Georgia GOP supports offshore drilling

While gas prices were spiking to $4 a gallon in 2008, Republicans chanted “Drill, baby, drill!” as their solution to easing pain at the pump.

Today, the mantra is also “Plug, baby, plug!”

Despite widespread public outrage in an election year over the explosion at BP’s Deepwater Horizon rig that killed 11 people and continues to pour millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, most Georgia Republican politicians continue to support more offshore drilling while criticizing the Obama Administration’s response, reports Dalton Daily News staff writer Blake Aued. Of course they are. This sad sack is opposed to anything Obama is in favor of. Utter buffoonery that they are criticizing the government’s response when they believe the only powers of the government should be those vested by the Constitution. Don’t think cleaning up oil spills is in there. And don’t say this is part of protecting the country. If that was true, this and the last administration would be doing more to inspect overseas container ships that get a pass on security.
