The highest-scoring conference game in ACC history did not earn any offensive player on either team ACC player of the week recognition, but two other Georgia Tech players were honored, inside linebacker Quayshawn Nealy and returner Jamal Golden.
They were honored as the co-linebacker and specialist of the week, respectively, after Tech’s 68-50 win over North Carolina Saturday in Chapel Hill, N.C. They are the third and fourth Tech players to receive ACC player of the week recognition this season.
Nealy recorded two sacks, a career high, and had six tackles (four solo). Golden returned the second-half kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, his second in three games. He became just the second player in Tech history to run back two kickoffs for touchdowns, joining Drew Hill (1978), and the fourth player to accomplish that feat in a career (Gary Lee, Dez White and Hill). Golden set a school record with 230 kickoff yards in the game.
The offensive back of the week was Virginia quarterback Michael Rocco (29-for-37 for 300 yards, four touchdowns, no interceptions, led last-minute game-winning touchdown drive), the offensive lineman of the week was N.C. State center Camden Wentz (13 knockdown blocks, 88 percent grade, Wolfpack gained 428 yards of offense) and the receiver of the week was Florida State’s Rashad Greene (six catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead touchdown with 40 seconds left).

… and one of their players is the “defensive” player of the week in the ACC – just goes to show what a joke the ACC is, and I have been an ACC and Tech fan for over 50 years…

I agree with CT_Jacket – “it’s Senior Day and TW deserves to start.”
It is like BB, the starters do not matter, it is who is in the game at the end.

Tevin will start because he’s a Senior, but I expect it will be mostly Vad Lee after that. Tevin’s been a good soldier, but he doesn’t have the natural gifts of Nesbitt, who he followed, or Vad, who is taking over from him.

Maybe no offensive players from this game got an award because they considered the defenses.

I agree 1 4 GT.
I thought they were going to do that and I registered to comment on certain stories but it turned out to be the ones with a series of pictures.
Or maybe it was the opening night at McCamish story.
But they did not do it with their regular stories.
I have a Sunday only subscription.
I am not considering a daily subscription until they do so.

Golden and Godhigh were the two who deserved the most recognition…IMHO
Tevin should get 2 series, then Vad. Seems to be a good formula.

Just don’t let down against Duke. That sort of thing has happened before. And Duke has a pretty good qb (where had he committed to?) and receiver. I think they will put up some points, so we have to keep on scoring. Oh yes, they also have a pretty good coach.

So did he win it or is the title of the article for real he almost won it? Kind of odd but congrats to him on a good game regardless. That was a big win for Tech no doubt.
Just don’t think I have seen more bandwagon jumping in all my years and probably deservedly so. Losing to Middle Tennessee like that would be the cause for jumping off and I guess scoring 68 points in a non overtime game no matter who it was against would supply hope and cause the need to jump back on the wagon.
You won’t beat UGA this year. However, Vad is going to make you so much better in the future and help take the pressure off the D.

Start Tevin against Duke and bring in the young un in a couple of series to see how he does.
Hold Duke under 40 and we win.
