Doing the math on potential Republican gains in the fall

It’s 11 weeks until the November midterm elections and Washington political blogger Jamie Dupree says he’s already doing his election night homework.

He says that while conventional wisdom on the Hill is that Republicans can gain at least a dozen Senate seats, they will also have to fight to hold on to several others.

In the House, “forty seats the magic number for Republicans to win in November, if they are going to take control of the House of Representatives.”  Read Dupree’s entire post.

We would do well to remember that the economy today, while still far from ideal, is much stronger than it was when Obama and this Democratic congress was sworn in, in January 2009. While a lot of folks are justifiably frustrated by the sometimes slow progress, remember that it was the Republican President and Republican congress’s actions in the early 2000’s that got us in this mess, and in the past year and a half they have done nothing to help suggest alternatives out of it, other than extending tax cuts to their wealthy cronies. At least the Democrats have tried to help middle-class and poor suffering voters, even if not everyone agrees with every proposal they have pushed through. But doing something is better than standing on the sidelines waiting for the other side to fail, in my opinion.
Remember – the Republicans got us in this mess in the first place – why would we go back to them again??

Democrats are such easy prey….. millions of Americans out of work under the Obama Administration, the US Government maxed out on credit and debt to our deadliest enemies, all while this incompetent idiot takes his family on lavish vacations and tours the daily talk show scene. We’ve spent billions on a stimulus plan that Warren Buffett stated he regretted ever supporting after Pelosi, Reid and Obama filled it full of entitlements and pork. This man is not only incompetent, he’s clueless.

If you are a Democrat, or a Republican, and you side with your party 100% of the time – you are an idiot. I’m conservative, but appreciate where the president’s heart is on many social issues. However, I remind myself that everything has to be paid for! And federal agencies are the least efficient and effective organizations at managing anything as they are overrun with political hacks! As such, we need to move many of the services out of the government and into the free enterprise system.

gm – Your OK with $2.50/gal gas? I remember under Bush it got down to 75 cents/gal. You kinda forgot that, huh?
Everything was going fine until 2006, when who took over congress? DEMOCRATS! So don’t be so high and mighty.
