USC stood up Georgia Tech for a Sun Bowl dinner Wednesday night, reportedly showing up more than 90 minutes late for a function. By the time the Trojans party arrived, Tech had already left to return to its team hotel.
A later-than-scheduled practice was partly to blame, according to an online report from the L.A. Daily News.
It is another faux pas for USC in its relations with the host city of El Paso, Texas. Shortly after the team was chosen to play in the Sun, a Trojans linebacker sent out a Twitter message critical of El Paso. Another USC football player sent out a tweet Wednesday describing El Paso as an “(expletive) city.”

I like how all of you know that Kiffin is to blame and you seem to know he did it on purpose. Who knows what happened? bottom line is tech will be outclassed with or without the support you get from Dawg fans (who should be worrying about Nebraska after losing to a lesser MSU team last year)

What do you expect coming out of Lane Kiffin? Ask UT fans what they thought of his actions and character. I didn’t see any quote coming from Kiffin or Pat Haden the AD saying “we’re embarrassed and we regret the oversight on our part to honor the event, our host and Georgia Tech”. Also, do you expect any more coming out of California?

USC showing up late for dinner with Georgia Tech does not surprise me. They are a classless act. Weren’t they supposed to score the most points of every team this year and were going to be number 1. What a joke of a team and Kiffin too.

Very Lane Kiffinish. Anyone watching the end of the USC-Notre Dame game knows he doesn’t have a clue as a coach. Vol fans know that he is even worse as a human being. So here is one Dawg who hopes Tech pays them back for this blatent disrespect for their host and for them.

A USC athletic department spokesman said the Trojans’ tardiness was because of their late arrival at the airport, which pushed back the start of practice and their return to the team hotel before they departed for the dinner. The spokesman said USC apprised bowl officials of its delays.

Biloxi Dawg….only thing worse than being a Dawg is being from Biloxi…..what a disgusting city. Still paining from the could’a, would’a, should’a season? Who did you beat this year? Gators beat themselves. Enjoy the Capital Two Bowl. Put that 1980 national championship tape in the VCR and throw some sugar in the air and watch it fall from the sky.

According to Pat Forde at Yahoo Sports, a late flight caused a late practice which caused a late dinner. USC kept the Sun Bowl officials in the loop on their schedule. Tech didn’t want to wait around and watch the Trojans eat–and I can’t blame them.

I am Georgia Bulldog through and through, but I hope the Jackets pound the Trojans into the turf from start to finish. I spent six and a half miserable years as a prisoner=of-war in the People’s Republic of Los Angeles. Followers of the University of Spoiled Children were every bit as arrogant as the team members themselves. Can’t believe I’

USC has the problem of having a 30 something year old spoiled brat for a coach… He may teach his players something about football, but he surely is incapable of teaching them anything about acting like a mature, responsible adult. I hope the Sun Bowl committee withholds part of the bowl money for failure to meet bowl obligations… of course, the only way Lane Kiffin will learn anything is if the Pac10 makes him personally make up the shortfall (and even then I’m skeptical).

West coast teams think they outclass everybody else. Maybe GT should just decide to not show for the game. Naw, go on in there and whip up on the condoms. Jackets can do it if they just will. A win here would be great for Paul Johnson and the team.

For those trying to make excuses for Lane Kiffin, here’s something else I just found:
According to Jason Kirk of SBNation.com, the Trojans were not delayed for any good reason either, as the official USC Athletics Twitter account tweeted a picture of Kiffin in a sombrero and announced that USC had officially arrived in San Antonio. Since the tweet was posted at 11:34 a.m. on December 26th and the Sun Bowl shindig was scheduled later that day, it seems there were no travel issues involved in the dinner diss. Perhaps a broken team bus?
