Uzzi earns sole Tech All-ACC spot

Georgia Tech guard Omoregie Uzzi was named first-team All-ACC Monday, his third All-ACC selection.

Uzzi was the only Yellow Jackets player named to either the first or second teams. Tech has now had at least one first-team All-ACC player for 17 consecutive years.

Uzzi has started all 12 games this season and has been instrumental in Tech ranking No. 3 in FBS in rushing offense. Uzzi was first-team All-ACC as a junior and second team as a sophomore.

Outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu, center Jay Finch, offensive tackle Will Jackson and A-back Orwin Smith were honorable mention.

Six Clemson players made first team. Five players from North Carolina and Florida State, Tech’s opponent in the ACC Championship game, made first team.

That is reflective of the results on the field.

Incredible… Tech playing for ACC Championship, and only one player on both 1st and 2nd teams. But that is only a commentary on the troubles at Miami.

Weird conference.

Actuall, Del…..how dumb can you be? Do they name All American teams for their play last year? You can’t even grant the young man a small bit of pride in his efforts on the playing field, you doofus.

So GT has ONE of the top 44 players (I’m not including special teams) in the ACC. Nice!

He must have gotten that on his rep coming into this season.

GT’s OL was manhandled by MTSU, BYU, UGA and VT, and in their other losses to Klimpson & “Da U” the OL had letdowns at key moments.

No way do any GT FB players this season deserve to make an All-ACC team.

Uzzi played much lesser ball this season than he did last season, he might have hurt his draft stock by coming back for his Sr. Season, he might have played himself from a 5th rounder to a 7th rounder or an UDFA (undrafted Free Agent).

When Coach Moral Victory had Chan’s Recruits he had 4 or 5 MFL guys on each side of the ball and 2 or 3 guys on each side that made 1st or 2nd Team All-ACC, now with his own Recruits………………………….bupkis!

Just shows how poor a Recruiter that CMV really is!

…he actually made it because “his third All-ACC selection.” and not because of what he did this year…

This says it all. Aren’t these CPJ’s players that were supposed to be wreaking havoc on the ACC once on campus?

I saw a lot of spectating from Uzzi against Georgie. He did not play like an All American. From a spectator’s standpoint, I thought Beno did a better job than Uzzi.

Nice honor. Congrats to him and the jackets. Tried to watch him some Saturday during the game but it was hard to tell much. Looked to get some good blocks early and played well.

Actually, Delbert, and WnE I agree with you guys Uzzi didn’t play his best this year..He was “winded” by the 2nd half and showed very little fire this year! The guy was not in game shape!
