Huckabee backs Deal in GOP runoff

From blogger Jim Galloway:

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, who won the 2008 presidential primary in Georgia,  just issued his formal endorsement of Nathan Deal in the race for governor. Though he doesn’t mention Deal’s rival, Karen Handel, by name, Huckabee expressed concern over the “negative tone” of the contest. Read more.

Interesting endorsement. While I’m not a Huckabee fan, I certainly agree with his decision to endorse Nathan Deal. Anyone remotely connected to the South could see the hostility and divisive nature of the Handel campaign. She has become an embarassment to all of the conservative women I know. She prides hersefl on her pristine ethics whle slinging mud at every turn. The entire Republican legislature has endorsed Nathan Deal because they prefer someone they can work with…not someone like Karen Handel who thinks they are all “good ole boys” who need to “put on big boy pants”. There is no excuse for the trashy mouthed “mama grizzly” routine…It is appealing to NO ONE.

Won’t be watching his FOX show any more. Boring any way. You Deal folks have gone off the deep end. If you can’t handle Handel talking about your candidate’s ethics problems, just wait–God forbid–if you are the nominee and Barnes gets hold of your guy.

Karen Handel means we win and her experience and genuine Republican conservatism will lead to needed reform among the GOP elected in Georgia. Deal brings years of DC experience, running up deficits, giving our majority away to the Democrats and if he is the nominee we can expect the same corruption that took down the GOP in DC to come to Georgia. Go Karen, go. Bring it on!

The repukeclican legislature is corrupt which explains the endorsement of Nathan “Crooked” Deal. Go ahead and nominate him and make my day!

For the life of me I don’t understand how anyone who is not “Brain Dead” could support a lying, corrupt 18 yr.Beltway Boy who was run out of Congress because of his 18year run of corruption. If the “Man” was innocent he would have stayed and faced his accusers. His running away is the same as a confession. If I want corruption in the State House I’ll vote for “King Roy”.

Oh, look! Marge toddled out of the kitchen again! Isn’t your husband’s dinner getting cold?

The Georgia Legislature could work with Glenn Richardson, too, while they *knew* he was shagging that lobbyist. Maybe your conservative friends are used to their husbands trading business favors for after-hours wampum.

BTW, I was born and raised here. Smiling and ignoring the swill in front of your eyes just so you don’t make an unladylike scene does not make you a Southerner. It makes you an idiot.

Crooks and criminals for Nathan Deal !!!

Crooks and criminals currently in Georgia jails should ask all their friends and relatives to vote for Nathan Deal. Like Gov Huckabee, whose endorsement and policies was warmly embraced by Nathan Deal, amnesty and pardons would be granted when Nathan Deal is elected.

Tom Watson…what experience are you referring to. Handel has never finished a position she started.. …let alone gained any experience. no my friend, she doesn’t even have on the job training. We don’t need a governor that’s training while learning the job , like Obahma. Look where that gets you..

Hey CobbGOPer…you know, i knew this was coming. And you’re right. All i can say is what the heck..if THE BIG HUCK wants to get involved we’ll take the help. And if he decides he wants to come to georgia sometime this weekend…as they say in South Georgia, we’ll find a gathering place somewhere and have a good old fashioned Deal for governor rally.

For all of you Deal bashers: Who among you has read the Ethics Report? The brief states “CONGRESSMAN DEAL DID NOT VIOLATE ANY HOUSE RULES, OR THE SPIRIT OF THE HOUSE RULES”. Now lets debate the issues! Wait, thats right Karen refuses to show up at debates due to her education or lack thereof.

Deal has got to be a homosexual like Haggert and his Congressional pal who tried to pick up a guy in the airport bathroom for sex! He certainly looks gay, acts gay, gots to be gay.

James Hatcher, join your lying thief in the jailhouse—the section you state comes from Deal’s *response* on p. 104 of the report. Birds of a feather flock together, I see.

Nice try at trying to manipulate the lazy, a natural target crowd for Stealin’ Deal. People who don’t pay attention are great for thieves!

The comments on this thread are almost comical – apparently, Handel’s folks have nothing better to do than overpopulate the message boards talking about how bad Nathan Deal is.

Of course, on some level, I can understand that since there is nothing positive to promote about Karen Handel.

Even more comical than the overpopulation is the reference to Handel’s “experience.” If, by experience, you mean someone who has never finished a job; someone who completely neglected her responsibilities as Secretary of State; someone who, by her inexperience and lack of action, ran the SOS’s office into the ground; and someone who is focused only upon her meteoric rise to power – then, yes, she has “experience.”

Upon reflection, this isn’t comical at all. It is tragic. Don’t perpetuate this tragedy.

I may not be Mr. Deal’s biggest fan, but he will certainly get my vote. I hope others will follow, lest we offer a sacrificial Handel to Mr. Barnes.
