A few notes, nothing of grave substance.
1. Tevin Washington will start. I’d guess Vad Lee will make his appearance in the third possession.
2. How Georgia Tech defends Giovani Bernard bears watching. Tech is 4-1 when it allows 150 rushing yards or fewer, 0-4 when it doesn’t. First-down rushes, in particular, will be important. (You could also point out that Tech is 4-1 playing teams whose offenses aren’t very good, like Presbyterian, Boston College, Maryland and Virginia.)
3. UNC opponents are 10-for-12 on field goals. Perhaps it’ll rub off.

No matter how much Vad will open up our offense over the next 4 years (which he shows a ‘no-ceiling’ potential), our team will never even sniff consistent wins over UGA and BCS game talks until we can get even a decent defense. Just awful.

I still have hope in CPJ – looks like he has done a good job recruiting a star QB, but dangit if we cant fix the defense after 5 years there is no hope for him. I cant sit and watch this anymore.

A lot of teams are struggling on defense these days, but we are definitely worse than most. We definitely need a new d coordinator with a new approach

PJ would be an amazing coach in the arena league. With a 50 yard field and teams that don’t play much D, he would be a genius and score 150 points a game. Unfortunately, that just doesn’t work in NCAA ball.

@ DawgNole…..hopefully, IF we get a good DC during the offseason, he can get things fixed immediately. I remember when Carson came in and totally turned around the D in one season. It was because of that one season that he inherited the HC job when Dodd retired. Another bad decision by Tech, because he was NOT a HC. But he COULD build a defense.
