Does it matter? We can play GT noon, 3:30, 7:00, or 12:00 at night and Georgia would still stomp them. Gonna be a long day in Athens for the bugs.

@uga, class of 1980. UGA has “stomped” (i.e. won by more than 2 TDs) twice since 1995.

Actually, as I posted previously, your defense has earned a top 20 ranking by playing teams with an average of 75ish ranked offense. Against USC(e) and Tenn, the only two good offensive teams you’ve played to date, their offenses actually improved against UGA. Look for somewhere north of 450 yards of total offense by GT. If we can force two punts per half against UGA, we will win. Note that UMD and UNC both have better ranked rushing defenses than UGA.

Yeah our defense is going to have a hard time stopping gurley and murry. We’re going to need some major breaks and play a perfect game if we want any chance at this one.

Tokyo, UGA will score at will. I doubt they punt one time.

12pm game time sucks but at least UGA fans will more behaved. Not as much time to sauce it up.

Yea Buzzed, but every time they score Golden will run the kickoff back for a TD to tie it up. But of course we will eventually miss an extra point and get “stomped”.

For what it’s worth, we are 3-0 in our last 3 noon games at the cesspool.

Tokyo Drift or Watever you’re calling yourself,

“Look for somewhere north of 450 yards of total offense by GT.”

Keep dreaming buddy. The wrambling dbags only managed to run for 244 against us last year. How are you going to manage 200 yds more against the same defense with 1 more year of experience? You’re basing your opinion on what we did against Tennessee? That was over a month ago. Have you seen this defense in the last 3 weeks? We’re back to being lights out again. You’re comparing our run defense to Maryland and North Carolina? Just as delusional as ever. It will be a bad day to be a wrambling geek.

DawgFaithful, keep in mind to temper you expectations if you are basing them on how well the d did against Auburn. I wouldn’t say that is a telling game. UGA rolls. The only way this is close is if Vad goes nuts.

tooltime,

I’m not basing it on what we did against Auburn. I’m basing it on the fact that you lost to Middle tennessee State at home and then you lost to BYU. I’m basing it on the fact that we are a top 20 defense adn Tech’s is one of the worst in college football. I’m basing it on the fact that we’ve beaten you guys 18 of the last 20 times we’ve played.

Just sayin.

I don’t understand how you say UT was over a month ago so it dosen’t matter but 18 out of 20 I guess was somehow in the last month so that is relevant. For the record I stated I think UGA wins easily.

Yes, the Dawgs have beaten Tech 3 straight years after letting them run all over us in 2008. However, I don’t remember us actually stopping the TO offense in any of the three game we won. Tech (as so often happens) just couldn’t finish the drill. Just saying – don’t be overconfident. That offense is dangerous and we should all know from what has happened in college football this year that anything can happen in one game.

it is always a long day in athens for gt fans….. win or lose.

we have to deal with the ….

-stench of urine from sanford stadium
-rowdy unruly uga fans
-having our cars etc vandalized
-having to watch fellow georgians make fools of themselves
-watching the uga fans disrespect their own university by tossing tons and tons of trash on their own campus.
-and having to sit with people who have permanent tahbakey drool stains on their chins.

one would think that uga would have figured this out by now. opponent fan base after opponent fan base constantly rate the uga football ‘experience’ near the very bottom. year after year. even a national broadcast team member commented about the uga experience…

” the most drunken out of control fan base i have ever witnessed in 30 years of doing college football broadcasts on a national level. ”

ask the boise state fans how they enjoyed athens and sanford stadium last year. And they kicked your fb teams butt.

every year jacket fans by fewer tickets.

get a clue!

Tooltime,

Let me explain the difference to you. If you follow UGA football week in and week out you would have noticed that our defense has finally decided to play this year. We’re finally gelling. We had some suspensions and guys playing out of position so it took a little while. Teams get better or worse as the season goes on. That’s very common. Teams change from month to month as the season goes on.

However when you’re talking about a strong trend over the course of 2 decades that’s a different ballgame. We’ve won 18-20 and Tech is having an awful year. Based on that I expect the trend to continue. Just like I expect the UGA’s defense to continue trending up as it has in the last month. There are different circumstances that go into each situation that makes them unique that are far more important to consider than the amount of time that has gone by.

See the difference now?

thanks high tech

we can take all the help we can get. truth be told i expect uga to put a beat down on us if our d does not step up. we do not do well when playing from behind….. although with vad in the backfield i like our chances a bit better.

Hey “hey UGA grad Class of 1800″,

Oh boy here we go… You’re getting dominated in the series so you resort to bashing the fan base and the gameday experience. Tech fans buy fewer and fewer tickets every year because they are tired of getting the crap kicked out of them year in and year out. Who WOULD want to spend money and travel to see that. Hell your fans don’t even buy tickets to your home games so I don’t think you can balme it on the experience. It’s just that Tech fans are finally accepting mediocrity. Stop being such a crybaby.

Athens is continually voted as one of the best places to see a ballgame every year. I’m not sure what national broadcast team you’re refering to but I read recently where Vern Lundquist and Keith Jackson, both men who have seen ballgames at venues all over the country, said that Sanford Stadium and Athens, GA make for the best game day experince they have ever experienced. Also Boise State didn’t play us in Athens you worm. We played them in the GA Dome. Do you even have a clue what you’re talking about?

I wouldn’t expect a group of people who leave totally disappointed every time they come to understand. But then again every geek is entitled to their opinion.

BTW frat pledges pick up the trash every week dbag. We don’t “trash” the campus anymore than other schools do. It’s called tailgating you nerd. Maybe your fanbase should get together and try supporting your team sometime. Even if you are perpetual LOSERS! LOl.

You’re just the A-typical, super-delusional, ultra-bitter, totally insecure GA Tech fan. You should get the clue crybaby.

Thank goodness it’s at noon…would hate to think UGA would have 3-3.5 hours more to practice for the “high school” offense. Funny how it’s “high school” but they either take off the week before OR schedule an option offense the game before to be ready. Maybe one day they will get to play a tough schedule.

Techies were ready to give up football or stop playing Georgia the week after their Mid Tn State spanking. And this is the fan base that refers to the Georgia fan base as “delusional”.

It’s funny to hear Tech fans talk about Georgia’s schedule as if it’s so much harder to go 5-5 against the 51st ranked SOS than it is to go 9-1 against the currently 26th ranked SOS. Of course, our SOS will go down in a couple of weeks and Tech’s will skyrocket.

DawgFaithful, can you explain how UGA somehow won “18 of the last 20″, when GT won in 2008, 2000, 1999, and 1998? I’ll be the first to admit that GT only winning 4 since 1998 is bad…but it’s much better than losing 18 of 20, which didn’t happen…you should stick to the facts.
(Also nice how you conveniently choose 1992 as the cut-off point, since GT also won 2 of 3 right before that.)

Speaking of factually challenged: Maryland’s rushing D is giving up fewer yards per game per game than UGA’s, and UNC’s was until last week’s game against GT.
Yes UGA has done better lately, but 3 of those 4 games were against the very worst of the SEC, Auburn, OLE Miss, Kentucky. (Sure helps your schedule when you avoid playing ALL 4 of the best teams in the SEC West.)

DawginNY has the SOS rankings partially right. The latest list shows the Georgie dwags with a record of 9 & 1 @ #26 with a down arrow. We “should” know what that represents. The same list shows GT with a record of 4 & 5 @ #51 with an up arrow, We “should” know what that represents. He did sorta make up for his lack of factual reporting with his last sentence, however. So the “experts” think the two teams SOS will be closer after last weekends games are factored in. And who knows but that they may actually be much closer by the 24th. They act all high & mighty & strut around like a little banty rooster. Well, every dog has it’s day & they know it. What goes up (and we know the dwags have been up) must come down (I admit Tech has been down). A day of reckoning is coming & they ain’t gonna like it. GOOOOO JACKETS THWGeorgie
