Perdue backs Cox in 7th District race for Congress

By Jeremy Redmon/jredmon@ajc.com

State Rep. Clay Cox, a Republican candidate for congress, says he has picked up the support of the top three most powerful Republicans in the statehouse: Gov. Sonny Perdue, House Speaker David Ralston and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.

Perdue will host a fund raiser rally for Cox on July 13 in Lawrenceville, according to a news release the Cox campaign distributed Monday. Ralston and Cagle are also planning to attend, the release says.

Cox is among eight Republicans vying to replace U.S. Rep. John Linder, who is retiring after about 18 years in office. His solidly conservative 7th District includes most of Gwinnett County, parts of Forsyth and Newton counties and all of Barrow and Walton counties.

I don’t think I’d be too thrilled about these endorsements if I was Clay. He’s really losing his Tea Party cred here

If you are a FairTax supporter, and let’s face it, every single candidate for this seat was compelled to support the FairTax whether or not they even really understood it because of its enormous popularity in Georgia, then the clear choice is Rob Woodall, who wrote the bill for his former boss, John Linder, and with Linder and Neal Boortz was instrumental in producing both bestselling FairTax books. That said, Rob is just plain brilliant and has an amazing grasp of all the issues that need to be addressed. Further, he is the only candidate that will not require an orientation period when he arrives in DC. Vote Woodall on July 20!

What did Woodall accomplish on the water issue during his time in DC?

I’m pretty sure I WANT my candidate to need an orientation period when he gets to DC. If he doesn’t need one, it means business as usual and we’ve seen how well that’s worked out.

Let’s face it, you get what you deserve if you don’t help Cox get into office. Please help him by your vote or with financial contributions of any amount! He is a conservative’s at his core! This nation was founded on CORE CONSERVATIVE VALUES. Just look where we are now, debt you can’t comprehend, a nation with just under 10% unemployment, tax increases and our children and grand kids have a dark future. Clay Cox will work for YOU and “WITH YOU”! Stand and be counted! Tomorrow may be too late. Veterans, Cox will not forget your sacrifices! If he does not do what he says he will, vote him out of office next district election. Hold your head high and bring this country back into the power of the voters with Clay Cox as our Representative in the 7th District.

Jody has received the endorsements of TEA Party leaders from the Gwinnett and Walton TEA Parties as well as Former Congressman Tom Tancredo and Constitutionalist David Barton. All of Cox’s endorsements are the same “politics as usual” crowd who have gotten us where we are today. For a true Constitutional Conservative who isn’t in bed with the “politics as usual” crowd vote Jody Hice…

It is time to stop the partisanship that is hurting our Country. Elect a conservative Dem – Doug Heckman – he is the only one with a history of bringing people together!

Mr. Cox has clearly voted to use government to help his personal business. Folks, that’s not conservative – that’s not unlike politicians but that’s not conservative. Rob Woodall is the man we of integrity that we can trust with our vote. Even you are a friend of Mr. Cox, research both of these men and you will agree with me and do what’s best for our community and our country. God bless.

As a friend of the Hices for 10 years, I know Jody Hice is the perfect candidate to represent the 7th District of Georgia in the United States Congress.

“The economic and military greatness of the United States and the uniqueness of American liberty are endangered by the left-wing folly of President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress. As a member of Congress I will be loyal to the Constitution, and I will fight to restore fiscal and moral sanity to government. We must stop outrageous federal spending. No more bailouts or phony stimulus packages. Repeal Obama’s so-called health care reform. Restore the American Dream by re-establishing free market economics. My priority is getting Americans back to work by getting government out of the private sector, and by abolishing the current system of taxation which destroys economic growth and job creation. Socialism doesn’t work and is incompatible with liberty. Government doesn’t create jobs. We must get back to economic liberty” -Dr. Jody Hice

Jody will work the hardest to bring our nation back to its foundational values. So who has your vote, the popular politician or the hard working American citizen with a voice for “WE THE PEOPLE”?

It takes more than Conservative Christian values to make a good congressman. Clay Cox has the same beliefs as Jody Hice except he knows how to write a bill and build support for it. Jody Hice supports cut him down for being a professional politician. Isn’t just what Jody Hice is trying to do??!!
I am tried of people slamming Clay Cox for the fact that he is already a legislator. Go to vote smart and you can check out his RECORD of office. He is the only candidate that has one. Jody Hice can talk about the issues, but he has NO IDEA how to do it.
