Greetings –
A few thoughts on Georgia Tech-Maryland.
1. Obviously, how Maryland quarterback Shawn Petty can do is going to have a large impact on the outcome. Look for Georgia Tech to stick just about everybody in the box.
2. Tevin Washington will start. I’d guess both play a lot in the first half.
3. Kind of breezy. That could mean less passing than normal for both sides. This game could be over in 2:45.
4. Don’t know if you saw it, but Miami may self-impose a bowl ban to pacify the NCAA. Story from the Sun-Sentinel here. If that happens – Miami won’t make an announcement until it becomes bowl eligible – it would mean that if Tech wins today and Virginia Tech loses this Thursday to Florida State, the Jackets would control their own destiny in the Coastal Division. Crazy.
5. Tiny crowd. Maryland won’t get much of a lift at home, it doesn’t appear.

You have to admit, JD, the 5-5-3 defense Dooley invented was pretty innovative.

billyho….chill, man. At least save your boos for Tevin till after the opening series. Even if he were the 3rd string QB, he would start the Duke game, because he’s a senior, and it will be senior day.

On the other end of the spectrum, Tennessee is losing to Troy, 30-28 … At halftime.

Dooley is the latest in a line of clunker coaches employed by one of the traditional powers of the SEC that just can’t win enough meaningful games.
Donnan, Zook, Shula now Dooley.
They were all close, yet so far away.

Is that black trim on the uniforms or just a very dark blue? I sure hope it’s black.

Poor Dooley.
They beat LSU his first year if the D coor just doesn’t send in the subs and get the too many on the field penalty that gives LSU one last chance.
Maybe Tennessee becomes better but I doubt it.
No coach ever has gotten away with so much stupidity as Les Miles.

Excellent observation Detective.
No coach in the history of college football inherited a better situation than the Hatter.
They win, inspite his antics.
The non-sense against Aubie a few years ago is still mind blowing!!
He literally had no idea what was going on!!

Thanks Ken. I’m still waiting to see a game this year where the ENTIRE team is into it for the length of the game. Here’s hoping.

Billyho, first loss next season, you gonna scream for Justin Thomas? C’mon man. TW has done more with less than a ton of former Tech signal callers, Ball, Lugenbill, Davis, Suggs, just to name a few. And TW is a good kid. He’s humble and plays within his ability. He works hard and he has tried to be a leader. Vad’s a better athlete and has more upside, but Tevin is the best we’ve had since Nesbitt went down. We should thank him for the effort and all Tech alum should offer the dude a job. I’d work with him any day.

Billyho can dish it out but can;t take it. Son, you’re carrying on worse than my 3 year old Grand Nephew. If he gets mad, he just stands real still , crosses his arms and scowls real hard. Ask him what he’s doing & he says real low & slow, “I’m mad”.

PJ nees to hire a halftime coach. He needs to have someone come in at halftime and talk and fire them up since no team looks worse in the second half than Tech.
