Georgia Tech freshman Marcus Georges-Hunt was named the ACC rookie of the week for the second time this season. Georges-Hunt scored a game-high 18 points with six rebounds in leading the Yellow Jackets over Georgia and then scored all 10 of his points in the final 10 minutes as the Jackets rallied to beat UNC Wilmington.

Georges-Hunt has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and is the first Tech player to win rookie of the week multiple times since Derrick Favors won it four times in the 2009-10 season.

What – No comments about those thug UGA guys and how bad they are and that Tech just never has anything to hang their heads about and, oops, my bad, sorry about that bball coach getting a DUI and missing the game Saturday..

But, on another note, CPJ did not push, cuss out, or ask anybody if they were “stupid” on national TV last weekend, either.

“But, on another note, CPJ did not push, cuss out, or ask anybody if they were “stupid” on national TV last weekend, either”

If you’d post your real name I think someone would oblige. Until then we’ll sette with “Thuga” is “stupid”.

If he continues to improve, he may be the next Michael Jordan. He has nice size and body strength but the thing that separated Jordan and this kid is their intensity on defense. Coach Gregory has assigned him to the other teams leading scorer every game and they don’t do well until he comes out for a break. He has the strength, leaping ability, and competitive fire to shut down the opposition and literally take over a game in crunch time. He brings it every minute of every game and is humble about it too. His game looks exactly like Michael when he was a freshman at NC and was not the polished player he was after a couple of years with the Bulls. I actually think that Georges-Hunt is a little better shooter than Jordan at this stage as a freshman. I know it is still too early to truly compare, but he does remind me of Jordan. Thank God, this time, he is on our team and not NC’s!

…is a real name – and you Tech guys are so smart -LOL – and, by the way, YOU did comment, or did that escape your reasoning, too?

Sorry, you failed. I only commented on your hatred for Tech. You’ll get over it. Eventually, good luck Thuga.

..I do not have “hatred” for Tech – my dad went to Tech, my brother in law and his son both went to Tech, and I am a Tech football season ticket holder – I only commented on your inability to comprehend the written word, and, again, you proved you ignorance of it, and the ability to note what is a “real” name – carry on…

I was at Tech during the era when we had one ACC Rookie of the Year after another, beginning with Mark Price. I hope CBG can replicate Cremins’ recruiting success … except that I hope CBG is able to get more than one “blue chipper” per year. Tech’s starting five during the Cremins era could generally compete with anyone in the country, but depth was always an issue. I like the fact that we’re bringing in players from the bench throughout the game … and the level of intensity doesn’t appear to drop off very much. We’ve still had some scoring droughts in several games, but hopefully that improves as the season progresses. Congratulations to Marcus! I look forward to seeing what this team can do over the next couple of seasons together.

Cremins’ system probably wouldn’t work now because the true blue chippers are “one & done” or “two & skidoo.” The secret is getting the guys SLIGHTLY below that level. Lots of ‘em. Seems to be working for CBG.

Even though Hunt is a four star and Carter is a 5 star recruit, I had being hearing reports for months that Hunt would be the better player. Bolden is good too. When we have all three freshmen in at one time, it reminds me of our 1983 team which often put 4 freshmen on the floor at one time.

How about a preview on Stacey Poole? Is he a slasher/leaper or can he
shoot the three? Will he get minutes immediately? Will he substitute at
the 2 and the 3? When is the first game we will see him? Will he make a
significant contribution to the current rotation? etc.

Congratulations, Marcus! I have been to two games this season and Tech Basketball is fun again. Like Cremins, BG is bringing in strong freshmen; but unlike Cremins, BG doesn’t play just the Iron 5. Tech has a ways to go; but I like the chemistry of the team and the positive attitude. GO JACKETS!

What is going on with Julian Royal? We haven’t heard much about him this season. Also, where did Glen Rice Jr. end up? Ken do you know? Thanks and go Jackets!
