New poll shows tie at top of GOP race for governor

A new poll from Atlanta-based InsiderAdvantage shows a dead heat atop the race for the Republican nomination for governor, with Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine and former Secretary of State Karen Handel both with 18 percent.

The poll, conducted July 1 of 914 likely Republican voters, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.

Oxendine has been polling ahead of Handel in other recent polls, getting as much as 34 percent in a SurveyUSA poll from mid-June.

The latest InsiderAdvantage poll, released Friday evening, has former U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal at 12 percent and former state Sen. Eric Johnson at 8 percent. Sen. Jeff Chapman is at 6 percent, Ray McBerry gets 3 percent and

Otis Putnam, 1 percent.

Importantly, 34 percent are undecided.

As far as the others, all you folks who don’t want to vote for the wrong candidate, remember, Jeff Chapman’s last 2 elections were paid for by Healthcare companies. He owes favors to healthcare and that can’t be a good thing. Jeff Chapman and Eric Johnson have both stolen Ray’s orginal ideas on taxes along the way. Now all of a sudden, everybody is a State’s Rights constitutionalist. Ask yourself this: why didn’t Chapman or Johnson use those abilities while they were already in office?

The AJC is a well known Left-leaning “news”paper, FreedomWorks & the local Tea Party have their agents out to promote their DC-owned, GOP stamped candidates while rescinding debate invitations to all candidates so that The People can make their own choices. Oxendine has flat out refused to debate Ray McBerry. Why? The other candidates have stated in the past their commitment to “working with Washington”, but once they saw the traction McBerry’s message was getting (”Georgia First, Constitution…), they began a whole new commentary with Georgians: the same one that McBerry has had from the start. If you are afraid of the direction this country is heading and Washington closing it’s eyes & ears to We The People, then Ray McBerry is our only hope. Do you really believe those career politicians & social climbers have the whole of Georgia’s best interests at heart? The newly elected Governors of our country have the best opportunity to push the Federal Government back into it’s original Constitutional confines.

I like Jeff Chapman but hes not without problems. He has been in the arena long enough to owe people favors, etc. RAY MCBERRY is the only Statesman in the race. If you want to get rid of the property tax Sonny doubled for you and get the Federal Government out of your business in the state….IT BETTER BE MCBERRY! A vote for anyone else is the same ol same ol status quo and Georgia cant afford anymore of that!

To Right Choice: Why didn’t Nathan Deal do anything the 20 years he was a politician in this State? Also, have you ever wondered what he did in DC the other 20 years he was a Congressman. I don’t think that because you went to college with him and he was nice then makes a lot of sense. Just sayin’.

Ray McBerry is the ONLY GOP candidate who hasn’t been a politican. Now go get your education at http://www.georgiafirst.org and stop listening to a bunch of crap. People have already admitted they were receiving money and gifts for their efforts in trying to keep him away from the Big Dogs because they can’t win a debate with him. July 16 on WSB and July 18 on PBS. Watch the debates. Most of you don’t even know anything about the candidates you say you’re voting for.

I know several Democrats on Jekyll who are so pleased with Jeff’s efforts on behalf of the island, they have his sign in their yards. Many environmentalists support him. At rallies in Brunswick, I’ve seen many blacks, whites, and others supporting him. He represents the people. He is the only one running that I trust as governor.

None of the canididates are perfect – they are all human! But in today’s atmosphere with Washington force feeding us socialism – out of 13 Gubernatorial Candidates you have your choice of six (6) Demoncrats, six (6) others who are either RINO’s, career politicians or both. And there is only one who is a Constitutionalist. If you care anything about this state, your county, your community, your family and your own protection from the tyranny coming down from Washington, you better think long and hard about who you elect for Governor. This is not a matter to be taken lightly. The only man who knows and understands the power that We the People have under the U.S. Constitution and States’ Rights is Ray McBerry. This is serious business, not a beauty or popularity contest, this is our future and our freedom that is at stake. People need to wake up, engage their brains and vote for someone who really can and will bring about limited government, free markets and fiscal responsibility and protection to the citizens of the State of Georgia.

How many of the candidates say they will invoke the 10th Amendment against the Federal Governments involvement in our state? Ray McBerry does. How many will work to abolish the State Income Tax, and the Property Tax and apply a Consumer Sales Tax that will be fair to all who abide here or just pass through? Ray McBerry Will. Who will protect your 2nd Amendment Right to bear arms. You guessed it Ray McBerry. Who is going to rid our state of Illegal Aliens, and Secure our Borders? Who is going to limit the size of Government envolvement in our lives and get it out of the way of Free Enterprise? Thats the kind of job creation I want to hear not more government jobs. And Last but Not Least Who stands firm on the Word of God as his belief system, and believes that Life begins at Conception? That’s right Ray McBerry . So don’t be mislead by all the political jargon you hear from most of the other candidates and take a serious look at what they are saying and not saying then check out Ray McBerry for our next Governor. http://www.GeorgiaFirst.org The only States Rights Constitutionalist on the ballot for Governor The only reason the others won’t debate him is because they would lose and don’t forget that Polls lie. We The People must stand together

The people of the state of Georgia have the opportunity to elect a Governor who genuinely cares about the state we live in. Who is that candidate? Ray McBerry. The Governor’s office is not a political stepping stone to Mr. McBerry. He is not a career politician who is just out for the “next big office”… He’s a man who sees the proper course of action for our state. It would be a great disservice to the entire population of the state of Georgia to elect any other candidate. http://www.georgiafirst.org

I don’t put a lot of stock in Polls because they can be very deceiving. The Facts are what I want to hear. When you look at the Candidates that are running for Governor of Georgia consider these. Who says they will reduce the size of Government and restore our Constitutional Rights, do away with Property Taxes and State Income Taxes in order to stimulate our economy and allow people to make a living to support themselves and their families? None other than Ray McBerry. Who will protect our 2nd Amendment Rights to bear arms, and invoke the 10th Amendment to protect our State from the encroachment of the Federal Government? Ray McBerry will. Who will rid our state of Illegal Aliens to eliminate them from reaping the benefits of our labors? Ray McBerry will.He is the only States Rights Constitutionalist Candidate running for the office of Governor in Georgia and bases his belief system on the Word of God, and believes that Life begins at Conception. This the kind of man I want to see in our Governors office. I don’t want to listen to Candidates that waste their time pointing out what they don’t like about the other Candidates, I want to hear what they will do for our State and its people. It’s plain to see that the so called top tier Candidates won’t debate Ray McBerry because they can’t compete on the Constitutional issues that we face. They don’t want to enter a debate that they have no chance of winning. Before you vote, look at their past service to our state and see what they have done to us , then look at the vision that Ray McBerry has for us. I don’t want to hear about tax credits and government created jobs, I want to hear about Fair Tax and Free Enterprise, Small Government Of the People, By the People and For the People, therefore my vote is for Ray McBerry. http://www.GeorgiaFirst.org

It is unfortunate that the big money interests in Georgia, the ones who contribute to the “bought and sold” candidates, control much of the campaign attention. Senator Jeff Chapman is a gubernatorial candidate who has the people of Georgia in his best intestest. He does not have the pwer-brokers funding his campaign for good reason. He is not afraid to go up against them and his Party’s leadership to do what he promised he would do for the people of Georgia. If Georgia voters, especially those who are undecided, will visit his web site, they will understand that Jeff Chapman is a man of his word. He has integrity and courage. He listens to ideas across the spectrum before making a decision. Georgia’s gubernatorial actions have been in the shadows for too long. Senator Jeff Chapman is a breath of fresh political air. We need him as Georgia’s next governor.

You all forget that we have one of the most important decision we will every make in our lifetime come July 20th and Nov. 2nd, 2010. When you look at the candidates running for Governor, what you have is a total of 5 career politicians who just are desiring to change job titles and who have shown they will say or do anything to get elected even copying one of their opponents platform because it is liked a lot by those who really care about our country and our State. You have one female who says she won’t debate one of her fellow Republicans based on lies and innuendo of a very troubled young woman who is simply out for revenge because a Court of Law said they found no truth to her statements and wouldn’t even issue a warrant. It took her 8 years to try and exact her revenge, but it is not working except for the gossip mongers and yellow journalists who love to spread rumors and innuendo with no basis of truth. Ray now has proof positive from an eyewitness account that this young woman’s motivation to tell these lies was for money and revenge – pure and simple. However, any juicy lies for Mr. McBerry’s opponents are good ones to try and knock out of the race the only true Constitutionalist, true State’s Rights advocate, true Pro-Life advocate and truly fiscally responsible man who has the well being of Georgians first and foremost. Ray McBerry is a gubenatorial candidate who doesn’t take money from PACs or special interest groups because he doesn’t want to be beholding to anyone for any favors later on. He is a honest and ethical man who has been lied about and others who call themselves christians have perpetrated those lies and embellished them. Voters if you keep believing all the lies said about Ray McBerry, you will be allowing yourself to be duped by the same people who were found not telling the truth in a Court of Law about Ray McBerry. If a Magistrate Court Judge deemed him not having done anything improper, why can’t that be the deciding factor. Once people listen to Ray’s message and realize he knows what he is talking about on State’s Rights, the Constitution, on ways to increase jobs in Georgia and attack new businesses in the process, eliminate State Income Taxes as well as Property Taxes and replace with a simple sales tax while still increasing income to the State for education, roads and other services, the decision to vote for Ray McBerry is obvious. He knows what he is talking about and not just saying words to make voters want to support him. These are his ideas and not his opponents, who are now copying his stance on the issues and claiming to be State’s Rights or want to eliminate State Income Taxes, etc. Another plus of the simple increase in sales taxes is that illegals will begin to pay for many of the service taxpayers are now paying because of the sales tax on consumed goods, until we can get them out of our State for good. Ray is also for nullifying and protecting Georgians from the unconstitutional manadated Obamacare/Healthcare program as well as putting into law a similar law like Arizona’s on illegal immigrants moving to Georgia. Ray is for keeping more of our hardearned tax dollars here in Georgia for Georgians and not sending it off to Washington. He has plans and innovative ideas that many have not heard because they would rather put their head in the sand instead of listening to a true citizen statesman and not a politician. A man who loves his Country, loves his native State of Georgia and highly respects the men and women in our military for all their service, and wants to make a difference for our State of Georgia. Remember, it’s noT Washington. . . it’s not Atlanta. . .But GEORGIA FIRST! gO TO http://www.georgia first. org for videos of speeches and a ton of information on Ray McBerry. Our only choice for Governor in 2010. The only one with a fiscally responsible and sound plan to balance Georgia’s budget and help Georgians to get back to our founding father’s principles and values — RAY MCBERRY.

McBerry is a clown who has spent more time hitting on teenage girls than he has working for GA. Deal seems to be a safe bet. Oxendine seems to be a goof ball and word on the street is he has personal baggage that will be a problem. Handle is not conservative enough, and the rest are weak. Couldn’t we have done better???

Correction to some of these posts, Ray McBerry has had an issue with one little trailer park trash type trying to get publicity years after a judge said there was zero evidence to support the allegations. that he did anything wrong at all. Those who want to keep beating that nonsense into the ground are simply afraid of the fact that his stances on the issues are exactly what Georgia needs and Georgians are waking up to that fact. How many issues have the other candidates switched stances on since Ray entered the race?

Good grief! Senator Jeff Chapman is NOT a “career politician.” He built his own business that was so successful it was bought by Waste Management, and Jeff Chapman became a division president. How many other candidates are that successful in business? He successfully got a bill passed to keep Jekyll Island’s south end undeveloped, and he succeeded in getting plans to “upscale” the rest of the island scaled back. He was given an award by The Arc, an organization that advocates for persons with disabilities, because of his tax plan to encourage donations to such organizations. He successfully blocked a bill that would have allowed secret meetings between economic developers from government agencies and potential new businesses. He has been an advocate for open government ever since his days as a Glynn County commissioner, where he spearheaded the move to put county meetings on cable TV.

Jeff Chapman has proved that he’s the honest and courageous candidate!

Jeff Chapman challenged all his fellow Repbublicans that wanted to give Jekyll Island to other rich Republicans. He and David Poythress were the only canditates to speak out. They Kept a State Park from being stolen. Eric Johnson was an advisor on the team that tried to do that sweetheart contract with “Loot’em Longer”. If Jeff Chapman can whip the JIA’ Board’s little mega-scam butt, then he can be a good fighter for the people of Georgia
