous 4yrs, why should we have any hope now??? Conservatism=More of the Same, quite frankly.

I almost feel sorry for you losers, but then I remember that you and your sick little Obama are trying to tear this country apart because you’re either

A) Too idiotic to realize what disgusting things you’re doing to our country.
B) Intentionally trying to tear it down as a joke
C) You’re a sadistic freak that likes watching people suffer.

Liberals are losers… you are so out of touch with reality. So completely out of touch it is scary. God gave you money? Does he only give certain people money? Or do people make money for themselves? Hmmm, I think I’ll go with the latter. Also, even if Republicans had 100% control, you will still pay taxes and pay for things you will never use. Why? BECAUSE THAT IS HOW IT WORKS SMARTY PANTS. You live in a community with other people! If you don’t want to pay anything do us all a favor and move to an island in the middle of the ocean!

Finally, it seems like you have an inferiority complex with liberals. It’s not the liberals fault for why you are the way you are: ignorant, uneducated, and miserable.

Liberals are Losers

November 3rd, 2010

You think I’M out of touch with reality? Ask all other Republicans and they’ll say the same thing. You are trash. I can’t even call you “people”. If you’re stupid enough to believe all this laughably immoral bs about sick things like abortion and gay marriage, you don’t DESERVE to have the title of “people”.

People sitting around their houses eating Cheetos should not have to make hardworking citizens like me pay for their leisure. If they’re legitimately good people, they will support themselves. As for education, the liberal government needs to keep their slimy faces out of my child’s life, teaching them about evolution and garbage like that. We can support OURSELVES. Stay out of the hospitals and businesses. Government is there for the primary reason of making sure nasty things don’t interfere with our lives (a.k.a. liberals).

It’s funny how you will call people idiots because they’re Republicans. Newsflash: we’re the only ones who actually know what we’re doing. Too bad you can’t see what you’re doing to our country.

Liberals are losers, you indeed ARE out of touch with reality.

1) You think everyone must believe what you believe or else they should be kicked out of the state or country (and that is NOT what America stands for). I don’t care what other people do with their life because it doesn’t affect ME or MY values. Also, those issues are not even important right now! We have bigger issues, like the economy.

2) I called you in particular an idiot because well, look at your comments! You sound like an ignorant idiot.

3) Republicans have no idea what they are doing either. You will all be let down, rest assured. In 2 years, it will be the same old same old. The Republicans will continue to not work with the Democrats and both parties will not compromise and get issues solved. All the Republicans are going to do is NOTHING and stop whatever they can (even if it may be good for our country) and then blame the President for doing nothing. It’s all part of their power-hungry scheme to take over all control in 2012. Yeah, that will be great – no checks and balances – we’ll see how far that gets us all. You can be all excited and post your ignorant comments now, but just wait as it won’t last long and you’ll see who is going to really ruin this country…

4) At the state level here in Georgia, our pressing needs will most likely not be resolved. I hope Deal can tackle the water, education, and transportation issues we face because that is what’s holding this states economy back. If the major metro area of our state can’t get water, the infrastructure in the Atlanta area is not upgraded to provide more alternatives, and the public school system in the rest of the state continues to suck, Georgia’s economy is not going to turn around. I’m afraid Deal doesn’t have the balls or the will to make the tough decisions to get this resolved. I hope I am wrong, but only time will tell.

Wow! It`s sad and disturbing how racist you all are… The main people who say racism doesn`t exist. When will we wake up? Race is simply a politcal term used only when it`s time to check a box. There is only 1 race and that is the human race. The same people who claim to be Christians are the same ones slandering other cultures but claim to worship the God of all. God is not for White people or Black people, but for people. Man came up with these labels to keep us seperated and dislike each other. If given the same resources, acces and opportunities many people in some of these underpriviledged and disenfranchised communities would thrive and grow to be productive citizens. Black, White, red or other productive people are good for our country. We our such a shallow country and unfortunately racism is alive and well worst than it was in 1860.

What’s new? The abject ignorance and gullibility of the Georgia Electorate has been a national joke for a long time – our bottom of the barrel school systerm has produced the voters I knew it would. The true absurdity is the notion on anyone’s part that Nathan Deal has a clue about how to manage
finances. Since he grew rich peddling influence in elected office, we will at least have the pleasure of watching him lose it all through stupidity. But we will all be paying off his mortgages for the next 4 years.

Deal or Roy…whatever! Lessor of two evils if you ask me, one has proven himself incompetent I’ll leave it for everyone else to decide whom I’m referring too. Amendment 1 is where my beef lies…thanks uninformed Georgia voters!!! Once this gets amended into the GA Constitution, expect everyone from AJC to Publix have their employees sign a non-compete agreement. If you don’t understand what that is and how it can effect you, don’t worry…you soon will. Georgia WAS a right to work state, now that Amendment 1 passed it just opened the flood gates for unions and strict non-competes to rush right in and the “blue pencil” won’t be able to save anyone, anymore. Don’t know what the “blue-pencil” is…then you that voted “YES” shouldn’t have voted on this amendment as you were uninformed!!!! Before anyone goes “high and mighty” on me, YES I was born and raised in Georgia and I’ve had to sign non-compete agreements and fight them.
