A few notes, nothing of grave substance.
1. Tevin Washington will start. I’d guess Vad Lee will make his appearance in the third possession.
2. How Georgia Tech defends Giovani Bernard bears watching. Tech is 4-1 when it allows 150 rushing yards or fewer, 0-4 when it doesn’t. First-down rushes, in particular, will be important. (You could also point out that Tech is 4-1 playing teams whose offenses aren’t very good, like Presbyterian, Boston College, Maryland and Virginia.)
3. UNC opponents are 10-for-12 on field goals. Perhaps it’ll rub off.

It’s fla I detest (w/Auburn a close second)–not Tech. There are a few of us who realize that it helps the State of Georgia for both our D-1 football teams to excel. Plus, I always want our game at season’s end to MEAN something in te national picture. Too often, it doesn’t.
Impressive job by your offense and special teams today. Certainly has to raise some eyebrows for future opponents.

@ billyho55…..sorry you can’t make it next week, but family DOES come first. Since that will be the last home game, I guess it will have to be next season, but yes, the invitation is open. Several of us went to the Spring game last year, so keep posting, and we’ll let you know if that is in the works again. Vad looked good. Let’s give CPJ a little credit for bringing him along. Tevin got us going, making it easier for Vad to come in and keep it going. It would not bother me to see Tevin start again next week. But for the first time in a long time, guys came and made plays. GO JACKETS!!

Pretty amazing… I know that CPJ will get no credit for this win since it is only UNC, but he should get some credit. We have been able to win these shootout games at times. Yes, Vad Lee looked great, but I expected him to, playing back at home. I think CPJ expected him to, too.
I know that many question why Vad hasn’t been playing more of the season, but my retort is always to ask the question of exactly WHEN he should have played more? Should a QB with zero experience have played in the VT game?!?!? Should he have played more in the Miami game? When? When we were down by 19, when we were up by 22, when we went into OT? MTSU? Would it have really mattered? Clemson? Should we have played him when we were up by 1 in the 4th quarter?
I think we are going to be able to look back on this season and see that CPJ handled this QB situation just right.

GTfan2012: Ask yourself this question: do you really believe that something cataclysmic happened to Vad between September 3rd (the VT game) and today, November 10th? Did Vad just now become awesome, or was he always awesome?
A kid just doesn’t magically become a real player in 2 months. He’s been at tech for 18 months. If CPJ went into summer camp knowing Vad was the man, Vad would have been prepared and ready for VT.

Oh you want me to enter my comments here…
As I’ve said before it was a good game for the team. Some things, MULTIPLE THINGS lined up in Jackets favor Saturday.
I don’t think this game says anything about previous losses except they were losses and this was a win. We wouldve won regardless of qb. So I don’t think it makes any sense to start playing the if, coulda, woulda game. It was one win against a team whose defense (despite rankings) was not stellar. We were improved on all phases of the game including defense! Congrats to Golden for another RFTD.
Take nothing away from the team, they showed up for a must win game. Hopefully they will all do the same this weekend!
The question is… What are you gnna do with yourself now that there is no platform for your player bashing?
